@@OLskewL are you saying that those who choose to obey God by keeping his Commandments and his laws cannot enter the kingdom of Heaven? 🤣 who do you think the dragon is coming to make war with in the end days?
“Then the dragon became furious with the woman and went off to make war on the rest of her offspring, on those who keep the commandments of God and hold to the testimony of Jesus. And he stood on the sand of the sea.”
      ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12‬:‭17‬
Jesus did come to fulfill the law. As well as the prophets! So if he did away with the law, then Shirley, he did away with the profits as well. The word fulfill is pleroo in the Greek which means to fully do or fully preach. And we can do them.
“For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.”
      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭5‬:‭3‬ ‭
Those who claim against keeping God‘s commandments or laws don’t realize that they are teaching to live a life of sin since sin is lawlessness.
“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness.”
      ‭‭1 John‬ ‭3‬:‭4‬ ‭
So in other words, to repent from sin is to turn away from lawlessness and start keeping God‘s commandments.

Our "Torah-observant" friends often put all their "eggs" in the basket of Matt. 5:17-20. And the problem is that the Bible consists of more than just those four verses. So, if we interpret Matt. 5:17-20 as teaching that the entire Law of Moses will be in effect until Heaven and Earth pass away, we then need to explain the 5 biblical examples in this video, which unequivocally show that the Mosaic commands regarding sin atonement, the priesthood, the temple, etc. have all changed in material ways.

Yeah, and they usually concentrate on the 17-19 and don't think about what 20 actually means. "Unless your righteousness is GREATER than the legal experts and the pharisees you will not enter the kingdom of heaven." Well, I know that I could never be greater than the legal experts at keeping the law. So what, no one gets in? Only a select few? Then what was the point of Christ?

Then my friend, YOU have a problem. Jeremiah 31: 33, New covenant , same law.
The Torah deniers hammer the same empty hermaneutic as well.
You say it's no longer binding , it has completely been done away with , aka, destroyed.
Making the Messiah a liar when he clearly stated that He didn't come to destroy it, and that Heaven and Earth would pass before the smallest part of the law would.
As well, G4137 pleroo, also means cram, level up. The "fulfil" part of the definition is listed under " idiom ". You can figure THAT out, but it's crystal clear to me by the ratio happening in here that most people already know.
As well, if it is done away with, which is the fully ended part of your argument, explain Romans 3:31. There is your writer of Galatians stating how we should treat the Law.
#1 & 2 & 3 & 4 & 4.5: exactly. The Messiah DID completely ATONE for the sins of ALL mankind. I don't do animal sacrifices, and the Levitical priesthood was done away with along with the ONLY place YAHWEH said to do them in 70 AD. I 100 % agree ALL those have been done away with. Just because parts of His law are unable to be kept, doesn't mean we don't keep the rest.
Now let's examine YOUR understanding of the scripture and allow people to see how the Messiah showed the Levitical priesthood to be corrupt and rotten, and, how we see today's religious establishment piosoning believers by teaching the 2 Timothy 4:3 doctrine.
What were the 2 greatest commandments the Messiah spoke of? Matt 22:36-40.
Where are they found? The first is found Deuteronomy 6:5 , second Leviticus 19:18.
Both found in the Torah, Yahweh's Law.
So what you are telling people is directly against what the Messiah said.

Concerning the destruction of the temple 2000 years ago, he stated that why would God allow the destruction of the temple if the Mosaic law is still in effect? Will that was not the first time that the temple was destroyed. Solomon's Temple was destroyed by the Babylonians and Nebuchadnezzar and the temple was not rebuilt for over 70 years after that. And the Mosaic law was not done away with during that time.

What's interesting is that when that first temple was destroyed and Israel was sent into exile, God specifically told them their exile would last 70 years (Jer 25:9-13) and what they should do while in exile (Jer. 29). But that was not the case with the destruction of the second temple.

