There's a lot of good in the Clone Wars animated series. There's also a lot of filler. But if you can power through the filler you will absolutely be rewarded with a lot of really great Star Wars characters and adventure.
The non-filler episodes are in general quite good. For every good story arc we get a filler arc that is just awful unfortunately. The arc with nothing but droids and that little bug guy still make me shudder.
I like that one. Gregor is a badass.
Toy Galaxy I think rebels made fans enjoy a lot of prequel movie characters that were meh before Rebels. maul, dooku, Palpatine, anakin etc.
What I appreciate most about the Clone Wars is 1) they manage to rehabilitate Anakin from the prequels. He's no longer an obnoxious, immature brat. He's a strong but flawed leader and 2) Ahsoka. She's wonderful and by the end of the show she probably ends up being the strongest character.
Show starts off a little weak but really gets its legs later on.

Rebels to me is like 7/10 while clone wars is a 10/10, makes the prequels way better

Yeah, I'm hearing a lot of conflicting sources. Battles, fallen comrades. It's surely not Battle Droid kills, that would be a hell of a lot of tallies.
That is not true. It is most certainly a kill count. Count how many there are. It's not a kill count of his overall tally from his career, he started doing it when he received his new armor.

Robo: You haven't seen Clone Wars?!? Dude. If you can find enjoyment in Rebels, you will effing LOVE Clone Wars. It starts off kind of uneven, but not nearly as uneven as Rebels. And the character development, storylines, animation, you name it; it's all top-notch. That show actually makes the Prequel era pretty kick-ass. You need to check it out before it gets yanked from Netflix, dude.
Robo-Killah: Watch Clone Wars, man. Seriously. The series is great on its own, AND it adds some much needed context & character development to the prequels. For real. Check it out, man.

what I find funny is that on the slip cover it shows the clone wars rex ( disernable by the kidney plate and belt )and the figure is what a movie design would look like
Now that we finally have Rex and that traitor Cody, we need Fives, Wolf and other high ranking clones. And the mini gun blaster(I love that thing)

That's what I was saying the dirt should be scattered sure good mud stains. But similar to a firefighters helmet shine disappears and matte dirt/smoke uniform across.

If you can get into Rebels then clone wars will blow you away the last few seasons at least

The Fwoosh you missed something!!!! His antenna/sight moves up and down just like Sabines! Great review as always. I regret buying so many FO stormies and OG stormies and not any clones. It would be nice if they released more single carded or packed ones.
You know, I saw that it plugs in and on the inside of the helmet I could see the inside of the plug, but I couldn't get it to turn, only bend at the base.

If you can't commit to watching the whole of the Clone Wars I suggest you watch episodes 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Season 4. They really focus on Rex and his soldiers. Would highly recommend.

Now we need a 6" Commander Thorn. The four pack gave us an orange, green, blue and red clone trooper and we can have Cody (orange), Gree (green) and Rex (blue) leading them. "red" needs his commander.

The issue with the right hand being a trigger finger and the left hand not being a trigger finger (and the accompanying articulation) has been a problem for 3.75" Rex for years.
And btw, The Clone Wars....oh man. You gotta check it out. Great, great cartoon. Curious to hear what you think.
Making removable helmets never seems to work. They should have just done two heasd. He still could have held the helmetted head like an empty helmet.
That's my preference too, completely.
Jerret Zwicker I used to have a 4" storm trooper that had a removable helmet. You could take it off and see a head sculpt under it and the helmet fit perfectly
The jaina solo figure is the only figure that has a removable helmet that works lmao. Beautiful figure too btw

Love Clone Troopers and really happy with the articulation improvements. Looking forward to the standard release. Hope they nail all the same paint apps. I'll have to go check Gree and see if his shoulders have improved range.
Gree just feels stiff to me. Love the look but he's can't seem to stand at ease very well.
A phase 1 helmet would have been nice.
Definitely, but it wouldn't have matched the torso with the welds and such.
Kis Kacor It wouldn't match. He welded the two phases of armor together, where as his Phase I armor was just plain.
It would be a very easy repack for Hasbro to make. Repaint some things, a few new sculpts, bam. Let's hope they do it.

picked up 4 Rex at Hascon, fortunately only 1 was slightly melty, but pretty bad that Hasbro let this slip...especially since you had to wait online like 2 hrs to get them.
Nice review! I hope to swipe one up on the 20th when it goes on sale on the Hasbro shop. The weathering looks great in my opinion!
Yeah, I love it too. You can see brushstrokes super up close but they look great at a normal distance.
His left hand really bothers me. Rex is known for his dual wielding and he needs double trigger fingers and up and down hinges for both hands. I couldn't care less about his face underneath when we can't get him in his running and shooting pose
Hasbro has had this problem with every rex fig since 2009 it was disapointing then it still is know.

cant wait for the repack of this. It looks so much better as far as the face sculpt and no warping. I Just feel bad for people who paid a lot for a sub par version.

