Oh, that looks nice!! I have several types of spring compressors, but nothing as compact as the ones you used. Did you make those? Knurling and chamfer! You are spoiling us, hahahahha! Nice!! Nothing like the right tools for the job. Those bushings, even if they gave up a fight, came out nicely. And the new ones went in like butter. Nice job on the paint job as well. Absolutely touch up the springs to avoid rust in those exposed areas. Will you need to replace the master cylinder for a higher capacity one in order to install the new Brembo brakes? You should be able to find adapters for the calipers, just need to validate that you have the wheel clearance to accommodate everything. I was able to find adapters to use Porsche Boxster calipers in my 1980 Porsche 911 project... but had to switch to 17" wheels to accommodate it all...
No they are motorcycle ones. Thanks for the comments. I'm hoping the master cylinder will be OK. Fluids & distance travelled. Should be same. Will see. The only people I have read about this needs 12mm spacers fitting. I am hoping the way I do it I won't need them. Fingers crossed.
Hi Gairn. At the moment its all in bits as I have just renovated the the rear brakes & now on to the fronts. Once done I will be bleeding the whole system & adjusting the handbrake. What I do know is that the handbrake lever needs to have 3 to 4 clicks to operate correctly. Most vehicles are 2 to 3. Hope this helps. Steve.
Thanks Steve, Ill take a look. My rear calipers are getting a rebuild on June 19. They don't open as well as they should, dragging ever so slightly, the discs are glazed. I think the handbrake cable is shot too.