So, if all of the Law if Moses was discarded by Jesus, the Word (i.e., Torah, Prophets, Writings, Gospels, Epistles, and Revelation made flesh), then why did Jesus command people He healed to go and do what Moses commanded at the Temple?; why did Paul circumcize Timothy right after the Council at Jerusalem where they decided that new converts should be taught 4 basic commandments from the Torah?; why did Jesus never say one word against the Sabbath but instead reminded people that it's lawful to do good on the Sabbath? Let's say someone suddenly invents a teleportation device costing consumers only $1. Overnight all traffic laws would, indeed, be rendered meaningless ... but that wouldn't necessitate the abolishment of all laws governing other areas of life. Similarly, Jesus' self sacrifice on the cross did render all laws pertaining to the priesthood and animal sacrifice at the Temple obsolete, but that doesn't mean that all laws were so rendered. Indeed, in Hebrews 4 we read about the ongoing necessity of Sabbath-observance, not for salvation but, yes, for both our good and for obedience's sake (i.e., obeying God's behavioral do's and don'ts from a heart of love and humility is always valid, which is why, when Jesus explained who will enter and who will not enter His kingdom, He gave nothing more and nothing less than lists of behaviors, something that the Parable of the Talents also implies). Indeed, the last few chapters of Acts are all about Paul standing up against "false" accusations that, in teaching about Christ, he was simultaneously preaching against the Law. Paul's own behavior showed that he upheld the Law, even 14 years after his conversion and longer. In Matthew 5:17-23 Jesus upholds the Law, emphasizing how none of it shall pass away until after heaven and Earth pass away. I believe He was overstating His point in order to make it clear, just like when He told followers that, in order to follow Him, they would have to eat His flesh and drink His blood. Jesus knew full well that His death and Resurrection would render unnecessary part of the Torah commandments, but ... still, He wanted to make sure that no one would interpret future events as an indication that all of the Law had been done away with. Indeed, a better word selection for the Greek "pleroo" in Matthew 5:17, traditionally translated with the English word "fulfill," is "fully preach," "fully reveal," or "fully make known" ... translations that align much better with the context of the immediate verses, whereas "fulfill" does not fit. Consider: The Torah was the Word that Paul commanded the Bereans to test his teachings against. Lastly, I know that arguments from silence generally are not strong ones, however, it's simply true that in all of the places in the New Testament where one would expect to read words from Paul, Jesus, and others denouncing the Law and teaching a replacement doctrine, we simply do not find them. Again, Paul ended up in Rome ultimately to spread the Gospel, yes, but it all started with him having to stand before various rulers in defending his reputation as a Torah-observant Christian. A good video to watch is 119 Ministries' "Which Law, Paul?" on TH-cam or www.testeverything.net.

Please keep reading in Galatians 5! You stopped at the end of verse 2, but in verse 4 Paul clarifies exactly what he was admonishing them about, namely: "You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be JUSTIFIED by law(-keeping); you have fallen from grace" by trying to use the Law as a vehicle for salvation. He gives the same warning in much of his writing, including Romans. You have fallen into the error of Dispensationalism. It's not about Law vs. Grace, it's about Law AND/WITH Grace. Jesus said that we must live by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God; "every" means every. Thank you, brother. This is good for us to 'debate' in love.

@@OneSparrow-76 I think JeffSmith is talking about the “works of the law” as the yoke of slavery (Galatians 3:10). The works of the law are not the Law of Moses, but the law of men. But actually Gentiles who became Christians were instructed as to what portion of the Law they needed to keep along with the moral law, which is universal (Acts 15).
For historical purposes, we need to remember that at the beginning of the first century there was no Christian religion, but a branch of Judaism called “The Way” or Netzarim, which was made up of Jews and Gentiles (only later in Acts 11:26 they're called christians for the first time). Because of some Pharisee believers who wanted the Gentiles to keep the entire Torah, the apostles called the council of Jerusalem in Acts 15.
Returning to the present day, Jews from the Messianic Judaism keep their culture and the Torah, except for the laws of sacrifice (because Jesus has already completed in perfect form) and others that are fullfilled by the authorities.
The Body of Christ will be made up of Jewish believers and Gentile believers in harmony, loving one another as oneself. This is the Church.

AND- I am finding that asking the Hebrew roots believer certain questions, tells you even more about them. They are making claims that they are “keeping Torah“. So I’ve begun asking them questions directly from the Torah that they claim to keep. They downplay Christians who go to church on Sunday, and claim that they are “keeping Shabbat” while gathering Each Saturday. When I ask them about all the work that they do on Saturday in setting up tables and chairs, cooking lunch, cleaning pots and pans after lunch, sweeping in mopping floors after Shabbat and I mentioned that I believe that is classified as “work“, they don’t answer it. In other words while they say that they are keeping Shabbat, according to Torah, I really don’t believe that they are. And while claiming to eat “biblically clean“, they eat in restaurants that cook pork and shrimp on the same grill that their chicken was cooked on. And they purchase deli meat, such as beef and chicken, but it is cut with the same meat cutter/slicer that the ham is cut on. These are legitimate questions. When I read the Torah, it looks pretty strict about contamination. The big question is this. If you are really claiming to keep Torah, ARE YOU REALLY???

