Annette, your scrappy quilt turned out great. It's such a creative way of working through your scraps. Thank you for sharing your thought process and this tutorial. I always enjoy watching your videos. Have a nice day. ❤😊
I loved how you kept saving yourself work by letting the squares be. I loved the offsetting of the “trees” it looks great and again saved yourself a lot of work. And you used a lot of different fabrics, love those scrappy quilts.
Love it! I have PILES of charm squares, def gonna give this a try. I like how you made it into one LONG strip and then just cut that apart to make your quilt. Great idea!👍🏻
What a good idea you got. The main bit was getting your bin to a usable amount. So good it all worked. Thank-you. Tiffany's quilting Life, makes long scrappy Piano key borders, and rolls 'em up. She puts it on and cuts to size, all the time. Have you heard about potato chip blocks. They are said to be so easy and fun, you can't just do one. You cut brick shapes like 2 1/2× 4 1/2, or whatever proportions you can get from scrap, all the same size. This works well with odd jelly roll strips too. Sew 2 side by side, put one on each end, then sew 2, end to end for each side. As you keep going around the outside, you join end for end, however many will fit across, and make blocks as big as you like. You finish by sewing blocks together with no seams to match up. If you want more info, try conquering mount scrapmore with Brenda. All the best.
As you were sewing, I kept thinking that quilt was going to be a hot mess. I was wrong! I really like how it turned out, especially the unmatched triangles. Great job!
That really turned out nice!! I've got a VPP (vague plan project) on my sewing table right now. I go in there, look at it and think of how I want to do it, and go back to my computer and coffee. It's hard to come up with a good plan for this project, but eventually it will get done.
Never heard "VPP" before - and I love it. Always have 2 or 3 going in the back of my mind; or on the door of my sewing room. Eventually they just work themselves out.
hi Annette 🌸 I love your videos, watch them all the time, and yes, I am subscribed. I just wanted to say this is the first time I’ve seen you make a whole quilt top. I really enjoyed it. I hope there’s more coming. 😊
I love the spontaneity of your process, although I'm sure it took a little more thought than the time lapse 😊. I can see a lot of potential, and my charm square collection is about the size of yours, starting out. Thanks for a great video and quilt.
Hi Annette. Sheryl here from New Zealand here. Keen to get into quilting. Thought not being an exact type of sewer might be a detriment but it seems there is hope . Thank you
Hi Sheryl! Welcome! I hope you enjoy your journey. There are lots of ways to do everything in quilting. Find YOUR way and what works best for you! I made my first quilt 7 years ago and haven't looked back! ☀️
This is a awesome use of those 5” self cut “precuts”. I have way too many as well. Great backing quilt as well. I love my gift quilts to be two sided quilts. They are a hit. Thanks for sharing this wonderful idea scrappy idea.
Hi, new to channel. Love the angle block. I like it when the video is sped up. At times, I wish I could sew that fast. Hehe. I did my first piano keyboard border last year. Fun way to use up strips. Oh! What a cute cat. 😊 It's fun to have a quilting buddy. Your quilt turned out cute.
Great tutorial, thank you (new subscriber). Purrfect 😻. I see MSQC too 😉. Blaize is adorable! And, thank you for the relatively mellow, not too loud, background music. Too often I have to mute because of jarring “music” on other channels.
My goal is to use up a lifetime of stash.... ALWAYS do the "piano key" trick with any thing left... also cut "charms" from anything left and have them in sterilite containers by color... I have the best luck making "monochromatic" charms on point (MSQC).... with sashing... makes up wonderful table toppers or lap quilts!
Those looks like starters of flying geese on the very first stack that you cut. But I don’t know how to make flying geese. When I saw your very first 2 cuts and you picked the ruler up I thought wow!!!!! I could make flying geese now.
I love the staggered seams.
Thanks! ☀️
I love how you feel so free to keep changing your mind about how you want to put the quilt together.
It's a great feeling for sure! ☀️. It doesn't always work but this time... ☀️☀️
I love this. It shows that there are no mistakes or problems, just opportunities for creativity!
Thank you! ☀️
I just love watching your creativity
Thanks so much! ☀️
This would be so cute with Christmas fabrics!
Oh wow! YES, totally would!☀️
I love the quilts that begin as a general idea which gets altered as the sewing progresses. Beautiful result! ❤👍from Somerset UK
Thanks Elizabeth ! I am glad you enjoyed! ☀️

I like how the tree shapes don’t all match up.
Ditto! ☀️. Thanks!
Well this was fun! I wish you showed how you squared the top up. Also what was the finished size? I love scrappy!(KH)
Hi! Thanks! 💕 I didn’t square the top. This quilt measures about 60" x 66". ☀️
Love this. I like the slightly offset tree shapes.I think it gives a modern feel to the quilt.
What was the finished size, please?
Thanks! ☀️☀️☀️. I put those measurements in the description. 60x66 I’m glad you liked it!

Where did you get your sewing table with the inset a plexiglass top
I got it at my local sewing machine company . It is an Arrow brand, Kangaroo with Joey.
Love your cat helper. This is an idea I might have to use lots of self cut charms that need to be used up.
Thanks so much!
Just awful
