I learned so much! I have a few of Erica's bits but I have wanted to purchase some additional ones. Thanks for the awesome suggestions! I will be sure to use your code.
Thank you so much for this information! One question I have is about right-handed vs. left-handed. Does this mean that we should purchase a bit for the dominant hand, no matter if the file is in forward or reverse? Sorry...just learning. Thanks again! 🌸🌸💕💕
i wanted to ask about the bits, when should we replace them? every 6 months? or 4 etc? and for the sanding bands do I throw them out after each client ? as I plan on taking clients by march anddd my last question is how do you clean the bits and for how long? sorry for the multiple questions and this vid was really helpful ♡
It depends on the bits and how often you’re using them. Someone with a full clientele should be replacing bits around every 1-3 months (again depends on the bit). Sand band are a one time use only and then toss. Bits should be scrubbed with warm soapy water and then put into disinfectant, the time will depend on which one you use.
Question! What if you're doing yourself only does it matter if you get right or left handed bits when doing a full set on yourself? Like can you use the right handed bit when you want to do your left hand? Does that make sense? Lol I'm horrible when it comes to asking questions. 😅 So I hope you understand what I'm trying to ask. Thank you so much for going over these. I use a ball bit to remove my cuticles because I got tired of cutting myself with scissors or nippers. I only use them for the dead skin that's being stubborn.
Get whatever your dominant is! When I switch to working on my opposite (non-dominate) hand, I hold it in the same way as my dominate hand just upside down. It’s hard to explain, I may need to post a photo or video 😆
Thanks for the useful info! What classes did you take to feel comfortable with the efile and how long did it take you from starting to learn it to feel like you know what you were doing? Asking as a nail hobbyist who’s starting nail school next month :) Love your videos, I learn so much from watching you work.
Over the years I’ve attended classes from Atwood Industries, Erica’s ATA, Hilary Dawn Herrera, Iryna Zabiran and more! Congrats on starting nail school 😍🎉
Thank you for all your help and advice! Do you have any tips on a hangnail (piece of skin), that’s under the cuticle skin? it’s very hard to get to, and can’t buff away with bit it’s too sensitive? Ty! Oh! also do you use the 12 or 16mm boss lady nippers?
It’s hard to know what you’re describing without seeing a picture! I have both sizes of nippers, but the larger size can be a little bit for someone with smaller nails. ☺️
@@NailsByKatieDutra yes it’s hard to describe also..it’s in corner & underneath cuticle skin if that makes sense.. When I was doing prep I felt it w my bit and tried to buff away but it got sensitive and it’s hard to reach with nippers..do u recommend any other nippers (erica’s is out of stock) & I really need some good ones..Staleks is good brand but has so many options lol I don’t know which to get? Ty ❤️
I am not a licensed technician, I do my own nails at home as a hobby. I have a efile and use it but I'm looking for better quality bits than Amazon one's because they just aren't good. Do you have any reccomendations on bits for us hobbiest?
Please help! Can you recommend a good e-file I can purchase for less than $100, or even better less than $50. At the very least, can you recommend brand names that are usually reliable? I purchased one from a large online retailer, but it basically only had one speed (high) and since I am a beginner I was scared to use it. You so much for everything you post, I always learn so much from you :-)
I’m sorry but I really can’t. Cheaper low quality efiles have less torque, which means less power and more vibration. Making it difficult to do a good job. And the vibration can be uncomfortable for you or a client, plus excess vibration can cause lifting.

Love that! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Thank you! I’m glad you like them 🫶🏻😄💓

Heyy.. can you please make a video on removal of gum gel without e file machine
Not sure what gum gel is 🤔
@@NailsByKatieDutra it’s poly gel, popularly known as gum gel in India
your course have certification?
could you do a video about allergic reactions to builder gel and gel polish.
I JUST saw that polisher bit on I guess a short (no clue lol) that you did and I was like omg I must have that!! Thanks for all the great videos!
It’s soooo good! 😍
Thanks for the video, I was having a hard time deciding which bits to purchase from Erica’s ETA. Now I know 😊
Glad it was helpful!

Very informative video! Thank you!

Yes you purchase for your dominant hand, but it can only be used in forward. ☺️
Awesome video. It is very helpful TFS!!
You are so welcome!💗
Does the bit and the e file have to be from the same brand???🥰
It doesn’t ☺️
Are the Erica bits compatible with the Daisy DND portable efile?
I’ve never used that efile but all bits are standard sized 👌🏻
Thank you!! And thank you for all your content, love your channel!!
If I’m left handed, do I need to buy both left and right handed bits when switching hands?
Only for carbides 💓

@@NailsByKatieDutra wow thank you sm this is very helpful ‘
Great video! I have a probably stupid question.... can you use a nail drill to remove regular polish? Such as a chunky glitter
If you’re doing anything on the natural nail it has to be a Diamond bit. I’ve never seen anyone use an efile for that, but I’m sure it’s possible.

Hi! What coarse-ness of the diamond barrel do you recommend? Mostly for removing gel polish on natural nails and working with builder gel?
Medium ☺️

Hi Katie. 👋
Can a DYI 'er buy from the big store and efile? Or do I have to be licensed?
I don’t believe they require a license. ☺️
