I think I’m really gutted by Luke and Han, I was really looking forward to them but the shiny faces just don’t grab me. The Bespin Han was an outstanding head sculpt, the Endor one, not so good but a likeable figure. I’ll get Cody though. Awesome review and thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Han looks like he's got snot all over his face. And what's with the yellowing of Luke? Is it a light-thing? Thrawn was the only one I wasn't going to update, but your video has made me change my mind. Thanks Robo :)
This is a bit off topic, but I think that there were two different coats for han in different scenes it looks different. There are many cases were there are two different versions of a prop in different scenes, like in raiders of the lost ark, there are two different designs of the staff of raw. Just a thought, could be very wrong. Thanks for the video Robo! Really like the thrawn and Cody.
Yeah, I've seen the jacket in-person at Celebration so it'll always be brown for me, but I also like the two different jackets thing. I definitely don't hate the blue and will keep a version on the shelf.

I was looking forward to getting the Hoth Luke and Han updates, but I have to admit the face tech print on both looks really sloppy!!!Definitely not up to the recent high standard set by the Black series. Not what I expected at all! Maybe they'll look better in hand, but it does seem a bit dissapointing knowing what hasbro are capable of.
They will always look better in person compared to being zoomed all the way in for an HD video, but the sculpts were already off to begin with, so they aren't as good as they could have been.
Honestly wish they'd just do a full redo on Cody at this point. The original sculpt has too many things that annoy me and he really should have a removable helmet. Some extra accessories (Sidious/Emperor hologram for the Order 66 scene, etc) would also be nice.
I don't need the Thrawn, but I am very happy to be able to get the rest, especially Cody. I needed him for my Clones shelf. Clone Commander Obi Wan is looking lonely.
Think the only way to have han wearing both goggles and hood is if you have him holding his binoculars with the strap around his neck: covering the gap
Thrawn and Luke don't look great either, I've been trying to decide whether or not to get Thrawn again but this new one has such glossy paint apps, the old one actually looks better imo, facial features/details are more crisp
Great review of some cool Black Series product! The econodemic has me on a budget. While I like all these figures, I have to give them a soft pass for some other ones I'm jonesing for, like Zeb Orrelios.
Great review Robo! I feel like they are still hit & miss with the photo real paintjobs. Some figures look great whereas others not so much. This wave here just looks sooo shiny for some reason and the eyes all look a little off. Is the Kamino clone and Cody supposed to be the same armor version? It'd be cool to see a Cody customized on that body. Seeing all the Hoth versions though makes me wish they'd rerelease the TaunTauns.
Hoth Han really should have come with a swappable hood so you could have him wearing it down. Brown coat? UGHH!!! The original figure was blue so it will always be blue to me, why I chose the Sideshow Blue version
Not sure if your brain has already been lingering in this direction, but having a spare Cody on hand gives you an excellent opportunity to make a custom Captain Vaughn from season 7 of the clone wars, especially since Vaughn is practically an exact recolor of Cody anyway. Frankly I myself am tempted to get 2 Cody's for the sole purpose of making a Vaughn, either to display on my shelf or sell for some big bucks.
@@TheFwoosh Vaughn does indeed have those classic blue 501st markings. As we see him in the show though he has that Ahsoka paintjob on his helmet, but I suppose it wouldn't be too hard to either find some material of him before the orange paintjob or just guess around it and give him a blue stripe on his helmet and along his visor. But hey it's up to you whether you feel like going through the effort of recreating that Ahsoka paint on his helmet; all in all it doesn't look too intuitive but I'd imagine trying to get it just right on a curved helmet with a visor would be pretty difficult.
I'm trying to figure out why the original designers put what looks like a scope on the bottom of cody's gun and then blocked sight through the scope with another part of the gun

Kind of a fail, in my opinion. It's good to get Cody for new collectors, but I think there will be a Cody on the new body by 2022. Han and Luke just don't look very good and should have been part of the last wave of ESB 40 instead of taking up half of this wave. Thrawn should have been part of the Rebels re-release and the old Thrawn's face just looks better.
i was initially very excited for this wave, but now I'm thinking I'll skip them except Thrawn for my Rebels collection. Good stuff though! Happy that clone collectors get Cody reissue.
Black series is so strange. They’ll kill it with something like jar jar which is totally new and probably costs a lot to produce but then totally drop the ball on a simple repaint.

No interest in picking up either Han or Luke (the only 2 in Wave of interest to me) as the photo real just does not look all that great or substantially better than the original issues imo. I mean the photo real is the incentive for picking up the Archive human characters so if not a substantial improvement then why take the time to produce it? Same thoughts as when I saw Archive Ep. III Anakin. These are disappointing issues & not worth picking up imo. Thanks for the detail/HQ reviews.

I think it's a clear coating to protect the faceprint. Though there's too much in some figures and the right amount in some.
It baffles me why they are like that, perhaps instead of carbonized we are now getting sweaty variations?

That appears to be the general consensus. The Hoth figures are great, but there are better Lukes and Hans that aren’t so specific.
