She will be my confirmation saint on 4/8/23. She's a born Jew as am I, and a lover of philosophy. She was an atheist & a feminist, just like me. I'm constantly asking her to pray for the salvation of my entire family, who all remain secular Jews & atheists. ☺️🙏
We lost our daughter in 22nd week of pregnancy. She was very sick, they told us to abort her, we said no. I had to go to labor after she died. We named her after Edith Stein, one of my favourite saints. And buried her. Edith Stein is amazing
My favorite story of this Saint: Walking by a parish, she sees a woman kneeling in prayer, her shopping bags next to her in the pew. Edith suddenly had a longing to have this faith: that in everyday life, one might speak with God. She never met this woman, but she left a lasting impression on the future martyr.
Her discussions on Womanhood are so well articulated, and they address directly all of these post-modern misinterperetaions of the topic as if they were written for today. Truly one of the greatest minds to have ever put their thought to paper. God bless her and her immortal soul as she has blessed us with her very existence.
I loved her scathing letter to the Pope before she died. Edith accuses the Pope and fellow Catholics of not attempting to help the Jews, to not even raise its voice against this evil. I have read so much that Pope Leo 12 had done to help Jews during the war. Could that be all lies? Maybe the Communists and St. Edith are correct. She is a prime example of a Saint was not obedient, but had a voice and used it.
Memory Eternal. 🕯🙏One of the greatest Saints and Martyr 👑of the Church. She perished at Auschwitz along with her sister Rosa Stein who was also a convert nun.
In these times, people don’t get that they are dishonoring her by not calling her by her self chosen religious name. She openly and freely gave her life to be a bride of Christ and was martyred for her Catholic faith. May Christ’s perpetual light shine on her eternally St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross.

I am obsessed with Dr. McNamara's voice!
The name of Wrocław was pronounced beautifully! Greetings from there!

There were two popes that reigned during the Nazi regime

Discalced Carmelite. . . converted by reading St. Teresa of Avila's Autobiography; wrote The Science of the Cross (on St. John of the Cross)
You sure you want to let some hybernians in here? I'm not driving you to hospital.
Her name is St Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. To call her anything else is an insult.
Nonsense.

For me, she will always be St. Edith Stein….
@@DAVEJJR that's not what she would have wanted.
@@Jordan22220 I know her has St. Edith Stein. Does it really make a difference what name she’s remembered by?
