    That was the best review that I have seen in awhile...you didn't bash on the product with its flaws and you complimented the general design.

      I appreciate that. It's not a bad work bench for the price.

    You did a great job with organization with this work bench. Love your ideas like the slide out trash can power strip and etc. Good job.

    I just bought one and had zero stability issues. Its a really nice work bench especially for the price.

    I just bought one of these because of the low price and all the positive reviews. If you really tighten all the screws and use lock tight, it is very stable and there is zero wobble.
    It is a remarkably strong bench and supports about 300 lbs of total weight on the three shelves.
    Assembly can be a bit awkward and frustrating unless you can recruit a second person.

    I like the modifications you suggested, particularly regarding the peg board. Most reviews mention that the included light is pretty weak. Just purchased mine and plan to assemble it next weekend. You've given me some good ideas for upgrades.

      I appreciate it. Glad I could be of some help. Yeah the light included doesn't put out a whole lot of light but it does help a little.

    Anyway you could show us how you mounted the vise?

  • @cheapme1850
    @cheapme1850 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not unstable at all if you properly tighten the bolts and nuts. Maybe the earlier models were shaky but there are bolts and nuts around the perimeter of the peg board to tie it all together, but even before putting the board on it was pretty sturdy.

    I don’t know where all these complaints about the work bench not being stable? I just put mines together and it’s nice and solid. Dragged it around my garage3 times figuring we’re I should place it. Maybe tighten all the screws snug when you’re all done putting it together? 🤷🏽‍♂️ other then that for the price you can’t beat it.

    Add a webcam to the front flap at the top, so you can have a live streaming bench :) nice bench btw

    That's the only worry I had it being unstable, and just garbage. I'll probably just get 1 from home depot or something. I'll just be doing little stuff a golf clubs so.

    Did you drill thru the metal to get vice on. I am interested to know how you installed it.

    • @dingram3588
      @dingram3588  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes I drilled through the metal. Used 1/4-20 x 1 1/2 carriage bolts to attach.

    Did you bolt the vice directly onto the tabletop part? Or did you add anything under it?

    Nice video. I am ready to put mine together. I need it to be free standing. What modifications can I do during the build to improve sturdiness?

    • @gooseygoo69
      @gooseygoo69 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Make sure the bolts are tight . mine free stands adequately enough for my needs . if you want to strengthen the peg board structure you could bolt two lengths of metal strut at 45 degrees on each end of bench .( from the horizontal "bench" top to the vertical "peg board structure")

  • @albertcubelli2908
    @albertcubelli2908 ปีที่แล้ว

    did you put a block of wood underneath the surface to attach a vice? Or did you attach the carriage bolts right to the metal?

    • @dingram3588
      @dingram3588  ปีที่แล้ว

      No. The vise is attached with the carriage bolts to the wood top that came with the bench. No drilling thru metal at all.

      I drilled holes straight through the board and attached that way. . My vise has 3 existing holes in the mounting plate that you can attach with to a surface with nut and bolt.
