I'm sure he will. My sister traded her 73 Opel GT for a 79 Capri 4 cyl manual, so I'm somewhat familiar with the 79. (I almost ordered one for myself too, but negotiations fell thru so bought a new Ford truck instead.)
We had a 79 mustang. 5.0 same silver exterior but red interior with console. Good memories. It was a daily driver and unfortunately a rust bucket when we got rid of it.
Great car, Bob, and great sale for the new owner! I bought two pairs of the Ray Ban Metas - one with regular polarized lenses and one with the photochromatic lenses so I can wear them inside without looking out of place. As you've shown, it's all vertical and really meant for social media posting and viewed on a phone screen. However, the quality is quite good! :) Happy New Year, to you and all! :D
…as we look back in preparation for the New Year…you took me back to 1980, when I picked up a ‘78 (non RS)…it was fun to drive and quite econominal… …thanks, Bob…and a joyous and hopeful New Year!!…😎👀🆒🎉🥂🎊
Such a sweet car, I wish my 79 Capri looked like that 😅I remember Hoovies' video. By the way, the center console was simply optional. I have (and had) several 79s Mustangs and all had the console, and parted out one which didn't. While the console is in itself kind of useless, the armrest is mandatory for me.
Obviously not the Euro Capri which was released in '69 and ran until '76, I had one in Australia with a 3L V6 engine, this US version however looks really good!
Outside of the few different body panels, it's really the same car. Even the interiors are not different with the exception of the fake wood trim...for a car that was supposed to be a bit upscale, they could have at least put something unique inside.
@@Raptor3388 Well we got (in the 80s) The RS Sport over here in Europe with brushed metal instead of wood and Wolfrace wheels. V8 Auto or stick. Mine however is fitted with a M-Code 5.8 Cleveland from a wrecked 71 Mustang. All black with Recaro interior.
A shame this was only offered in the hatchback bodystyle. I found the bubblebacks interesting. A Capri notchback or a convertible would have been interesting.

The glasses look cool and the camera works well but what l really wonder is, can you see Aliens with them? lol
Happy New Year, Bob and Becky!!!
Thanks Bob. Cool video. Cool Ray Ban's Happy New Year. All the best to you and crew in 2024!!
Glad it's going to a good home and to someone as passionate about that model Capri as you are.
What a cool original car! Hope Justin loves it as much as we do!

A beautiful car. Reminds me of a Pontiac Grand Prix I had on hire in Canada in 1995 - I would loved to have brought it home to Australia.
I do remember the Tyco race car set this was the official pace car back then and they had it featured.
I do remember those.
Hey Bob, the Ray Bans are very cool 😎 Happy New Year to you, Becky & David!!! 🎊🎉🎈
Happy New Year!

I had that car! Turbo sucked from the start but I loved the recaro seats!

Thanks for watching and commenting!
The better looking Mustang!

Happy New Year Bob!
Happy New Year!
My 1st was an 80 "stang" 2.3 3sp auto (would do 0-60 in 2 days) but you could not kill that thing (trust me, I tried) 😂
It's a super cool looking car, shame it had malaise era horsepower. But if you upgraded it to the power level of a 1986 SVO it would move really nice.
I would choose a modern 4cyl Ecoboost but not for this car. It’s too special.

McLaren did make a Capri convertible.
