  • TVR Chimaera renovations part 3. I have now rebuilt the rear shocks with new springs & fixings. It is coming together nicely & will soon be complete. I am enjoying renovating the TVR. Do not forget to give a thumbs up & if you are new to the channel consider subscribing for loads more content to come this year.

Hi Steve. Well done on fitting the new springs safely onto the refurbished shocks. You did very well to do it so safely. Good idea to use ratchet straps. No danger of the springs launching across the workshop. Good luck on the next step. 👏👏👍😀

Thanks Andrew. I was apprehensive about doing them. So pleased they are back together.

The amount of power in that spring will kill you easily I was always triple checking whenever I did this thanks for the film Steve lovely job by the way

Thanks John. Yes frightening. Far better with the straps so at least it cannot go off into orbit.

Reminds me of fitting springs to my friends R5 Turbo around about 1993. His spring compressors were.... inadequate... and we both ended up screaming on the garage floor after the spring got loose and fired around the place. I learned a lot that day!
    Best wishes, Dean.

Hi Dean, well that's the sort of thing I was expecting to happen. Thanks for the comment.
      Steve.

It's great watching your progress Steve. New springs seemed to go on easy enough, good idea using ratchet straps, keeps the pucker factor down a bit.

Thanks for that doug. Not sure what you mean but will try to comply.

It's just an expression relating to the level of scariness when doing something a bit sketchy.
