I met Carvin over 25 years ago at Char's has the Blues. Granted he doesn't have the best voice but that is BC at the age of 22 he had to have throat surgery. He didn't think he'd ever be able to sing again. But he can jam a guitar like nobody's business! He was voted one of the top 50 greatest guitarists of all time! He's just a real down-to-earth type of guy and I just love him!!! I when I get the time I'm going to try to find out where he's playing now..
I dig his voice. Its unique, like hes been eating gravel all day in the hot sun. Lol I lustenedvto his studio track of just got paid, this morning and was thinkung. Man thats cooler than ZZ Top did it! Lol

He's a song stylist. It's more about the music though. The singing just accompanies it. I think his voice is perfect for blues though. He has a good voice to me.
I met him around 20 years in some quiet pub in England. He shredded the blues and played with his teeth and seriously inspired me. I was about 12 when I saw him. Pretty incredible that I still remember that gig, his name and was able to find this!
Me too! Same situation but in south of Spain... this guy does something special to people in his shows... we are able to remember his name and his show through the time 😅
Carvin as i understand it.. will be playing in Payson, Arizona sometime in April of 2024!! I am looking forward to seeing his ability to shred the blues!!
His style is like SRV's. I don't see how they play those notes in that fashion. Like Angus Young never looks like he's playing the notes you hear. In all that hand flailing, they have exquisite fingertip control that you can't see unless you slo-mo it. The next great bluesman.

He changed the words from SRV songs and tried to call them his own!!! You can't do that!!! You sound badass bro, make your own tone and songs, or play the originals with the original lyrics.

SRV copy cat. Get your own style. Your guitar, technique, sound are all Ala SRV. You have to learn a mix bag of sounds and create your own not just copy someone else.

His technique, his bends, his pauses..he is a good player, but if you want to be unique you have to come up with your own style and sound. If you listen to any great guitar player, they had influences but came up with there own twist to how to play the notes they learned. Obviously SRV took a mountain of notes from Albert King, but he added his own Texas flare to it. Clapton...Freddie King. I can go on if you like, but if you are worth your salt then you should know what I am talking about. Anyone cam learn to copy someone and put on a show, but if you really want to stand out you have to become unique. This guy is trying but he isn't unique.