I found one article about the poem. It didn't quote the whole poem but It was an anti-Isaiah article, so no bias in my favour there.
Yes, Isaiah does condemn the literal drunkenness of the priests & prophets, and I can believe that Isaiah may have subtly referenced this poem in order to rub the message in - maybe.
But if you think that's all there is to it, I don't think it's me that needs to read the whole passage (chapter 28).
Firstly, whats the problem with the drunkeness?
It results in these people being unable to correctly discern the truth - see v7.
Secondly, it's far more serious than just literal drunkenness.
They are also deliberate purveyors of lies & falsehood - see v15.
Thirdly, Isaiah referring to them as drunks is also condemning of their unclean spiritual state, they are not only physical drunkards they are drunkards spiritually.
This is what v8 means when it says; "For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean."
(The Bible also uses filthy clothes to indicate spiritual uncleanness.)
If you think v13 is only about literal drunkenness and nothing else, how do you explain v9&10?
V9 makes the point, that in order to learn knowledge & understand doctrine you have to be a spiritual adult, not a spiritual baby.
And v10 explains how you get this knowledge & understanding of doctrine.
It says; "FOR", in order to learn knowledge & doctrine, "... precept MUST be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:"
It's not possible to make v10 about drunkenness, it's clearly about how God/the Bible teaches knowledge & doctrine.
      As v9 has already said, its about;
"Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine?"
Also if v13 is drunkenness then v10 would logically also have to be drunkenness - and that makes zero sense.
      Why?
Because that would mean, that in order to learn knowledge & understand doctrine (v9), God is recommending drunkenness as the best way to go (v10).
V13 follows on from v9&10 and states what happens if you don't follow the instructions already given in v9&10.
V13 is presented as the opposite of v10 and restates the instruction of v10.
V13 is clearly saying, if you don't follow the instructions of v10 you will: " ... fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."
In other words you won't learn knowledge & you won't understand doctrine.
If you think simplistically, this is just about drunkenness and nothing else, you have not been weaned from the milk, or drawn from the breasts.
No, not Adventist, it's much worse. Will elaborate if you so desire.

The law was added to highlight humanity's need for a Savior and to make people aware of their sinfulness. Before the law, sin was still present in the world, but the law made it explicit and undeniable. Paul explains that the law was given so that "the trespass might increase" (Romans 5:20). This means that the law was designed to expose sin and make people conscious of their need for God's grace.
In Galatians, Paul further clarifies that "the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith" (Galatians 3:24-25). The law served as a temporary measure to guide people until the coming of Jesus, who fulfilled the law and offered a new way of righteousness through faith.
Additionally, the law was never intended to be a means of achieving righteousness. Paul states, "For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law" (Galatians 3:21). Instead, the law pointed out humanity's inability to achieve righteousness on their own, thereby pointing them to the need for a Savior.
In summary, the law was added to reveal sin, to act as a guardian until Christ, and to show the impossibility of achieving righteousness through human effort (Romans 3:20, Galatians 3:19).

In find it interesting, that when someone/some group wants to ignore or create a new 'tradition' they always use the terms 'old testament' or 'old covenant'. But, when they want to provide verses to prove (whether valid or not) that they don't have to or need to do these things anymore - then most of the time they say "because Scripture says... ".
Well, it didn't take but a couple of minutes for Mr. Solberg to do the 'old junkie testament opposed t the new shiny Scripture' move.
Roman's 2:13 I guess would create a great debate about which laws we are to keep. Roman's 2:27 to me seems to shade it more to the keeping of All of God's law - yes except for those that pertain to sacrifices and temple rituals since there is no temple. Plus, doesn't it say in Isaiah or Revelation that when the new heaven and earth are established that all will come to God's holy mountain to offer sacrifices again?

@@kimartist 《Sabbath long preceeded "Moses." God began His Sabbath rest on Day 7 & has been resting ever since. See Hebrews 4 to understand why every day is Sabbath for those who believe.》
You say, "God *began* His Sabbath rest on Day 7"
God says, "he *rested* on the seventh day" (Genesis 2:2)
God says, "he *had rested* from all his work" (Genesis 2:3)
You say, God "has been resting ever since"
God says, "My Father works hitherto, and I work" (John 5:17)
If you are teaching people to break God's laws, you are a believer of someone but it's certainly not God.
Even the very title of this video is a deception & a lie.
"Why we cannot follow the Gospel of Jesus AND the Law of Moses at the same time"
The law of Moses is the law of God. It's the law God gave to Moses. It's not & never was Moses's law.
      Therefore an honest title of this video would be;
"Why we cannot follow the Gospel of Jesus AND the Law of God at the same time"
So it's a choice of follow Jesus or follow God is it?
I have some bad news for you.
When Jesus returns he intends to enforce, what you deceptively call, the "law of Moses".
Now, why would that be do you suppose?
      Zechariah 14:
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the Lord will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

