excellent idea!! but a question..... why a zener diode, not sure they work in the application u are using? I think the link is for a different diode than u used. yes on the axial diode, no for it being a ZENER diode. Zener diodes start conducting at the zener voltage, this can lead to all sorts of strange issues if the battery voltage is around the zener voltage i would use a 5 AMP regular diode, not a 5 watt ZENER diode

I think that link for the blocking diodes should work, a bit hefty at 20amp, but i would install those myself if i had to
