I have been using Twilio for basic sms, integration with Google Voice, and basic forwarding and auto attendant. You will be surprise how affordable it is. I even have a couple of dedicated numbers in my lab just for testing. I also use Google Admin Voice but it is way more expensive. Give Twilio a chance and you will be always please.

You can literally say that about anything then… The code is established as a guide/template. No two environments are the same so you can “code” to customize to the needs of your stack.
