Joe is doing the things I am looking to do;
1. A home in USA,
2. Citizenship in Sierra Leone(and others when the time is right and it makes sense to do so),
3. 1 family compound with a lot of land in the Western Area near Freetown, Sierra Leone for myself, family, etc to live and pass down,
4. 1 modest family compound home upcountry in Sierra Leone.
5. Investments in Africa(airbnbs, angel investments, farms, etc)
6. A home in a different African country(still deciding on this but need to visit first)
I check a couple of these boxes already but am way behind Joe and Leslie who are nearly done with the whole list!
Leslie and Joe are both expanding their OPTIONS for their families. They''ll be remembered fondly by their family members generations from now for returning and putting down permanent roots.

In the provincial areas the Chief own the lands, so if someone want to buy land outside of Freetown the section Chief & paramount chief of that chiefdom must sign on the documents.
Just bought over 2 acres of Land at Lungi(the airport town)for an African American family & the process was smooth & easy.

Joe is a smart guy, for investment to be easy in Africa you need a house. You can’t go wrong with building a house especially in Freetown. You will soon become a millionaire mate. Kudos to you

SaLone has gone through a lot but it is progressing. I will suggest going out of the capital city Freetown to aquire land in other cities like Bo, Kenema, Makeni. These cities are growing fast and the land is still reasonable.

Great interview. I was shocked how expensive land has become in the past 10 years 2 town lot, maybe 900Sqm at $12k is not a joke. It will only keep going up.

I bought from family but you should bisit a few times to get a lay of the land. That will help you make a decision.

1 USD equaled about 10,000 Leones in the old currency(in which the 10,000 note was the highest note)
They removed 3 zeroes so the 10,000 Leone is now the 10 Leone in the new currency(now marked as nLe)
So 1 USD would equal 10 nLe last year but due to inflation it is now something like 1 USD equals 17 nLe(17,000 old leones)
I believe they plan to release a new note as well - the 20 Leone to reduce how much one would need to carry to pay for stuff

Joe $12,00 for a town and a quarter seems a lot, but it’s worth it when you develop it for business.

FYI
Four million leones (old leones) was $400 dollars not $4,000. It used to be 10,000 leones for every $1 dollar. Now with NL (New Leone) it 22 NL to every $1 dollar.
Old leones ----- $1 = 10,000 leones
$100 = 1,000,000 leones
$1000 = 10,000,000 leones
NOW(2023) New Leone --- $1 = 22 NL (New Leone)
$100 = 2,200 NL
$1000 = 22,000