@Vincent-gc3cuJesus addressed the Sabbath, he taught us when to worship, how and why. He talked about how the preists profaned the Sabbath and how he was Lord of it. He also said, true worshipers would worship in spirit and truth. Not law. Read Galatians 5 :18 and 23. He said we are the temple! Where 2 or more are gathered in his name he is in the midst. Everyday is the Sabbath as in everyday we keep holy, not just on Saturday. Not only did Jesus fulfill the law, he said we fulfill all of it when we love each other. Again, see galations and almost the whole book of romans. Love is the fulfillment of the law. But should only be done an Saturday, lol. Just kidding. I’ve been watching your videos on the Sabbath and I’m a bit confused. The Sabbath was given only to the Jews and was a sign between them and God but you say you have no issue with anyone who wants to observe it as long as it is not for salvation. People can go to church any day of the week but they cannot “keep” or hold holy what God has set aside. We rest in Christ and awake the sabbath rest of God when we die. Please help me understand how you can hold to the end of the law (meaning everything has been fulfilled and set aside) and yet the observance of the Sabbath of one chooses. Thank you! @schnittteisen The law (i.e. Mosaic covenant) was the framework by which Jesus' death became salvatory. It wasn't enough just to kill Jesus, there had to be a legal framework which made His expiation legally binding for all time. The problem the Torahists have is they are focusing on non-salvific portions of law (food & days), patting themselves on the back for it & missing the entire point of Jesus' death. They say their law-keeping activities aren't for salvation, but the ENTIRE POINT of the Mosaic covenant was FOR SALVATION. It's like missing the forest for the trees.

Anyway, I've posted some of my short time experience w/the HRM folks a few times. I won't post the name of the man they were folllowing; although he does have a channel.
Or at least did the time I came upon him & to chat w/others you had to link in w/your email addy/phone# & give a real or made up moniker. It really bothered them, if when you logged on, you didn't sign in publicly or if you signed on as a "guest".
Anyway, when I came upon the channel, yes, as you've mentioned ... at 1st I was curious, etc. Oh I couldn't believe that I was celebrating Christmas, a "pagan" holiday to the HRM. I threw out all my Christmas decor & told my family that I no longer observed that particular day (the 25th).
One of the things that REALLY irked the "inner circle" of the group was that I was using Jesus' name instead of "Yeshua" or one of several names they used. I felt as I was pressured into changing my moniker from Jesus to Yeshua.
Also, at least 2 of them said Paul's letters gave them headaches, as well as calling "Christians" names or having a hatred of them.
Oh I could go on & on, but I'll just mention a couple other things.
They were really diligent about keeping the Sabbath or Shabat? (Friday nite to Saturday nite) & the Feasts, etc. So I stopped working on Sunday.
Although, where I live, there are no HRM temples or people that I could locate; so all of my "interaction" w/them was done online. And I believe a few other members only commun-
icated in this way, concerning their faith.
Concerning questions. Yes, if anyone came on to chat & asked SIMPLE questions, unless you almost immediately agreed w/the HRM teachings, you'ld be bombarded w/negative comments.

Let’s deal with point 1 of the professors’s 4.5. Is Jesus the final sacrifice according to all the Scriptures? No OT prophets, except Moses, were quoted in his teaching. Ask yourself, does any writer of the Bible have more prominence than any other writer? Same Spirit right? So Rob made the case using the NT book of Hebrews. Let’s see what other prophesy is written by Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Zachariah regarding sacrifices that will occur in the future, which seems to contradict Rob's theology. I will not quote all of the verses, but only parts of them, you can look up the details.
    Isa 56:7b “…Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be acceptable on My altar;
For My house will be called a house of prayer for all the peoples.” We love to quote that last part without paying attention the other part. Isa 66:23 “And it shall be from new moon to new moon And from sabbath to sabbath, All mankind will come to bow down before Me,” says the LORD.” Those ordinances require sacrifices. Jer 33:14,17-18 “14 Behold, days are coming,’ declares YHWH…17…David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; 18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices continually.’” Ezekiel prophesies about the future temple; and yes I said future temple. Ezk 40:39 “…tables on each side, on which to slaughter the burnt offering, the sin offering and the guilt offering.” Ezk 43:18-19,21,27 “18…These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is built, to offer burnt offerings on it…19 a young bull for a sin offering….21 You shall also take the bull for the sin offering, and it shall be burned in the appointed place…”…27 the priests shall offer your burnt offerings on the altar, and your peace offerings; and I will accept you,’ declares Adonay YHWH.” Ezk 44:24 ”…They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts and sanctify My sabbaths.” Those all require sacrifices. Zach 14:21a “Every cooking pot in Jerusalem and in Judah will be holy to the LORD of hosts; and all who sacrifice will come and take of them and boil in them….”
So there you have some meat and not milk to wrestle with the theological view that there are no more future sacrifices. The whole premise of this teaching seems to be false. Be a noble Berean, and search your scriptures for yourself. Stay tuned for point 2.