You need to watch Clone Wars. I love Rebels cause it is linked to events of the OT. I love the Prequels because they are tied in to Clone Wars so yeah. Rex is one of the reasons why I love Clone Wars and why I like Rebels more than I originally have when it started.

Yeah, aGreed. See what I did there? I'm so stupid...but yeah, compared to this Gree is a bit stiff, hard to stand in a natural position. But he sure is pretty.
Damn man I love your reviews I'm so getting this but I'm kinda pissed that I want it so bad I actually want the photo real but I'm gonna get this as well... just wondering if I can alter or repaint this one to resemble fives and echo lol but I have to see how much more I would have to do to make him fives and echo when the photo real comes out haha. I highly recommend you watch the clone wars it's amazing and sad how these guy go from domino squad to becoming arc troopers etc.

Hey Robo the EE exclusive Order 66 clone 4 pack is definitely worth it imo. The 501st clone goes great with Rex, the 212th clone goes great with Cody, and since there aren't any Kashyyyk troops yet the 442nd clone goes really well with Gree.
Yeah, I'm getting more and more interested by the minute.
So, quick update, while I'm waiting for the genosis droid to be shipped from japan ( Yeah, it's gonna be a couple weeks, I am working on a diorama. I am going to make the sarlacc pit and I am making it to the 6 inch scale so that it can go with my Kylo Ren. Yep, Kylo Ren is my only black series so far. (I have unmasked and star killer base exclusive)

Is the plastic material different from usual Clone Figures?
It may be slightly softer but not that much different.
Is the range finder supposed to actually articulate? It looks like it does but I'm afraid to try to force it on mine
It looks like it should, it's definitely a separate piece plugged in, but mine doesn't want to move. It just bends at the base.
How hard do you think it would be to remove the pauldron and kama? I really want to use those to make some custom arc troopers.
It should be that hard, it's only a little glue in the back.
Unfortunately they just pulled Clone Wars from Netflix but I'm sure its probably available on Disney's streaming...maybe...who knows...but yeah, Clone Wars is awesome! I skipped around through the filler when I rewatched it and it still just blows me away.

Heat, then hold it where you want until it cools, or run it under cold water.

yesss. because sometimes you get a flashback episodes and you just didnt notice it being a flashback until you watch that whole episode. and with that many names of the clone troopers, sometimes its confusing and a little hard to remember, but the whole series is very great. it brings a whole new perspective for some prequels character. especially obi wan and anakin

Some of them you wouldn't even realize that an episode was from an earlier or later season. Once you get in the middle of the series it's pretty much done jumping around
Chronological might be better just to spread some of the weaker season 1 episodes out a bit.
Course I've never done it myself so I don't exactly have anything against air date order.
Loving the outdoor pics... any idea if Figuarts are doing this figure? If you watch Clone wars you will love it but don't fall too much in love with the series as it was never finished 🙁
I doubt Figuarts does this, they haven't released most of the Phase 1s they've shown. I would love a line of commanders and captains though.

I've heard that too. I'm guessing the retail won't have either the standard blaster or the long rifle. Or both. He's gotta come with the pistols.

This is a fantastic figure. However, I don't understand why it's taking Hasbro so long to pivot to face printing tech on the Black Series figures when they're already doing it on Marvel Legends.
Two different factories and departments. Hasbro Hong Kong approached the Marvel team a long time before we actually saw it, takes time to convert. When it went over so well the Star Wars team decided to implement it too. Better late than never, I guess.
Real quick question. (Probably stupid) im new to doing things to figures so how would i go about slicing the index finger away from the other fingers?
Just take a blade and cut along where the fingers should be separate. It won't be perfect because of the sculpt but it'll work.

Robo... you need to watch The Clone Wars... it's a great series IMO...
Rex is one of my favorite characters from the series... & this is a good looking figure (heat damage aside...) but I think I'm going to make my own from a Bandai kit... I've only got 2 Black Series figures... Ashoka & Sabine... only because I very much doubt Bandai will make kits of them... & you can't knock those kits for anything other than maybe how the instructions aren't always clear on how things fit together...

I dreamed about this character. But I could not wait. And I made myself out of the clone of the BANDAI clone. I looked at the review. And now I think I did better than HASBRO.

I may keep that to a first of the year type of thing, give enough time for the displays to change drastically before showing them again. That and give me time to dust, hah.
I just got my rex in the mail and the box it came in was crushed...so I took photos and opened it up...and the fig box is crushed too...the fig itself appears fine...but this is one I wanted for mint in box...so anyone that knows please tell me what I can do about it if anything...I know they're sold out and I dont want a refund...I want a replacement...please tell me Hasbro save some sold out product just for situations like this...?...or do I chalk it up to the game?

I doubt it, they will probably move forward with those character in different looks.
