This reminds me of watching old war movies when they are firing artillery and making corrections, maybe it's the mechanics in everything without the assistance of computer technology. I enjoyed watching, looks like fun.
@@FClassJohn John I fully understand please do not feel pressure sir as I love watching these events as well. Bringing US TOGETHER one range trip at a time. Take care.
So well done. The game in a pure form. It really changes from 100 to 200. You just have to go do it to understand. I love the purity of this video of FCJ's. I have been "told" and I'll invite John's opinion, that shooting a 22 RF at 200 is similar the the difficulty of shooting a 7MM caliber at 1k yards? Awesome stuff John. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words. I'd say the challenge is similar. I've heard a few different comparisons for 22 vs Centerfire at disance such as 22 at 600yds is good practice for a mile and 200yds for 1000 centerfire. I'd say it feel about right although it's always weird comparing when the ammo isn't under your control 😂.
That's some insane accuracy! My first attempt at 200 with a Rem.597 I hit 19 of 20 on a ten inch plate. Way too easy, or so I thought. Last time I tried on paper, full of confidence and way to cocky😅 Shot at a 2" paster couldn't see anything, tried again same deal. Very bad mirage. I moved down to the target 5" I just went for it. Ended up with 11 out of 20 on paper, not near as good as hoped. Learned a valuable lesson, decrease magnification to see through the mirage! And the rifle is not going to shoot the same from day to day! Anyway, great job at 200, it ain't easy!❤❤❤
@@FClassJohn I figured it is on the right not a big deal John. Just be cool to see the flags and the POI Shift like you guys do for us in the V2 Points videos. Outstanding shooting at 100, wind gods got us at 200 a few times, I am learning more about holding F TR with you guys than I thought, Being a FNG to F Class coming from Sling. Keep up the great work.
I'm just getting into rimfire and I'm having more fun with it than centerfire. At only 100-200 yards the wind really plays a role which is something I need a lot more practice with.
What kind of groups will your rifle shoot at 200 yd. without conditions? I am a smallbore prone shooter (sling), and my local club holds a monthly 50-100-200 yd prone match. I struggle with the 200 yard stage because when I bench my rifle in good conditions it won't even hold the x-ring. Great video, I enjoyed it!
Nice shooting! Maybe some bad wind calls in the 200 yard lane. But terrific score anyway. Since i am unable to get 200yds rimfire f class targets where i live, i was wondering whether a f class full bore 300 yds target could be used in this case. Greetings from Brazil!
Is the scope a MIL or MOA? Looks MIL to me. Makes that groups at 100yards about .3mil (approx 1") and at 200yards about .5mil (approx 3.5"). Pretty excellent results considering the wind. The vertical dispersion at 200 looks excellent with the Lapua Long Range ammo.
Dope isn't scope specific and will vary depending on load, elevation and other factors so it's hard to give you actual numbers plus I haven't shot a Shehane in over 5 years. I would suggest downloading a free ballistic app like the Lapua app and just get some basic velocities for your cartridge and then enter your specific environmentals such as altitude and you'll have a really close number at any distance you choose no matter where you shoot.
I agree this tends to be more about mechanical skills and wind calls... Doesn't take anything away from John but its different from most other shooting competition when you use so much gear to take the shooter out of the equation.
Agree what will the rule be if I get a vise and clamp the gun down. I what to join a club by my house they shot 200 yards open sight standing and gun resting on a 2x4 guys hitting 10 inch target that’s more realistic then this shit
@@Adamhawk1994 I actually talked to Derek a couple months ago and was thinking about sending my gun in to have them go through. I do know they build some amazing rifles so I’ve considered it pretty heavily.
Sometimes it just makes a hole and other times you blow it out of the target and the person pulling targets has to get a new one and repair the hole in the target. It actually sucks when that happens becuase it takes time and can throw off your rhythm, especially when I shoot F Class.
Hey brother, I think you might need to check the new TH-cam guidelines. I don't think you can post links to Firearms related stuff in your videos, or offer discount codes anymore. I don't want to see you get shut down. Enjoy your content! I looked to see if there was an email for you, as opposed to making a comment, but couldn't find anything. I could be wrong, but you shoudl check, a bunch of people are having issues. Feel free to delete this comment or ask me to.
Yeah I've been following and working on that and it's clear as mud right now but I appreciate that. I'm doing what I can to stay on the right side of things and I may end up cutting that part out shortly out of an abundance of caution. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the support.
Another great honest video John, Great job on your 100 yard perfect score!! I compete Fclass at 200 yards at club match’s using the A-21 NRA targets and long shot cameras. Several of your calls looked sketchy but scored well! Probably a few you would like back. I agree that ammo may have had a few fall outside the 10 ring. Feeding issue? Where do you get the plug for scoring? We really need a few out here as the scores are frequently within 1-2 points. Thank you for a great inside look at a great sport!

@FClassJohn I just signed up to do a 200 yard challenge from @long rifle channel! Should be fun!
Shooting a better group with a .22lr at 100 than my .223 does haha.
Nice Shooting, but that setup sure helps make it a bit easier.
Thank you and yeah, the setup sure doesn't hurt, I acknowledge that.
Love it John, only wish we could see the flag too .
Yeah I’m working on that part. Not always easy because of where they put them.

I can't say for sure but what we're using it's an F Class 22LR target, it's some other full bore target I think. X ring at 100 is 1" and at 200 is 2".

Yep it takes a carbon ring right out.
The bullet central discount code doesn't seem to be working? Was that not supposed to be in the video?
Not sure, that's weird and I'll have to look into it. I'll keep you updated.
Hi john check out fly shooting in australia we shoot 22lr at 200yards and there is quite often sub 1 inch 5 shoot groups it’s great fun.
we also can see bullet holes at that range with our scopes as well. most run nightforce 42x or higher
Silly question… which 22LR target scoring plug are you using?
I don't remember where I got it but it may have been Killoughs or Creedmoor.
John
Can you share some dope on the March 8 x 80
600 to 1000 yards? For 284 Shehane.

You like the Leupold better than the Athlon ?
Yeah for sure, but also much different price points.
I’m sorry I don’t see the attraction, please explain what skill is required?
Go win then. Everyone has been waiting for someone like you to come and show them how it is done.

Who built your 22 John? Chamber job?
It's a factory Vudoo V22s. It's a lapua chamber, that's all Vudoo does.

What scope do you use for 22 long rifle
Currently using a Leupold Mark5HD 5-25 although I may get a 7-35 for it soon.
What is the name or brand of the vise or stand ?
My front rest? It's a Seb Neo X
How big is the x ring at 100 and 200
1" at 100 and 2" at 200
What ammo?
It's Lapua Long Range

Wow! Benchrest 22 at 100 yards, in a trench with Lapua long range and you're holding off. Pack up, go home and sell your rig to someone with talent.