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, you will probably find this response to your questions quite disappointing. Even though I try to follow all of Scripture/Torah the best I can, and agreed not even close to completely or perfectly, I CAN NOT harmonize Heb 10:18 with the prophecies in the OT. I would like to have all the answers for those issues, but I don’t. I am called by Faith to trust and obey/shamar all that has proceeded from the mouth of YHWH, his beloved Son my Savior Yeshua Hamashiach, and the Holy Spirit. There are many more passages in the OT about the continuation of the Law for eternity, than there are in the NT about it supposedly ending, that is just a fact, generally 100+ more. Did YHWH get that wrong? And that is what I believe others need to know about and should not always trust what they have been taught. What is taught are opinions with good intentions, but just man’s theological opinions, and we know how wrong the religious experts were in Yeshua’s day.
My opinion of what Yeshua’s crucifixion and blood did was somehow cover all of mankind’s sin in some way. If YHWH wants to start up sacrifices again as recorded in the text, who am I to say He is wrong and misguided. I am but dust. Stay tuned for passages that challenge points 2-4.5

@@flyguymt Thanks for your transparency, flyguy. I respect that.
I'm curious what you do with NT passages you can't harmonize, like Hebrews 10:18. For example, the Torah says, "And this shall be a statute forever (עוֹלָ֗ם) for you, that atonement may be made for the people of Israel once in the year because of all their sins" (Lev 16:34). And Hebrews 10:18 says that, because of the sacrifice of Jesus, "there is no longer any offering for sin."
As I see it, there are really only three options for harmonizing these passages:
      1. Reject Heb. 10:18 as false.
      2. Challenge the plain interpretation of Heb. 10:18.
      3. Study the use of the word "forever" (עוֹלָ֗ם, olam) in Lev 16:34.
Personally, I have found #3 to be the most biblical option because (a.) it harmonizes the two verses theologically, and (b.) it is consistent with the Tanakh's use of עוֹלָ֗ם (olam) which is often used to refer to a "long duration of undetermined length," such as the length of someone's life, rather than literally "forever." (See: Exod. 14:13, 21:6; Deut 15:17; 1 Sam. 1:22, 2:35, 20:23, 27:12, 28:2, 1 Chron. 28:4).

@@TheBiblicalRoots Rob, I like option 3 the best also. The word OLAM occurs about 413x in the Masoretic text. When I studied that word originally, I was trying to refute those darn HRMers, I discovered over 100x of the 413, it specifically referred to a situation of a long duration of undermined length. That to me indicated some kind of infinity. That was a major revelation towards accepting the text as written and leaving behind theology that teaches Torah is not in force still. There is definitely a distinction between the Hebrew word OLAM and the word AD and their use. Interesting that you brought up the use of OLAM in 1 Chron 28:4 about King David which again indicates a very long duration of time for his kingship. I say that because HRM theology allows for the Davidic Covenant be fulfilled in the Millennium with King David the prince of Israel providing the animals for all the sacrifices (Ezk 46:12). If there are no more sacrifices that is very difficult to harmonize. On that note,
nowhere in the Tanakh does YHWH tell us to harmonize his Torah. His followers are commanded to ob, native born as well as the alien who have joined themselves to YHWH. It could be argued that the religious leaders of Yeshua’s day crucified the Messiah because they couldn’t harmonize the Tanakh with the words Yeshua spoke. It seemed blasphemous to them, just as HRM seems theologically blasphemous to the work of Christ on the cross. Shalom Martin

Hi, Alex! The Torah has not been done away with. It is a part of Holy Scripture. Every Christian Bible begins with the Torah, and it is, therefore, “breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (1 Tim 3:16-17). More than that, the Law of Moses plays an important role in the life of a Christian. It witnesses against our sin (Rom. 7:7), points us to Jesus (Gal. 3:23-25), teaches us about God and the history of His people, offers wisdom and insight, deepens our understanding of the person and work of Christ, and challenges us to love God (Deut. 6:4-5) and love our neighbor (Lev. 19:18).
That said, *the Law of Moses is not binding on followers of Jesus as a body of legal requirements of obedience.* This is the consistent witness of the biblical authors across the NT (Acts 15:1-29; Rom. 7:6, 14:1-23; Gal. 3:24-25; Col. 2:16-17, etc.). This doesn't mean that Christians are without a law and can do whatever we want, of course! Jesus and NT authors give us many commands. Christians are absolutely called to live lives of love, service, purity, obedience, and moral virtue (Gal 5:13).

      Hi Rob.
      Thanks for your thorough response.
If you say, "the law of Moses is not binding on followers of Jesus as a body of legal requirements of obedience." Why did Jesus, Paul, and all other apostles still keep the law (as seen right across the NT, Acts 15:20-29, 21:20-24, 24:14)?
You also said that you can reconcile the OT and NT? But Jesus, Paul, and all the apostles did exactly that. They kept the sabbath, feasts, SACRIFICED, and the ate clean (not kosher).
I don't expect an answer this time, I know you only answer once.

