The added stress of the wheels sitting so far out from intended center add stress and play a roll in situation but good idea to check adjustment when changing fluid
Damn man. Shane is a monster. You got lucky with how close you were to him when all this went down
I have that exact truck and about to hit 100k miles and got a 1,000 mile road trip this weekend, just wonderful.
shane is awesome. if i'm ever in that area i'll for sure drop a pin at their shop for any repairs needed.
Time to send merch for the clutch save. Old school dude and you can't beat that
100k miles towing with a huge load without needing a bearing, I'd say the factory did a fine job putting it together 😅. Wheel bearings wear and seat, I imagine it wasn't loose when they put it together otherwise it would have been a problem a long time ago.
Thank you,
And yes you are right!
Woulda happened long ago
Man, that's awesome. Its hard to find friends like that
He is so right about using OEM brake pads instead of Napa for the wear and dust
My 17 failed at around 110k when I tore into it they were super lose as well. Really I guess it didn't fail as much as the seal was gone. I just picked up a 14 ram dually with the high output motor and the aison trans with only 31k on it! I'm up to 3 of these things now and 2 3/4 tons! One of these days I'll build another 1st gen! Great channel thanks for the content!
I know where I’ll go if I’m ever near Columbus with trouble now. Always learn something from your videos
huge shout out to shane for his help and anyone looking for work go see shane and get your self a qualification 👍 i hear he is nicer to work for than dawson lol
Shane going all silent Mike on it and just getting it done!! 👍
Shane is a top bloke! Who wouldn't want to work for him?!?!
I adjust these or have to do seals on dodges all the time as this issue is very common. I actually had a customer pay another shop to replace the axle seal and his truck only made it 300 miles before leaking on the exact same side because the prior tech, #1 didn't run the nut to spec to seat everything and forgot to install the spiral lock as it was still sitting on the axle shaft during my disassemble. I didn't see the spiral lock in your video and you should have one if you don't because it is the only thing that prevents the nut from being able to loosen...
So nice to see someone pre lube bearings.
The nut came off on my brothers 2500 and the wheel / axle passed the truck , dented the door and rolled about 150 yds down a field ... And it flattened the bottom of the backing plate while dragging to a stop ...
Love that dually beautiful truck
what is that tool collapsing the calipers
I want to get into the diesel technician industry so bad but don't know where to start. I applied for my local applied technologies college but haven't heard anything back.
Find a diesel shop nearby, express to them you want to learn and see if you can start by cleaning the shop and helping the techs to start learning. Most independent shops will give you a chance, just gotta be on top of everything and show your willingness to learn
Go work at a landfill or concrete place pays shit but experience diesel jobs suck being true it’s not glamour it’s dirty and heavy get a degree for the aftermath era … that’s me I’m a downer find a upper person in the comments and just get a emission class that’s all you’ll be working anyway ….
@@four-turns I honestly just said what I did to work at my shop 😂😂
2 men in a truck is a company local to me in iowa unless it’s independent franchise
No point in making a whole Atlantic City burnout video when every other TH-cam has already posted all the clips of Greg’s burnout lol
Literally done this with my third gen last weekend lmao same exact thing happened
what tailights are those on the tow rig?
I really want that first gen
Any chance the extra rear wheel spacing/offset combined with the towing can cause those nuts to back off?
5 year old truck, I feel like if it was loose off rip it would have blown the seal and leaked the fluid out long ago
after being wrong about your first gen and seeing that give away truck that you should do your truck like that
Hey Greg I got a question since you gotta dually. I have a 2011, I have replaced everything in the front end. I replaced the shocks. I've done wheels and tires And I still have a vibration between 70 and 80 miles an hour I can't figure it out I'm at a loss I hope you can help me by pointing me in the right direction. I've been watching your videos to see if you would have a video on this but I haven't seen anything. Any help you would give me would be very appreciated keep up the great videos thank you
Happy Father's Day
5 years 100k miles if it was loose from factory it would of failed before 10k
Nah it wore in and got loose. Can't fall off because of locking tab.
Are you a shyshtler engineer because if you are I have some fuckin words for you 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shit I've been ridding about 25k on loose read wheel bearings pulling a car trailer for the last year. It was either too loose or to tight. Loose is definitely better
Sir the flex hats
So it’s over now??
Hola amigo cómo estás saludos acá de Austin tx Freddy Delgado ánimo nice videos love Cuminns saludos y bendiciones para toda tu equipo
I love older gens over new gens there I said it
“ Some bad could really really happen “
Gunna drop the trailer something really bad could happen, cut to pulling the trailer into the shop lol
Love the truck lol
Actually!
its them big wheels on the truck and trying to tow 90% of the reason those guys breakdown
Another situation where Greg comes out smelling like a rose.
Have Macho Man Andy Savage retorque everything. Nothing will loosen.
There is goods and bads but ok 👌
Hmmm
I can’t lie. I liked the old wheels
No didn’t you say you were cambered life or something that’s the only way hey
Wth is dalf?
RIP Dolph🐬🐬🐬
I was thinking the same thing, I still don't know wtf it is
Young dolph bruh
LMAO!! HZAHAHAH
Wheres your channel, or trucks, or cars, or anything? Ill wait......
@@builtbyme 🥱🥱

Pos Fiat
My 2018 ram transmission is blown at 69000 miles
Thank god for your rams power train warranty. 👍
how
GREG! COME ON MAN!!!!!!! THE PROBLEM IS THOSE STUPID OFF SET RIMS THAT ARE ON IT. THEY PUT SO MUCH EXTRA LEVERAGE ON THE BEARINGS THAT SLOWELY DESTROYS BEARINGS. LOOK AT A FACTORY MANUAL AND YOU WILL SEE WHY THIS IS BAD!!!!!
