I like reloads. It's main reason for using midcaps. I like to be limited (somewhat) on ammo in one mag. So I mostly use like 60-80 BBs midcaps which usually work just fine without extreme pressure on BBs. And I carry like 6 of them.

      Yes!
And most of our fields/games over here follows the same standard rules.
Me, who falls in the AUTO B class, are confined to a maximum of 80bb's per mag, so midcap is kinda just easier(plus I also like the reloading).
      Unrelated:
Auto B also can't have more than 389,3fps / 118,7mps for 0,25 and 307,4fps for 0,3. And a safety distance of 10meters, whitin 10m I'll have to draw my "cqb-fps" sidearm if I want to shoot anyone.

The rattle is enough for me to never touch a hicap again, so long as I am able to get good midcaps for the gun I'm running (LMGs notwithstanding, of course, not like you're gonna be sneaky beaky like with one of them).
That being said, the winding is also a disadvantage that has a few potential benefits. Takes ages, finger gets sore, just as bad as rattling when out in the field. It's why I far prefer flash mag style hicaps, since they wind so much faster.
Also, you actually get to reload when you use a midcap, hicaps hold too much ammo. Objectively inferior in terms of game performance, I know, but I just love to reload in the middle of a battle.

Everyone says "hi caps hold more ammo" but i would say they don't hold more where you really need it. A highcap might hold 700 bbs but most I've had only get like 50 shots before you have to wind, versus a midcap only holds 100 but you get all 100 continuously. And ill bet i can swap mags just as fast if not faster than it would take me to wind the midcap enough for it to start feeding again

They rattle, you can fire less continuously before you have to turn the little wheel, sometimes the little trapdoor through which you put the BBs in goes loose very quickly so if you're not careful it just opens and spills it out. And reloading in general is not problem. The price for capacity ratio is a fair point for hicaps but if you're already spending 300£ for an Airsoft gun, you can afford extra 20£ worth of mags.

The main reason i switched to midcaps is they feed more reliably. I couldn't get any of the 3 hicaps i had to feed consistently at 20 rps in my ak which just has a 22k motor, 11.1 25c 1300 mah, and standard 18:1 gears. I only run .25's. I switched to pts tpm's and they fed flawlessly. I don't know why it's like that but the stock cyma bakelite ak74 mag was skipping 3 rounds when i tried to shoot full auto every few shots. Double eagle metal ak47 hicap same thing. And cyma Bulgarian 5.56 flash mag again didn't work. That's not to say they don't work on semi because they do and yes i can pull the trigger really fast and they will feed. Its just the full auto for some reason. It also wasn't a case of too much pressure because if it was it would've stopped after the first shots.

    • @ALEX-xd7ko
      @ALEX-xd7ko ปีที่แล้ว

I have the exact opposite issue. Midcaps wont feed my hose gun over 20 rps unless i use light weights . As soon as i through. 32 in a mid cap they act like a prome date and choke even on semi . I can throw a drum or flash in them and they will eat .32g @ 30/35 rps all day .

In my club we use to call midcaps as “Maracas” because of the rattling sound.
But after one of my buddies bought an Arcturus HK416 (he has a specific fetish for that replica, no way to fix it), midcap syndrome showed up like a mushroom in july: no freaking way to fit hi-cap magazines in it. 😅
He CAN’T fit hi-cap mags into that.
And I even tried some of my stanag mags to see which fits or not.
So, in the middle of an engage, you’re screwed, because changing midcaps is a waste of time, while with a rattling one you unload whatever bbs you want.

definitively a high cap user here, but one question regarding the nozzle fitment tho, the nozzle may wobble a bit on the cylinder head when by themselves, but what about the whole assembly? if the Hop up block doesn't allow much movement for the nozzle, then it should not interfer with the loading of the bb's and therefore the goal would be to get the smoothest movement of the nozzle on the cylinder head? (since the nozzle would not move much thanks to the Hop up Block). Would a Delayer be a better solution then since it will keep the nozzle open for longer?

My issues with highcaps: they rattle, you don't always know how much tension (read: shots before you have to wind again) is in the clockwork spring, the winding wheel is a drag to use (flash mags are a thing, but they introduce another failure point), that clockwork spring is easy to break if you're a caveman like me and overwind the shit out of them, and you can very easily jam a highcap. There's also the issue that a lot of milsim organizers don't allow highcaps (and limit the number of mags you can carry)... but they will allow EPM1s which are close enough in capacity.

how can you say the only disadvantage to high caps is that they rattle? If you have a high rps you need a good quality midcap or else you will be dry firing a hell of a lot, you will always be dry firing because you need to wind the stupid thing more then you shoot with it, If you want to play at a milsims you will need to bin them and buy some midcaps anyway, 99% of high cap brands are just cheap trash, there more heavy because you have more bb's in your loadout, If you want to reload mid game it means you have to bring a bottle of bb's with you, The only high caps I can agree with you on is the p90 mags because they reload the whole mag with 1 wind, I have fully custom DSG build and can't even use high caps because the springs are never strong enough unless you literally modify the mag to get it to feed. both of your cases are edge cases tbh, milsim is the minority of games as are DSG builds.
as for reloading most people don't they just carry a second hicap and if you need more than 1200 rounds in an hour long game then you're looking at box mags or really looking at how you are shooting.

After watching just 2 videos from this guy I can already extrapolate what he thinks about people trying to take Airsoft seriously in any way and pretending it's not just wackos shooting each other with toy guns for fun. So with that I daresay he doesn't care about milsim too much...

    REAP CAP OR BUST
i hate mid caps and high caps. Beyond the adrenaline rush from reloads, BB warz too often becomes two sides at near or beyond max range just trying to hose one another without any actual tactics.
seriously your next skirmish. let your team mates shoot, get tthem to suppress,.

Tbh if you're sneaking around, you shouldn't be moving in a way that makes you high cap rattle anyway.
As someone who carries around an AUG with a backpack filled with ammo while using a high cap, I can still easily sneak around if I need to. So the rattle doesn't even bother me whatsoever.

Mid caps feed better, weigh less, have less to break due to a simpler design. While you don't have to reload with hi caps as much, the rattle and unreliability compared to mid caps are enough to stay away from hi caps. Ever since I got my mid caps, I haven't touched ANY of my hi caps for any reason.
Edit: This ^ was in terms of M4s. Mid caps on a lot of different platforms are pretty garbage.

I had a highcap for my m4 and it was garbage, it wouldnt feed at all i literally had to hold the gun upside down to use it, midcaps use a spring with constant pressure to push a new bb into the barrel highcaps use a gear system and rely on bbs to keep the pressure in order for it to feed new rounds and that is unreliable

  • @Micromation

Games with 40rnd per mag limitation led to much more interesting matches in my experience. There isn't much nuance to coming towards the corner while constantly hosing it with an infinite stream of BBs. With forced frequient downtimes due to reloading it creates opportunities for attackers and defenders for counter play. It associates opportunity cost with pulling the trigger and encourages planning ahead. It allows you to be caught off-guard and catch enemies pants down. 90rnd works better outdoors since you use on average more BBs to hit someone than indoors due to environmental conditions and average engagement distance.
In general, I really love the idea of midcap mags with capacity switch, they work really damn well but unfortunately, they're not widely adopted - hobby has been long since overtaken with wallet warriors and it became cock measuring contest at who can spit out more BBs hence the "wanker builds" with 1000rpm and idiots overshooting everyone...
On the other hand, PTS Syndicate EPM1 magazines exist if you run M4 platform - 250bbs, perfect feeding and no rattle or winding up...
