I am a singing enthusiast and sing and record mostly on Karaoke. I connect the output from iPad to Mg10xu through RCA cable and then listen to the music from headphones to sing along. Although, I have HS5 but the music becomes so loud when I turn the volume knob to unity which becomes an issue with my neighbours. I want to understand if there is a way that the output from headphones should not be loud and the quality of the recording should be perfect. The reason is that when I turn the volume down, the the music becomes feeble and does not sound good in recording. I am using Pro-Movie app for recording in my iPhone. I would appreciate, if you can reply at the earliest.

I'm curious what the latency of this setup is. I am building a looping rig and would like to run all of my mics and instruments through this mixer board. I've had problems with other USB output mixers.

We have 4 Yamaha DBR15 as main speaker and 2 DBR12 as monitor for stage, and we use MG16XU, the problem is, when I open the gain too much, it will produce feedback sound, but when the gain not enough, the sound is too low on my laptop (as a recorder). yes you can. just enable the run in background option in GarageBand and switch to camera it should record the audio and video simultaneously. pls check my video uploads that's how I record all videos on iPhone.

Hi Jordan, great videos, thanks for sharing these no nonsense tips for non-professionals like me. I want to record video using iPhone to later upload to TH-cam using this mixer. I was using Behringer FX1202 mixer and Behringer UMC22 interface but was experiencing latency issues and some unwanted overdrive. I use either the iPhone Video or Focusrite Impact app for a bit of editing (cropping of the video) only. I want to do one-take “live” vocal/guitar videos and use the mixer’s effects so no need for sound editing afterwards. What method do you recommend to get the best sound, and is there a better video app that is simple. I don’t want to use GarageBand, I just find it too messy and time consuming for what I need. Anybody had any luck hooking the mgu10 xu to an ipad pro with the apple usbc dongle? Tried the usb dongle, tried the 3.5mm apple dongle, tried a usb b to usb c cable. Ipad won’t recognize the mixer. No sound in or out! It worked so well with my 10.5 ipad using lightning….

Yes you can! You can use your mixer to connect your monitors. This is what happens automatically when I "turn on monitoring" when the iPad gives me the option in this video. Make sure you turn this on when your iPad asks you.

Just turn on run in background in the advanced settings and it will let you use the other apps and camera
