    Thanks so much for the review of the WingnutTech LED controller. A few things I would like to correct from the video:
    1. If you are running firmware 1.2.4, please do not change the endpoint throws on your transmitter. Version 1.2.4 introduced auto sensing of the signal range, so after you power up, simply roll your transmitter knob from low to high and the controller will automatically set the endpoints according to your signal.
    2. The LED strips in the video were glitching. It wasn't the controller. There are times when the individual LEDs will glitch and cause the remaining LEDs downline to freeze. This is what was happening during the video. As you saw, simply powering them off and back on will reset them. It's easier to just unplug the input cable on the LED controller and then plug it back in. This will reset all the LED strips at once. Most of the time this is caused by a bad connection, probably inside the wing.
    3. Sorry for the confusion on the wire colors. I assure you I am not color blind. LOL. Typically, servo leads are black, red, and white or sometimes brown for the signal. I am surprised to see that HH made their leads all different colors from the standard. Red and black have always been positive and negative, so to vary from that is strange. The basic thing to remember is that the signal wire should be on the pin farthest from the board, no matter what color that is.
    Thanks again, Brian, to you and your camera crew. Awesome job!

      They Also Use Orange Signal Wires On Some Brands! GREAT PRODUCT BRIAN w/Wingnuts!!! Thanks 😍 PS Have You Also Thought About Writing Other Arduino Program Codes To Use Your LEDs Controllers In Other C@@L Applications? Say Like On Real Airplanes, Cars, Trucks, Boats, ETC!??? 🤣😎 PSS What Is The Maximum Number Of LEDs That This Arduino Controller Capable Of??? 🤔

    I watched Air Marshall's installation of this system last week and its not just functionally superior, but physically a much cleaner cable management option for a plane that doesnt have a lot of room for that stuff.
    Great product, and really a must-have if you have this plane. Love the verio setting.

    Loved the video... like all of yours, very helpful!
    I just finished installing the Wingnut controller on my new Night Radian 2.0m, BNF version. Some little things changed since this video was made. There are numerous warnings on the Wingnut website about having to reprogram your controller if you are putting the Wingnut on a BNF version, and their FAQ points to special serial cables needed to do that, and so forth. They even make you acknowledge a disclaimer about using it with a BNF Night Radian, when you order the Wingnut board! I don't think that applies if you use a Spektrum transmitter with Forward Programming.
    The Wingnut Controller board underwent a complete redesign in late 2022. Functionally its the same, however the buttons are now on the opposite side of the controller pcb. The instructions say to install it with the buttons facing up so you can get to them, however I think that was intended for the old design pcb. If you do that with the new controller board, all the LED plugs threaten to interfere with the servo closest to the front. Only way I could get it to fit in "nicely" was with the buttons down (so you have to lift the board out to use them). I suspect the Wingnut folks just figured that they were giving you control from your transmitter, so the buttons aren't needed with most transmitters anyway.
    Like Brian's, my plane would not exit SAFE mode. Before installing Wingnut, I bound it to my NX transmitter with Safe Select enabled per the Radian manual. But to get it out of SAFE and make that selectable, I had to use Forward Programming to change SafeSelect from INH to AX1. Then of course assign AX1 to a switch in Channel Assignments.
    Finally... I just plugged the Wingnut into controller port 5 (per the manual, that's "lights") and I assigned channel 5 (normally Gear) to the Rotary Knob. All works like a champ!!! LOVE IT!

It is bigger, and the buttons were on the WRONG side of the board, my plane required cutting of the styrofoam to get it to fit without interfering with the elevator and rudder servos. If you need to get hold of them, you need to go to them...
      Sorry you had issues with your plane. If you do keep having issues, you could try to unplug the sections from the controller and this might make it work.

    W o W ....was all excited to buy this until I put my postal address in and get 40usd send.
    All other countries 18usd..but OZ $40?....The device costs $35usd and I really don't understand how or why it would cost $40usd to post this TINY item to Australia.....

      @mapleacrefarm 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Random, sorry about that. There is currently a shipping restriction from US to AUS. The price had gone up before the restriction was put in place, which is why my site still said $40. Once the restriction is lifted, the shipping cost will be $20 from US to AUS. Unfortunately, I don't know when the restriction will be lifted.

      @@mapleacrefarm Hey Brian.....( shipping restriction) to Australia? I would of thought after buying a handful of "Nuclear Subs" just a few day's ago would make us here down under popular 😍
      I know we're "Asia Pacific" but definitely not anywhere near China, so rest assured I won't be giving up your tech to them🤣🤣🤣
      Please I really do want one as I just purchased a V2 night radian which should be delivered in the next few days and your module is just brilliant...

    There's nothing wrong with windows 7! I'm pretty sure you will regret switching over to windows 10 when you get your new computer up and running! You've been warned! Don't say I didn't tell you so!

    • @jimvalim1567
      @jimvalim1567 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have more control over your computer with windows 7, then windows 10! Something Microsoft doesn't want you to have!

      At least you can turn off updates that can break your system with windows 7! With windows 10 you can delay an update, but not stop it! It's tearable that Microsoft pushes updates on computers that break it! I'm almost positive they do this on purpose!

      I love Windows 7, and I'm VERY well versed in it, but when I went from Windows XP Pro, I was very VERY leery.
