VRB is not the same as RTC or 'overdrive'. Overdrive forces the pixel to change colour leading to overshoot and a bit of artifacting after the moving object. VRB adds a black screen between images otherwise known as ulmb. This makes the image smoother but degrades clarity and reduces brightness. What you're testing here is RTC/overdrive not VRB.
No you are wrong. This video shows VRB off and on and in extreme. Please don't make comments if you don't know what your saying as you'll mislead people. That's a horrible thing to do.
Are we looking at the same video? The ufo in the normal setting is a blurry mess, the vrb setting gives a ghosting effect, but the ufo is clear enough to count the lights on the ship... try counting the lights on the normal setting.
I'm a bit confused... "VRB: normal" looks significantly clearer than OFF despite having the very faint double image... I would prefer to be able to make out fast moving images with a faint, most likely unnoticeable double image vs having a blurry mess where I can't see any detail. Turning in games is a blur for me right now. VRB looks like a huge upgrade based on your video.
@Free One I think your right on this, my eyes tell me that Freesync is unnecessary unless you’re having screen issues, the VRB is most impactful with the Overdrive set to extreme, the picture and fluidity just seems a bit more tight.
Late to this but I recently got the acer nitro 390hz and i run extreme overdrive with Vrb on extreme as well its great. However only downside is the brightness is cut a good bit so i might try normal vrb as the brightness doesn’t differ much from vrb on off. And results of normal and extreme vrb is there but might worth having a brighter image than a slightly clearer picture at least during day time. Night time for sure vrb on extreme
vrb is a blur reduction that will try to remove the ghosting effect makin the image clearer but sacrificing the brightnessm if u want a good blur reduction go for a benq monitor, the DyAc is the best blur reduction that u can have and it doesnt reduce the bright (if it does reduce the brightness its just a little)
I can only advice to buy AOC C24G1 VA monitor with < 1 frame input lag, 144 Hz and strobed mode and very strong black. There you really get 1 ms "showtime" of each Frame and you can set how long the black insert frame shoud be.
Bro in competitive games AMD freesync increase input lag which is not good for competitive games whereas VRB don't affect input lag that's why VRB is better than AMD freesync (only in competitive games like Valorant, CSGO).
I guess I’m just lucky. My VRB looks way better, easier on the eyes and outperforms any other setting. FreeSync is a choppy mess and defaults just look horrid.

Vrb mode works by inserting a blank black frame every other frame to reduce blur... screen can't go as bright when half of the frames are solid black. Ghosting is when the moving image seems to have phantom copies a little ahead or behind it most noticeable in the 2nd example.
