That gives a glimpse of the Raaga bhavam. And different letters are used as catalysts to sing the notes, say Aaa, Naa, Thaa etc. It is a choice of the singer. Using these letters as a support, one travells between the notes emphasizing the jeeva swaras so that in a matter of seconds one can feel the melody that is there in the raaga. In this video Bala murali was EIGHTY years old. If Bala murali krishna wants to just show off, people like you and me can not even understand that, Lol.
