😂 Had to rewatch this this morning, I tried watching it too late last night and fell asleep during the cheese 🧀 box😂

You can plant the bottoms of the celery (start in water until you get some roots) and it will regrow (not quite as big, but...).
Have you tried making lasagna with cottage cheese, ground meat, and sliced zucchini as the noodles? It is inexpensive, and terrific.

If you take regular black tea and stir it with a candy cane, you'll get peppermint flavor and the kids get a piece of candy. My kids used to like it. Great shopping, have a great week and stay healthy

I do this, and also use with coffee and hot chocolate too.

I’ve done the kielbasa and a pound of mild Italian sausage with veggies, cream cheese and beef broth in the crock pot for some yummy sausage soup. When serving, I top it with some sour cream and shredded cheese 😋 !

I’m pretty sure mint is like basil. When you prune them go just above the leaf nodes and they will split into 2 everywhere you cut it like that, then twice as much grows back, then you cut each of those two and they double and so on. I got 4 good harvests from my mint this summer but I didn’t get any flowers either. I also got a crap ton of basil. I love lemon basil for tea and regular basil instead of pepper in a lot of recipes. Especially on meats.

I think venison tastes just like ground beef 🤷‍♀️ although deer around here eat corn and soybeans so maybe that’s why

Nice grocery haul, but there is cereal that's very reasonable, like Rice Chex, corn Chex, wheat Chex, and those boxes are huge don't forget plain corn flakes, Aldi's normally have those cereal for under two dollars, cheaper than the cheese ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

ESP paired with whole milk it makes it more filling and satiating

Ibotta doesn’t have as much at Aldi but if you have access to a Walmart they can have some pretty good deals on food and pet stuff.

Try canning the deer meat. It has better flavor than oven cooking it. To me, anyway.

Check your mint plant. I’ve had temps in the twenties on multiple nights and my mint still has lots of leaves, they might be reddish but they’re perfectly fine.

I just made tiny pizzas on the little tortillas in my toaster oven. Toast them for a couple minutes first if you want a crunchy crust.

If the tomatoes are F1 hybrids, they probably won't come true to type. They'll still be nice, just not the same as the originals

Seriously soak deer meat in milk for 30 minutes and then rinse until all the red runs out. It tastes sooooo much better

Do you have fruit trees? They sure do help with providing fresh, canned, frozen and dehydrated fruit to make your harvest last a lot longer.

I have been buying only marked down meat for many years and I notice other people doing the same thing so the stores might have less meat to donate

    • @weepingwillowhomestead

We raised a small batch of chickens one year and hope to do that again. We don't have near enough land for a cow but we have considered a pig.

  • @christieflesch3750
    @christieflesch3750 ปีที่แล้ว

No it’s because grocery stores are vowing for zero waste so they are trying to mark everything down so people are waiting for them to mark stuff down and that’s why they’re buying it that’s why you’re not seeing as much donated. I did pricing for 30 years for Dillons or Kroger.
