Happy Anniversary! “coolant reservoir” Suggestion on flattening the area for your first hole, after drilling the hole, use two large thick flat washers 2-3 inches around, then use a long bolt 8-10 inches or longer to be bolted tightly to the fender w/ the long end facing up and washers on both sides , use the long bolt as leverage pulling towards the passenger fender, keep tightening bolts to keep it flat till you get it how you want it, hope this helps. Y’all doing a great job on these videos, very informative and detailed, thanks for sharing y’all’s knowledge, i’m fixing to do my first LS swap on my 82 C/10 and y’all are giving me the confidence to tackle the job, keep doing what y’all doing,
Thanks so much for your comment! We appreciate you watching! We have a bunch more LS swap videos on the way, so if there's something specific you'd like to see that we haven't covered, just let us know! 👍
Working on a Red Square Body... how appropriate... Red is the color for a second year wedding anniversary. All the best on your Second Anniversary Emily and Jerry. Thanks for sharing your day with us. 🎉
You make the BEST most informative videos pertaining to LS swaps💯...... Thank you I appreciate the vids more than you know, I'm someone who can't watch a video over 5min they usually lose me but your videos that are an hour plus I have actually sat and watched multiple times, I'm addicted to UTX these days getting prepared to tackle my swap...... Thank you
Thanks so much Matthew! Glad to hear you're liking the videos! We have plenty more on the way, so if there's something you'd like to see that we haven't covered, let us know!
I end up bending that line just a little bit so it fits. That is why I like that style reservoir bottle. We will do video on that when we get to that point also. Thanks.
I use all the stock hoses from the donor. I am not sure if I have ever really shown it but know that I mention it now and then. Using the stock hoses from the LS makes it easier for me to give it back to the truck owner knowing they won't have a problem getting a part if needed. We have a ton of LS content coming up and I will try to touch on that. Thanks Carstars. Jerry and Emily
I am trying to plumb one in for an LS1 swap into a C4 Corvette and the old stock LT1 system is a plumbing nightmare. I am thinking I'll get a newer C5 type tank but I am not 100% sure where to run all the lines.@@UglyTruckExperience
Thanks for the very informative videos, I was curious how the brackets came together on the first cooling system video. I am in the early stages of an LS swap on a very similar looking truck. (Red C10)
🤣🤣 Instead of "Save big money at Menards" Jerry likes to change the words of their jingle to "Why don't you kiss my ......" (I have to keep it family friendly, but you can fill in the blank.) 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks Jason!
No, we haven't. We own a 1960 and a 1965 that we open the hood on once in a while and look at all of that space. Let us know how it goes. Thanks Mike. Jerry
Hi Jason! It depends on if you're talking about the original radiator on the C10, or the original LS donor radiator. The LS radiator does not have a fill cap, and the C10 radiator doesn't have a spot for the steam port. If you're going to use your original C10 radiator, you'll have to adapt a steam port into the upper radiator hose and make sure that radiator is able to keep that engine cool, size wise. Thanks for your question, hope this helps!
@@UglyTruckExperience Thanks, I was talking about using the original k20 radiator. I still have the donor vehicle, so I can grab the reservoir and it’s hoses. Thanks again. Btw, I built one of your gas pedal brackets today, it worked like a charm.
Happy Anniversary friends!! Every video is another question answered towards an LS swap. Still hooked on watching everything y’all put out. Only question I have so far is this: how many corns is that drill press rated at? If it’s a Harbor Freight drill press, are the corns metric, or are they the little tiny corn cobs that Tom Hanks eats in “Big”? I gotta know, I’m still trying to teach my daughter these units of measure…
Thanks Jon! You're exactly right! This is a 4 millicorn Hitachi drill press, which is made in Japan. As Jerry stated in another video, Japan is the only country that uses millicorns, as featured in the movie "Big". When the movie was released, Japan actually banned Tom Hanks from entering the country because they considered the scene disrespectful to the millicorn system, but revoked the ban after Hanks promised never to eat millicorns publicly again. 🤣🤣 We appreciate you watching, and I'm glad you are passing this information on to future generations!
Great video as usual! Have you guys ever used rivnuts? I recently discovered them and started using them at work. I think it would be an excellent option for a welder-free, but also easy to install setup. They are an absolute game changer when dealing with sheet or thin plate material. Best of all, a starter kit is very affordable as low as about 40 bucks on Amazon.
Just depends on whether you want a sealed system or a system with overflow. I prefer the sealed system myself but it really is just a matter of what you like. Thanks Jerry
@@UglyTruckExperience I’m trying to figure how to explain this so water pump has a hose that is a y off the water pump to the reservoir the same hose also goes to the heater core then it comes from the heater hose to back to the water pump can I just route it back to the water pump instead to the heater core because at this moment I’m not using a heater core I’m just wondering if will have issues cooling
Happy Anniversary !! Nice to use what you have but, if I don't have a bottle I like to keep it simple and install a Dorman 603-001 Coolant Reservoir Bottle. It has mounting ears and bolts directly to the fender and done. Best $10 off Amazon I ever spent.
You couldn't be more right I keep saying that we need to start doing silent movies. It would make all of this hard work much easier. Thanks for watching. Jerry
Happy anniversary! Thanks for sharing with us. Hope juice feels better
Thanks Bill! Juice is back to 100% and driving us crazy. 🤣🤣

An other great video. Well explained. No rocket science. I'm almost finished with my swap. Your videos helped me a lot.
Thanks Beto! These swaps don't have to be as complicated as some people make them out to be! Thanks for watching! 👋
Simple home built brackets! Love it! That's the way to do it. Thanks for sharing. Happy Anniversary!!!
Thanks Jason! We appreciate you watching!
Great job guys! I was going to say what about rivnuts but that way looks stronger!!
Thanks Rick! Someone else mentioned rivnuts too... They look pretty handy!
Another GREAT JOB
Thanks! We appreciate you watching!
And happy anniversary!!😊
Congratulations 🎉
Thanks Ray!
A video on mounting the fuse box would be awesome!
Are you reading our minds?? 🤔😆 That's next on our list!
Congratulations on your second anniversary! And I’m sure sorry about juice and hope she didn’t eat something bad.
Thanks Geebop! Juice just shredded an oil filter box all over the shop floor, so I think she's feeling better! 🤣🤣 We appreciate you watching!
Happy Anniversary you guys
Thanks Rick! 👋
Great Video! Can you tell us what model vehicle the coolant reservoir, you used in this video, came out of?
Thanks for watching! That reservoir was out of a 2005 Suburban, but I believe the trucks and Tahoe's are all the same for several years in that range.
Nice job, but will the ac low pressure fit on the accumulator
I end up bending that line just a little bit so it fits. That is why I like that style reservoir bottle. We will do video on that when we get to that point also. Thanks.

Is the coolant reservoir required or can the original radiator be used alone and sufficient? This is my first Swap into my square body. Thanks.

Is it recommended to add a reservoir to my swap

Where does the big bottom hose connect to
That hose goes goes to heater hoses that Y off at the water pump. Hose furthest forward at the pump. Thanks Jacob