I agree with a lot of what you say regarding folks in Hebrew roots who think their righteousness is in their works but you then go way overboard and entirely miss what Jesus instructed us to do. The spiritual mechanics in how He saves us is through the very laws you say don’t apply. Jesus said in Matthew 5: 17-20 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. 19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. 20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
First off the Pharisees judged by the law but they did not do the law them self. Jesus made this hypocrisy an open spectacle. Jesus said the law nor prophets will go away and that he came to fulfill them. When we read those parts of the law concerning ritual cleansing and indeed of sacrifices, it is amazing to see different aspects of what Jesus came to fulfill in our lives by his blood and through his Spirit! For example, there are sacrifices for atonement and sacrifices for peace offerings with Yah. The only way we could ever keep the law, indeed, is only available by being cleansed by his blood & faith that he will change our hearts by the work of his Spirit. I know what you’re saying to yourself right now, whoever said we had to be perfect? Well, Jesus did at the end of the same chapter Matthew 5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
And we know when we are given a command we are empowered by him to do it! John 3:16-21 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. 21 But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Wrought is a metalwork term which means to be beaten out, like his decorative metal is beaten into art. John gives us more detail in 1 John 1:5-10 5 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
Don’t get hung up on verse 10, keep it in context of the chapter. A lot of people think that we aren’t able to overcome sin. That’s not what this chapter is saying continue reading the whole book of first John and you’ll see, particularly with the very next few verses in chapter 2. In fact, John gives us an image of what being transformed by Christ and his Spirit looks like in 1 John 3:1-10 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
Jesus’ apostle John says that sin is transgression of the law and that if we sin we have not known him (or his power). Because to know him is to experience him working in your life. To remain in him you are unable to sin because he is unable to sin. Following the law becomes his work in you and you walk in his righteousness. Hebrew roots walks by their own righteousness but when I follow God’s moral law it’s his work in me that allows me to do it. His righteousness not mine.
This brings us to which parts of the law remain. Acts 15 does a good job, but we shouldn’t think that we’re free from walking in the parts of God’s law that deal with morality. Jesus said all of the law hang on the first wall which is to love God with all your heart mind spirit body soul and I love your neighbor as yourself. When you do the first it causes you to want to live a moral life to be in sync with our Father. When we start to do that he fills us with his love so over and abundant that we love our brother where we never could before on our own. In Galatians and Peter we were told what people who won’t go to heaven look like, eg idolaters, murderers, slanderers, back-biters, etc. For each one of those things there are corresponding Mosaic laws. But when we walk in his Spirit he changes us and allows us to keep his law in perfection!

‘Then it will be righteousness for us, if we are careful to observe all these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us"(Deut. 6:25). It isn't smart to contend that Moses was wrong when he said that, especially when God had him say those words.

@@theeternalsbeliever1779 Moses wasn’t wrong! Yahshua didn’t come to destroy law or the prophets but to fulfill them AND they won’t be fulfilled until the end of earth. Can Jews perform ritual washing or sacrifices today? No, God took that away from them and Yahshua is why. Deuteronomy 4:2! Now I hear a lot of Hebrew roots people talk about doing the Torah, and that by doing so they are considered righteous by their working of the law, but they have to pick and choose which Torah laws they follow. Genesis 9:3. If you following the Torah laws concerning not eating certain foods, you ignore Genesis 9:3. This is worse when you judge someone who is not keeping kosher! If you look how Yahshua fulfills large portions of Torah law by Acts 15, for example, 1 John 3:1-10 makes more sense. Because you aren’t saved living in your sin unchecked! He came to destroy the works of the devil and because his Ruach can’t sin you shouldn’t be able to by default if he remains in you always and you in him. Sin is transgression of the law! So I agree that it’s important to study it, which is what Jesus taught in Matthew 5 closing by him commanding us to be perfect as our Father in heaven is (through him)!

Properly understood the keeping of the Torah is not bondage it is liberty.
A great deal of the NT can't be understood with out the knowledge of the Torah.
The feast days are prophetic in nature. The spring feasts, Pass over for example forshadowed the events from the crucifixion through pentecost.
The fall feast forshadow the second coming.
    Understanding this completely changed eschatology.
You are completely right, we do not need to sacrifice animals for the attonment of our sins any long. Does that mean it is now lawful to murder? Of course not.
The fulfillment of one component of the Torah does not negate the remaining majority of its body!
I also understand that a great deal of variety exists in the Torah movement. These differences are no greater than the theological difference within main line Christian denominations.

