The video was very good and informative. I just did mine today off of your video. One thing I took the passenger air bag out and it was very easy to take out and put back in with no problems
My knuckles are now jacked up, but both driver and passenger sides blend doors are replaced and AC working like a charm. MANY thanks to your video as I didn't try to get out the phantom "3rd screw" on the passenger side! Mine didn't have one either and so glad I watch your video - helped a ton and saved me a big headache or two!!
Thank you for doing the passenger side. I too, could only find video's for replacing the driver's side 🤔 OMG! Couldn't believe how many screws were missing! 😲 That's crazy! The dealership removed my dash yrs. back, and didn't put all the screws back in. Hopefully the shop who does this job for me can see where those screws go 🙏
Thank you for watching. Yes, I had a lot of screws missing as well. Opened my eyes to the condition of the car. I hope they aren't charging too much to do the job.
Great video and thanks for the tips. I was able to take my passenger side actuator out this weekend. Hopefully I can find a similar video for the drivers side so that I can complete this project this week.
Did your passenger side knob change the number display for cold to hot? Mine does not. I think its my control knob part thats not sending signal to the acuator door.?
I replaced the passenger side a long time ago, couldn’t get to the driver’s side one without taking out some stuff so left it there, but of course now it had to fail too. Luckily unlike for the passenger side one it seems you don’t need to remove the dash
question? was it possible to remove that aluminum bracket behind the glove box? if not remove it.. maybe cut a little away to have better access to the actuator?
I hadn't thought of that. I'm sure it's held on by bolts. There were cutouts to access the actuator. Although I thought I had the correct angle, maybe my geometry was off.
I have to do my drivers side sooner or later. It does blow warm air steadily. If all goes well I will be moving to Florida very soon, so I will probably be using the A/C periodically. Ive only used it twice here in Pa. I should have done it when I fixed the H.U.D., and the climate control display, but I got impatient and put the interior back together. I read that the drivers side can be done from underneath so I will look at it when I change the steering wheel.
Before you go through all that, disconnect the battery for about five minutes, I found out the computer had to reboot. It worked for awhile, but I had to change the actuator. Good luck!
You'll definitely need that A/C in Florida. I hope you're able to move there. I'll be fixing my HUD over the winter. How hard was it? There is a good video on here to do the driver side. Let me know if you want the link. What steering wheel did you go with?
@@CadillacJones The HUD wasnt bad at all. Be careful not to touch projection screen, mirror, inside the unit. I watched all the vids on it. It cost nothing, just had to be careful removing all those interior pieces. I did take the top of the dashboard out through the removable roof opening. That part will be tougher for you. Two people makes it good though. That link would help if you would be so kind. I just bought a used, excellent condition c5 wheel. The previous owner put deep scratches, and gouged the original wheel in numerous places. I like the interior and didnt want to spend 1000 on a steering wheel. I paid 119 shipped and its flawless. I will keep this car mostly stock except for performance. Even those upgrades I did with C5 Z06 sways, and springs. As I age I seem to appreciate stock cars more than I used to. They just delivered a Vararam a few days ago I have to add to my list. Its my first mod outside of suspension.
There's an actuator on both sides. The actuator is what switches the heat and AC. So if you have one side stuck on heat or AC, then it's not than like the actuator
Good job Brother, I tried to do the drivers side blender, had it all apart, I just couldn’t get the last screw out of the actuator. After two hours, I put everything back together. When it cools off a little I’ll try again! Stay Safe!

Good work man. Dude, I tried to get to that third screw for so long 🤦♂️
Glad I could help thanks for watching.
Excellent video!!!!!! I will be doing mine soon, thanks again for taking the time to do the video on this.
I’m very impressed ! I’m a very very old mechanic with a 2001 C5 doing the same job !
I appreciate it man. Haven't done many repairs but I'm trying to learn.

I appreciate you watching and no worries. Did you find a video for the driver side? I seen one awhile ago that I could send you the link to
I hope you did them at the same time, would have been a breeze!
@@brandon_907 🤦 I didn't even think about that.
Outstanding video dude!
Dude u just helped me get thanks brother
I appreciate you continuously watching
Nice job and thank you for sharing

Outstanding. Thank you!
Thank you for watching.
Hi , do you remember which type of screw attached the actuator? I mean the regular ones or T15 screws?

Thanks so much! Too bad the whole dashboard has to be removed, but at least theres a full how-to video!
Thank you for watching. It does. I'm thinking I didn't need to remove the glove box but it made things easier.

@@gapadp I appreciate you as well.
Loved the video! How much did you pay for the actuator?
I appreciate it man. I honestly can't remember. I received an Amazon gift card for my bday and I used that. I will look it up and get back to you.

I’m not finding info for 2 separate actuator part numbers . Is it the same part on both sides?
Yes.
Thank You
Thank you for watching.
When the blender actuatir is faulty does it make the passengers side heater stay on always?
There's an actuator on both sides. The actuator is what switches the heat and AC. So if you have one side stuck on heat or AC, then it's not than like the actuator
Great job, What year is your Corvette? Also does it have dual climate control?
Thank you. 2002 and yes it does.
Is the part number the same for both sides?
They are. Some have auto temp control and others are for manual temp controls. As long as you grab the correct one, you'll be fine.
@@CadillacJones thanks. Much appreciated.

Does it rattle like crazy with all the missing screws?
Surprisingly it doesn't. Most of my noise comes from the center console when I lean on it.
Nice job bro, wow a lot to do to change that! 👍👊
@@themcandrews5862 I appreciate that. It really was. I was about to stop towards the end but I made it to far.

No thanks. Looks like my passengers are gonna have to keep suffering
😂😂 I'm usually that way as well but the heat was stuck on on that side. In the summer, that's rough.
