पाक अधिकृत जम्मू कश्मीर का गिलगित बालटिस्तान इलाका 17 वी शताब्दी तक पूरी तरह से बौद्ध धर्म को मानता था। बाद में इस इलाके का इस्लामीकरण कर दिया गया। बालटिस्तान इलाका वास्तव में लद्दाख का ही हिस्सा है। 400 साल पहले बालटिस्तान पूरी तरह से बौद्ध इलाका था। आज भी पाक अधिकृत कश्मीर के गिलगित बाल्टिस्तान में चारों तरफ बौद्ध धर्म से संबंधित चीजें दिखाई पड़ती है।गिलगित बाल्टिस्तान में प्राचीन बौद्ध स्तूप, मठ,विहार की भरमार है। पहाड़ों पर बौद्ध धर्म से संबंधित चित्र उकेरे हुए हैं। पाक अधिकृत जम्मू कश्मीर का बाल्टिस्तान इलाका भाषाई और सांस्कृतिक दृष्टिकोण से लद्दाख का ही हिस्सा है। लद्दाख क्षेत्र का भी इस्लामीकरण करने का प्रयास जारी है।मुसलमानों ने पूरे कश्मीर घाटी पर कब्ज़ा जमाया हुआ है।लद्दाख केवल बौद्ध लोगो का है।मुसलमानों को लद्दाख से मार कर कश्मीर भगाओ।गिलगित बाल्टिस्तान भी बौद्ध लोगो का है जिस पर पाकिस्तान ने कब्ज़ा जमाकर रखा है।कश्मीर और कारगिल के मुसलमान देशद्रोही और गद्दार है जबकि लद्दाख के बौद्ध देशभक्त और भारत के प्रति समर्पित है।