How can that be reconciled? Maybe with the priesthood of each christian and its almost certain that some of his decendands became christians? Also he didnt get promised the high priesthood for eternity. Or maybe there is a priest of the same name the son of Eli who brougth wrong fire on the altar, but it isnt explicitly said that this ends the levite priesthood, so personally i would say the first explanation is the better one, as the perpetual priesthood of Pinehas decendands isnt bound to a condition in this passage.
10 The Lord said to Moses, 11 “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal. 12 Therefore tell him I am making my covenant of peace with him. 13 He and his descendants will have a covenant of a lasting priesthood, because he was zealous for the honor of his God and made atonement for the Israelites.”(NKJV)

I would like to hear your opinion - what exactly is the "Law of Moses" - i.e what laws are included and what are not, and most importantly what is the reason for that statement. I have personally found that there are some important verses that need to be correlated between Gal 3 and Ex 24. There were laws given that were part of the covenant, the people heard these accepted them , then the book of the covenant was sealed, blood was sprinkled and the covenant confirming meal was eaten, that basically seals that agreement. AFTER this, God calls Moses up on the mountain again and gives him the tablets and "the Law" and the commandments to "TEACH THEM". This cannot be part of the covenant, since it cannot be added to as Paul explains in Gal 3. This is the school master part that we are no longer under - and it agrees well with the points you raised here in this vid. However the feasts, Sabbath, 10 commandments have nothing to do with re-conciliation, those are instructions in righteousness, if you chuck these out as part of Moses law, or of ceremonial stuff, you are basically sinning.

Not according to Jesus. He said that both those "who set aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly" *_and_* those who "practice and teach these commands" will enter the Kingdom of Heaven (Matt 5:19). Faith in Jesus is what is required to enter His kingdom, because when we place our faith in Jesus, His righteousness is credited to us.

For reason #1, you quote Hebrews 10. Examining the context, it’s referring to Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement). Then you have to ask why the author is mentioning Yom Kippur. You have to understand the service of Yom Kippur and its function.
Leviticus 16:16 says the purpose of Yom Kippur is to cleanse the Sanctuary of the sins of the people. It’s our sins that defile the Tabernacle/Temple.
And if you examine the sacrifices/offerings that involve sin, you see that it serves the same function. Purifying the sanctuary from the sins of the people. Jacob Milgrom does a good job of illustrating this in his books covering the book of Leviticus.
But in Numbers 15:30-31, it tells us there is no atonement for willful rebellious sin. The punishment is being cut off from the community, which back then basically meant death. But this is where Jesus comes in.
Adam and Eve committed rebellious sin. And according to the law, there is no atonement for that type of sin. And that is why death was brought into the world and we are under mortality. No matter how many times we atone year after year with Yom Kippur, we still die from the rebellious sin done by Adam.
But through Jesus, he paid that penalty. He went into the heavenly tabernacle and atoned with his blood. And now we have access to eternal life. This is what the Book of Hebrews is trying to explain. There’s a lot more information but I implore you to study the Book of Hebrews in the context of Yom Kippur. You need to understand Yom Kippur’s function to understand what the author of the Book of Hebrews is trying to portray.

Complete with the tree, mistletoe, chestnuts etc.
      Roman catholic church invented Xmas!
      The Christians follow the Catholics
Israel tried to worship God with their own traditions and God judged them for it!
Idolatry is something Israel struggled with throughout their history.
So they understand and recognize idolatry.
The Jesus that mainstream Christianity sells through traditions like Xmas is rightly recognized as idolatry by Israel, so I don't blame them for not accepting this Jesus that mainstream Christianity is trying to sell.
So somehow Christians expect God to accept their offerings of idolatry, when He wouldn't accept it from the Israelites, ..... because your Catholic/Christian!???

Hi, Debby! Yes, the "laws" of God that define right and wrong were true long before the Law of Moses was given. So when God commands us not to murder today, it’s not because of the Ten Commandments. It’s because of His universal principle against murder. Long before God gave Israel the Law of Moses, Cain was judged for murdering his brother Abel (Gen 4:8-16). Same thing with sexual morality. Under the New Covenant, God doesn’t forbid adultery because of the Ten Commandments. Unfaithfulness and sexual immorality were wrong long before the Law of Moses, as we see, for example, in the story of Sodom and Gomorrah (Gen 18-19). Because mankind was made in God’s image, we have a “compass” of objective morality, so to speak, baked into our human DNA. And under the New Covenant, God's law is written on our hearts.
The food laws are not a matter of morality in and of themselves. They are a matter of ceremonial or ritual purity. It is, of course, immoral to disobey God about anything He commands us to do. But eating animals, for example, that were not ritually slaughtered is not a matter of morality on its own. God was just fine with sojourners and foreigners eating those things (Deut 14:21). They were only forbidden for the Israelites.
The Bible teaches that the Law of Moses was given at a specific time to specific people for a specific purpose. Much of what was given at Mount Sinai included God's universal "laws" about right and wrong and loving God, which were in effect long before the Law was given. But the purpose of the Law of Moses was not to set a new moral standard. It was to turn a ragtag group of recent slaves into the nation of Israel and set them apart for God. And embedded in those Mosaic laws of ceremony, ritual, distinction, and civil order were shadows that pointed to Christ. And it's _those_ laws that have been fulfilled by Christ and are no longer binding under the New Covenant.
I teach and believe that obedience is God’s “love language.” Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments” (John 14:15). And I'm sure you would agree that not every command that God has given applies to every person at all times. Some of His commands only apply to certain people (i.e., men, women, parents, Levitical priests) or for certain times (i.e., building an ark, gathering manna, while in exile). And I'm sure you would also agree that we are each only expected to keep the commands of God that apply to us. The NT teaches that the ceremonial Mosaic commands do not apply to Christians today. (ex. Repeated blood sacrifices for sin are no longer required (Heb 10:18).) We still serve God and obey His commands, “But now we are released from the law, having died with Christ to that which held us captive, so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit and not in the old way of the written code” (Rom 7:6).

