It’s true that in Odisha Christian missionaries have been converting tribal people from past several years. In my own district, I have seen missionaries have converted tribals people to Christianity. I am myself from tribal family & from Hindu origin. I couldn’t believe that some where in some villages all tribal families are Christian. I wonder how & when all these happened? @@mkpa1 I had no courage to raise the exact reasons why they were converted at that time. I was completing my under graduation back then. In my mind it was a sensitive issue. I have met only one remaining hindu family in a village. They told me that they were feeling pressurized by social situations around them. Especially they were feeling uncomfortable to attend social events like marriages etc. they were feeling suffocated, surrounded by Christian family. One of my hindu friend's family converted to Christianity bcuz all of his relatives were already converted to Christianity. There was a pressure to be like them. So his family converted. I have also seen that there were many convent schools, churches & NGOs in these places. Most of my Christian friends were convent educated. So, they are getting good education is one of the benifits.
