- It was disappointing weekend for the Conservative party - to put it lightly.
The papers have been calling it 'dire' - they lost more than 470 seats...and a number of mayors...
Big wins for Labour, on the other hand - with Sir Keir Starmer saying we need an election NOW to be released from what he's called Rishi Sunak's "Zombie Government."

Voted blue my whole life … never again! targeting the disabled and most vulnerable in society for electioneering, plunging the disabled into panic about being denied PIP or taken to tribunal with severe and chronic illnesses that are medically documented. Appalling.

Labour are going to inherit a complete skip fire if they manage to win the GE, I don't know about feeling inspired to vote labour but I'm not expecting miracles just hopefully a competent government who can start to turn things around.

It is not.
The UK uses first-past-the-post elections. Labour focussed really well on where they needed to make the difference.
The overall numbers don't matter in UK elections.

Why does literally no one ever mention that photo ID is now needed to vote? I always voted until that rule was brought in now I can't and I won't be the only one. That is certainly going to have an affect on turnout numbers.
