    as usual, great video. I'm always interested in people testing out tuners.

    Hi, Turners works because I use them, Now the rifle you are shooting would have a headspace of about 00.043 and that's the standard to cover a large selection a ammo. Match rifles that are set up to shoot just Eley Match have a Recommended headspace 00.040-00.041 in. so when you change ammo to three or four different brands with different rim thickens you are going to get a different point of impact . I hope this helps. oh bullet speed needs to be matched to the barrel too. cheers

    I've been playing with tuners for 3 years. If you buy a market turner thread to barrel, no help. I've make my own. It tunes the barrel from front to the breach. Tuners to control barrel whip is wast of money. However to control harmonics, you will make more consistent shots. Wa Brown

    Semper FI Brother; This Disabled Vet loves this. I wish my range was closer 24 miles away. I have a 25 meter indoor range I shoot alot. You are doing great.
    Looking for a bench rest.

    I also believe it’ll make a good shooting barrel shoot better but they definitely can’t make a bad shooting barrel shoot good/great

    Not used a tuner on 22 LR as I don’t own one but they work great on my center fire rifles

    Tuners do make a difference. Any benchrest match will have plenty of rifles with tuners on the line. When testing mine, I fired 20 groups of 3 shots each, moving one full number between groups. Then I selected the most promising groups and shot two or three 5 shot groups at those settings. The best average of the groups was then chosen and final fine tuning was done.

    Love/hate kinda gun. Love the challenge, hate to spend that kinda money when you could get better results out of a Rossi. I think the firing pin needs some attention. Those fliers with center-x, leads me to believe it's the gun, not the shooter or the ammo.

  • @Sagittariustoo
    @Sagittariustoo 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Eli, fliers are "mean" to me too, lol. 🙂
    I have an ATS barrel tuner on my Vudoo that shoots a ragged one-hole group; ATS recommends 2 shot groups to save on ammo and time until you get to the setting you like.
    You might try no more than a 3 shot group with your tuner and see what happens, just a suggestion.

    My Christensen Arms ranger shoots pretty good. I put a Jard trigger in it and the trigger boogered up. I still gotta take take a look at the trigger. I need to fix it or put the old trigger back in for now and try the Captain America Challenge.

    Christensen arms just mass produces their barrels and chambers. They never shoot groups. They hope the cnc lathe is cutting good that day and ship it. Most dont send it back and they make profit

    Is a tuner worth buying if your not budgeted to buy higher end ammo to begin with?

    • @Dayattherange
      @Dayattherange  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Depends on what you mean high end. Lapua CenterX is about the bet I can do but consider it mid tier. It makes a difference in almost every brand I have tested with.

      @Dayattherange guess I should of specified better im talking about price points of norma tac 22,norma match 22,sk std plus, sk semi auto.cci std velocity,etc

    • @Dayattherange
      @Dayattherange  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@paulklescht1029 I would say yes it will make a difference. Though I wouldn't even touch Norma Match I have not found that ammo to shoot in ANYTHING to make it worthy of the match name on the box. In that price range try Norma TAC22 and SK Rifle Match with a Tuner.

    I just got one of these and shot it for the first time last saturday. For a hunting rifle it is meh. The trigger is awful. Whoever thought it was a good idea to put that heavy of a trigger in a gun that light is an idiot. Going to try a trigger tech diamond. When i shot Saturday we had 10mph winds. Not bad. Not great. Last empty does not eject it almost gets pulled back into the mag. Hoping that works itself out. I was shooting with a dead air mask suppressor. Shooting cci subs. Eley hp subs and rws hp subs. I had one good group with rws. That did not happen again. Nothing was in the .5 moa range at 50 yards. Maybe a good cleaning and more shooting will get barrel dialed in. My cz457 royal is a tack driver tho. This gun is overpriced 500 dollar gun definitely not a 800 dollar gun.

    I may be speaking out of school but I think the tuner is hocus pocus. If you repeat this test starting with the #1 setting and then progress up to #9 I think you might get a different result.

    • @Dayattherange
      @Dayattherange  21 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I don't think you are speaking out turn dude you are welcome here along with your thoughts. I do think they work based on my experience but you would have to perform the test with the same exact ammo on the same exact day in the same conditions. I wished my local indoor range would allow me to use camera's it would give a much better representation.

  • @brianturner7919
    @brianturner7919 26 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Before I'd ever begin testing a tuner I'd lot test ammo until I had found the smallest group the barrel would do. Usually, you'll forego the tuner. Lot testing is everything.

    • @Dayattherange
      @Dayattherange  26 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Lot testing is great but I have seen tuners on some rifles even improve upon the lot testing. Though LOT testing today with the scarcity of ammo is even harder.
