Lord of the Rings Hair Tutorial - Arwen Flight to the Ford

- Catching up on some more Middle Earth braid style with this one. It's hard to tell what's really going on in Arwen's hair during this scene because she has dark hair and she's either in pitch black, or dashing through the forest in a frantic chase. So, this was the best research I could do, hopefully you enjoy it!
Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Hair Length: at least collar bone length
Materials: three small hair elastics
Skills needed: Fishtail braid
Time cost: 10-40 minutes
ideal hairtype: straight or wavy

My arm’s going to get so tired doing this but it’ll be worth it.
The hairstyle is pretty awesome looking and easy in theory, but it's definitely going to take me more time than 40 minutes :D ;(

Does this work with thick hair that is shoulderlength or a little bit longer?

I tried this but my hair does not look this sleek or cute. Probably more like Arwen's Flight to the Ford after she's also been dragged through some brambles and slept in it for a month or two. >_>

I love the look of fishtail braids, but my hair is naturally curly, and it's hard to get a defined plat when it puffs up once the tension lessons😂.

I have a question about keeping the hairstyle smooth. How do you do it? I have long hair (just beneath my bra strap) that is typically wavy and has breakage down the length. Whenever I braid my hair, my braids end up looking fuzzy, both in the braid itself and near the roots, crown and top of my head. It ends up looking like a hippie-like-mess of braids and I feel it would be better off left down. Help!
HelfyreTwilight Check out my haircare video, and then look up the "curly girl method" specifically. If the breakage is too bad though, it may be necessary to get a big chop in order to get your hair truly healthy :/

I just used this style to learn how to fishtail braid- I could only do half of it and my arms are dead. But now I know how to fishtail!! 🎉
Totally going to try the whole thing when my arms recover! I grew my hair out with the goal of doing some arwen styles so now im committed lol
Update! I did it again and managed to do the whole style! It's super cute and also looks good if you modify it for a ponytail if you want a quicker style that's good for a hot day :)

the wig used was 30 inches i believe with about 2 peoples worth of hair in it to make it extra thick.
so unfair isnt it :(