@@TheBiblicalRootsoh I'm flabbergasted, I can't read past this idea you just passed by this woman. That God changed His mind on adultery, that on the new covenant He's alright with it.
      Yikes!!!!!!
      GOD HATES ADULTERY PERIOD!
You obviously missed the part where Jesus condemns the woman to stoning!
At that moment, she was on deaths door!
The caveat was there was no one there who could cast the 1st stone. They may have all been guilty of this.
Jesus knew something was up, because where was the man that she was caught with!
When they all left, He had to let her go because He knew it was Torah to let her go!
It says there HAS to be 2 or 3 witnesses! That's Torah!
So she got off, BUT He warned her to not sin again. In other words don't be in an adulterous relationship again!
Paul gives us a list of the sin that leads to death and adultery IS on it!
YOU HAD BETTER STOP WITH ERRONEOUS TEACHING, BECAUSE GOD HOLDS THOSE WHO TEACH FALSLY TO HIGHER STANDARDS!

An endless religious focus on what we must do or not do creates a risk of distracting us from the one great thing that God calls us to do; "And this is His commandment, that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as he has commanded us" - 1 John 3:23. In the end when all is said and done, it is the redemptive work of Christ Jesus that is central to Scripture just as Revelation 5 tells us:
"And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent out into all the earth. Then He came and took the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.
Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying:
'You are worthy to take the scroll,
    And to open its seals;
    For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation,
    And have made us kings and priests to our God;
And we shall reign on the earth.'
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice:
'Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom,
And strength and honor and glory and blessing!'
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
'Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!'
Then the four living creatures said, 'Amen!' And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever." - Revelation 5:6-14
The law had one purpose...to be a harsh schoolmaster driving us to our knees to the feet of Jesus in repentance. Those who do not fully trust in the redemptive work of Christ tend to fall under the false belief that their works give evidence of their salvation as if God did not know who were His and who were not. They will focus more on what they have done and less on what Jesus has done and drag others into the legalistic hell they created. Thinking of all the works they did, they will be like those who Jesus spoke of when He said; "On that day many will say to me ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’" - Matthew 7:21-23

One more thing I observed, they “elevate”. Almost in a Gnostic type of way. They say they have a faith with the “deeper” things of God, elevating themselves above those who do not follow the Law.

The only problem with this video and the position taken by RL Solberg is that it contradicts the very Words of Jesus Himself and MANY Bible verses (in the New Testament) openly and plainly contradict this idea that we longer have to keep God's Laws. See 1 John 5:3, John 14:15, 1 John 2:4 He who says, I know Him, and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Luke 6:46, 1John 3:4 , John 8:11, Matt 5:48, Matt 22:36-38, Mark 12:28-30, Luke 10:25-28, Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12, 2 Peter 3:16-18, Deut 8:3, Matt 4:4. Paul also made sure that no one misunderstood him. Paul wrote: Well then, since God’s grace has set us free from the Law, does that mean we can go on sinning? Of course not! [Rom 6:15 NLT] Another powerful verse from Paul: For the grace of God has been revealed, bringing Salvation to all people. And we are instructed to turn from Godless living and sinful pleasures. We should live in this evil world with wisdom, righteousness, and devotion to God, as we await the Blessed Hope and glorious appearance of our Great God and Savior Jesus the Messiah. He gave His life a ransom to redeem us from all sin, to cleanse us, and to purify for Himself His very own chosen people, totally committed to doing good works. [Titus 2:11-14] A powerful quote from James (Jacob) - Regarding Works... You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone. [James 2:24] Finally, Jesus said: So if you break (disobey) the smallest Commandment and teach others to do the same, you will be least in the Kingdom of Heaven. But anyone who obeys God’s Laws and teaches them will be great in the Kingdom of Heaven. [Matt5:19]
