  • Today Keir Starmer will launch his six first steps that he says he will take if he wins the general election.
Let's have a look at these six points:
    1. Deliver economic stability
    2. Cut NHS waiting times
    3. Launch a new Border Command
    4. Set up Great British Energy
    5. Crack down on antisocial behaviour
    6. Recruit 6,500 new teachers
Starmer says he is ready to step up and change Britain.

Any party that comes to power after this shambolic governments wrecking of the economy are in for a huge shock. If Labour does win they are going to find that they have inherited huge debts and a list of things that need to be done and that will take over 20years to achieve.

    • @mariefoulstone2813

That just sounds like what the conservatives inherited from Labour when they took power many years ago. Labour even left a note saying the coffers were empty! And they didn't have to pay out huge amounts for the consequences of covid.

The debt is not the issue. It is lower than it was after world war two. It is arbitrary anyway. There is no debt in reality. Governments can borrow at lower interest rates to invest but due to its commitment to Thatcherism, including austerity, Labour will not borrow to invest in infrastructure.

The six steps needed: (1) Start reversing Brexit (at least rejoining the single market, with freedom of movement to help healthcare/agriculture, etc.). (2) Introduce a form of PR, and a democratically elected second chamber. (3) Affordable house building on a scale not seen since the end of WWII (and rent caps - we need the rents that the EU nations enjoy). (4) End dependence on oil/gas (we have 100% capability to be totally renewable energy-wise). (5) Introduce a wealth tax and radically reduce the gap between haves and have nots. (6) Process asylum seekers in Calais, and give safe passage to successful applicants - get them to work in sectors that Brits can't be arsed to. If only Starmer had the guts ...

Blair is the most despised man in the country….
Blair took us into one war on a false prospectus and another on a false premise. It is no wonder that many brand him a war criminal. His domestic policies were also a disaster - do you remember all those targets and botched short-term policy announcements (often initiated with the intention of burying bad news). What about his relentless use of PFI in his dash to spend, spend: a form of off-balance sheet finance - crippling in both its scale and expense. This ruinous financial policy does not get nearly enough publicity. He was Mr Quick Fix extraordinaire. Blair (and his two Machiavellian lieutenants, Mandelson and Campbell) have been a disaster for our country - it is no wonder that well over a million peopled petitioned for Blair not to be accorded the highest civil honour, Knight of the Garter but he took it. If ever anybody has milked the system, it is Blair. He ought to be on community service and be locked up in the Tower of London. He's a national disaster and disgrace.

World War three is almost upon us nobody can deny this fact. Europe is in the same danger that we are in. Let’s sort out our own mess and start preparing for the worst which now looks closer to becoming a reality. It’s about time we all woke up and fast! I believe that there is a more sinister reason for mass immigration. Just think about what could occur if WW3 began? We might find ourselves surrounded by soldiers that we assumed were migrants. Never underestimate shrewd intelligence.
