In the mid-1950s, there began a new era in which African Americans began to migrate to Ghana as a result of its independence. African Americans, especially civil rights activists such as W. E. B. Du Bois and Julian Bond, went to Ghana to aid the country's development and escape the racism of the United States.
In this video, I share the story of Rush, who relocated from America to Ghana after being in the USA for so long.
He built his 4 bedroom home while still living in America. He is currently running a number of businesses in Ghana and lives here with his wife.
In this video we discuss what it takes to move to Ghana, what he did to build a home, some of the challenges he has been through all while settling in Ghana.
We also get to do a tour of his beautiful Ghana home.

Congratulations to him. At age 28, I built my first house in Ghana for my mom whiles I’m in the USA and I’m 31 now and now have my 3 beautiful houses there. Hope to retire at age 35 and just go home to enjoy the fruit of my labor. Already tired of working
Thank you for building for your mother Sir, may you live long!
Lazy 31 is too early to retired 😂
@Beril Joseph, 😂😂😂I’m tired of working ooo. I have worked all my life from Ghana to America. I can’t continue with this life
Wow grt ❤️
I'm in Chicago...which states are you @ aborokyire mu s3m
There is nothing like owning your house once you are done with the building. No worries about mortgage payments. You own your house for life, No such thing like mortgage payments or foreclosure. That's one thing I love about the mother land.🙏
Yes it safes you from unnecessary stress and over working just to pay bills
@@glamfab23johnson64 no annual property taxes either!! Don’t even get me started on the affordable prices getting real value as houses are concrete
@@africanglobalnomadis totally two different countries. Don't compare America to GH
@@africanglobalnomad There are annual property taxes in Ghana.
lol you can buy the the house full payment if you got the money
I'm glad young Ghanaians are taking ownership of Ghana 🇬🇭 ❤
My bro got it right...and he is living the African dream. Keep up the good work.
Am inspired by the young brother. And as a Nigerian in the USA and Caribbean I definitely want to do same

Do they pay property tax? Property tax is a way of renting from the government.
@@avalimpa it's not much believe me.
@@avalimpa in my country there is no such things
@AvaLimpa, there's no such thing like property taxes. Once you bought your land and built your dream home. No mortgage payments. No foreclosure, no property taxes, That's your home for life with no strang attached. Period, that's the motherland.
Even in my country Uganda 🇺🇬 no property tax. Your land, your title, your house.
What an incredible milestone you've achieved at a young age. Very proud of you brother!🤩😍😍
Awesome to see the young Africans Fromm all over the diaspora coming home👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽The Most Honorable Marcus Garvey vision coming through 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️🇬🇭🇯🇲
I am building my 10 bedrooms home in Congo and almost done in one year.
Congrats 🥰
Well done 👏🏾 🎉
10 bedrooms 😮
@blessed1940...Mwana Mboka, Ndeko...That's huge. God Bless
The journey of those from the Diaspora that choose to return to Africa is very inspirational and gives a sense of pride and longing to some of us viewing these individuals taking that leap! The Diaspora however isn't only African Americans or Canadians..I've travelled extensively and met African descendants everywhere on this planet..I've encountered African descendants that was born in places like India, China, Europe, the Caribbean and even Scandinavian countries..
It would be fantastic if you highlight people of the Diaspora from those countries who decided to return to Africa as well.. Maybe! Their journey might encourage others to take that leap as well..
Actually a lot of Caribbean success videos are plenty on various channels! Majority of the African diaspora from the USA 🇺🇸 in Africa are of Caribbean immigrants or first generation. That said, agree with you. If you watch migrants around the globe it’s usually the middle class so those in countries you highlight might not have the resources to do so. I am pretty sure these TH-camrs are not colluding/refusing to interview them 😂 and opting for those from the west
It's really inspiring for real.
He's doing some amazing things in 🇬🇭! I love his ambition and vision.
He is x
TRUE.He is also building a NEW business centre as well
Can I get in touch with him

This young man is a dynamo, his energy level, you can see why he has so many projects rolling. Beautiful house, well finished. It pays to use an Architect if you can afford one. Great video Jasmine, you listen, assimilate what is being said by the interviewee so well, then add your input. Not leaving out the video man, great shots, really captured the beauty of the house. Great production.
Thanks Ken xx
@Jasmine Ama first time on ur channel. I saw a lady commented tour name tht u sell the good shae butter. Is tht true?
Yes, yes he's a natural
Jasmine your value system is concrete. Not that the overcomer has asked a bad question, no. But in respect for your in terviewee and the production itself, you defer an answer to their question. Beautiful. So let me answer for you. Yes she does sell the good Shae butter.
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Congratulations!
Great son of the soil! I did the same at 29 in Nigeria with a swimming pool also. As an Architect who lives in the US, I’m still a proud Nigerian forever.

He was moving himself further from the interviewer as he was talking about his wife.

Congratulations this is very inspiring
Jazz has made quite an investment in herself...very much exposed.I enjoy her channel a lot . Very creative and original. If even 50% of Ghanaian population is this sound...we need to raise the level...Education is the way
Thank u Yaw 💕
@Yaw Asamoah When you say education, what do you mean? There are many graduates who are trekking looking for employment or sititng at home unemployed. For a lot of people, education has trained them to look for employment instead of creating opportunities. The key is to FIND OPPORTUNITIES , find CAPITAL and set up different REVENUE STREAMS.
I'm glad to see a young man go after his gold or dream at such a young age thank God for great mercy you are bless
Beautiful home stay safe and blessed
This is one of the better finishing i have seen in Ghana. The high quality we see in Spain and South Africa needs to come to Ghana as well. I don't know how but building code must be introduced in Ghana.
It’s there 😂
The high finishes you see over Spain came there when Africans went through Spain and Europe in the year 711 and taught them Architecture, Medicine, Math and MOOR
Wow, this guy is genius.
Bro casually living my dreams! I manifest this for myself in 5 years I’ll come back here to testify.
Me too. Let’s see what I can pull off by EOY!
Great interview and his house is beautiful, I saw him in Ghana girl video!
That architecture looks like a brick /marble compound. Very simple, hard and white.
Congratulations to you on your new house it's very beautiful🎉🎉 🎉
