Mike, thanks for the review. You need to show them the fact that the last "show" with the knob all the way up, is the altimeter. The LEDs on the wings will all be off at ground level, but will turn on starting at the root, going out toward the tip the higher you fly. All LEDs on indicates 400ft AGL. Also, the tail becomes a visual variometer. It's white in level flight, but turns more green as you climb, and more red as you descend.

I got this mod coming Brian and the bird in a few days so would you recommend I install this mod before I do any binding?
Love this Mod. Especially the Nav lights. Buddy at CCF turned me on to this. Installed and cant wait to try out the vario effect.

Great video allot of good info only thing, scary when working on electrical setup and prop still on. Only takes one accidental bump of the throttle stick and ouch. Please stay safe.

Mike. Looks like an fairly easy upgrade. I saw 2 at the local hobby shop yesterday. I picked up the little Eflite 850mm Pitts instead. Been eyeing it for a spell. Might have to go back for this one. Thanks for sharing this bit if info. 🎸VH rocks. 😎

I'm waiting for my Radian.
I'm a little frustrated that the balance lead goes into the LED lights, so I cant use my buzzer.
That forces me to buy Spectrum batteries.

I completely agree! For the price point of a 3 channel plane it should’ve been standard
all the lights work except for the wings no lights. I think he sent me a wrong led board. my fuse/tail/nose work but when I plug in the wings nothing lights up
Hey bud Brian sent me another one and I he called me bc the second mod wasnt working I would get everything except one wing wouldnt light up and we tried plugging the wing into another slot and it would light so another bad mod. he is going to test another one out in his radian and then ship me another one. He had to hire a few ppl to make them and he is afraid that the QC isnt being attended to correctly. When I was talking with him I asked am I the only person having this prob and he said yes and I cant figure it out. So hopefully 3rd time is the charm. I feel bad for him bc its a nice product.
It’s not easy working out the bugs with new products but when it’s your business you have to be all over it and stay on top QC, when my first unit had an issue he not only sent me a new one but he also reimbursed me for the shipping cost as well, once you finally get a unit that works right you’ll love it, sorry you’re going through the hassle but at least you’re being taken care of, keep me informed on the 3rd unit, hopefully is pre-tested before he sends it out
@@DeucesWildRC he has also gave back the shipping. What impresses me is i asked him to call me and he did in 10min and we tried everything and the 2nd one was bad. Its frustrating bc i have a vid concept all set for it once it works and i told him im going to do a close encounters theme bc that thing looks like a ufo. I will let you how it goes.
Hey Duce, I had one wing start flickering different colors in a small section on the same wing. It ended up being a loose extension connector. I noticed your left wing doing that. Looks great. Let me know if it helps with the wing tips having the nav setup. Did you have to program the receiver to turn a channel on? I had heard the Spektrum Receivers come with only the motor, elevator and rudder programed to on. Thanks
I disclosed that in the description, the updated Night Radians come with the Ar631T rx and all channels are available, if you get this controller use any open RX channel and assign it to your right gains knob on your tx, use channel 1 on the unit if you have a gains knob on your radio otherwise use channel 2 and assign it to a 2 or 3 position switch to cycle through the different lights, yes I had a weak connection but have resolved it since, hope this helps

horizon hobby.I received my order defective. Half of the right LED main wing doesn't work ,and half of the rear wing is also defective.I have been waiting for four days how to get my money back. because my order was defective. I am very upset , since it happened right before Christmas.
That’s happened to me and plenty others before, just contact them, provide the order number so they can bring up your account, explain the issue, you may be asked to provide photos of your receipt and or a short video and email that to them, before you do all that check the connections on the wings and junction box for the lights etc. it may be a simple fix
What channel on the receiver did you plug the light controller into? Did you have to enable the channels in the receiver with the programmer cable?

I forget which open port on the rx it was, the flap or gear, I’m sure either would work as long as it’s assigned to the right knob on your DX8 or DX9 and up radio to cycle through the light colors
Duce, I got my wingnut and installed it. when I go to the monitor page and turn my knob the gear, Aux 2 & 3 all show motion. When I get to 100, my rudder kicks hard right. Any ideas?
That’s weird, your rudder shouldn’t do anything unless it’s accidentally plugged into your gear channel, assigning the gear channel to the Right knob on your DX9 or 8 and having your controller plugged into the gear channel should make it work
@@DeucesWildRC AS3X is automatically assigned to the rotary knob so when you cycle through the patterns your adding gain to AS3X. The lights change patterns but also the gain.
Okay so I unplugged it from channel 5 and just for grins thought I would try channel 6 And it liked it. The lights don’t glitch, the rotary knob works fine and AS3X and Safe still work. I had read somewhere that those other channels were not active on this receiver but channel 6 works better than channel 5. Don’t know why. Go figure. Lol

How do you get the ESC voltage telemetry using a standard 3S battery pack?
I have a DX 8 gen 2 and my Night Radian only gives me the RX voltage of 5.xx volts displayed in my telemetry. I don't get battery remaining volts or ESC volts
Go into your telemetry and activate the voice for the esc voltage and set the intervals in which you want it to tell you the voltage
@@DeucesWildRC my DX8 doesn't even show an ESC screen or smart screen. Only the voltage to the reciever data

You can go into telemetry then settings and auto configure

did you have to do any software upgrades on the mod before you installed it?
No mods, no soldering or software anything, it’s a drop in replacement and simple swap
I heard you say the original one your sending back to Brian? did you get a faulty one, bc im in touch with him myself and all I get is nose/fuse and elevator lights. I get no wing or tail lights Ive move them around to different inputs and nothing. any ideas? bc I think I got a faulty board?
Yes the first one I ordered was programmed for a different plane, he sent me the correct one and I sent him the first one back, if you’re having trouble with your unit just contact him I’m sure he will take care of you
@@DeucesWildRC yeah he is going to send me a new one. when I plug the wing into the wing plugs they dont work but if I plug them into the fuse or nose they work. also Im sending back the bird to horizon bc the the tail led isnt working and I check all the fittings but its a faulty led. Im not having luck lately. Thanks again Bud
