How to Convert a parallel printer using a Parallel to USB adapter Cable

- Aging Printer using parallel port or Centronics port. But new computer system Today no more parallel port. So, we use parallel to USB adapter cable to convert parallel to USB. This USB to parallel adapter cable can support OLD Dot Matrix Printer, Laserjet, and inkjet. And compatible with Windows 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 / XP / Vista / 2000, Linux, Mac OS 8.9 and above.
USB to parallel Adapter cable no driver installation is required. No external power adapter needed, just plug and play. But before purchase the parallel to USB adapter cable, Please check your printer driver still available for your OS that you are using now.
USB to IEEE-1284, USB to DB25 printer cable, USB to parallel, parallel to USB, USB to Centronics. All do the same function.
If you get the cable "USB to DB25" then you just use back your existing parallel printer cable and connect with the converter cable.

Brilliant. I have two printers, and the Win10 PC was sending print jobs for both to the wifi one. I should have realized (remembered?) that I needed to set the parallel one up by choosing the port manually, and it worked first time when I followed your instructions. Hurrah! Many thanks.

Thanks for your comments and Thanks for watching. This Panasonic Dot Printer is using Parallel port IEEE 1284 watch 0:21 this packing was stated IEEE 1284. But for the GPIB is using GPIB (IEEE 488). GPIB interfaces are commonly found on most test instruments today.

I did saw that but I have often seen products from China that were labeled wrong. But yes I am sorry, I was wrong it is a parallel port, but of the bidirectional type, where the one I think of as the parallel port, is this one: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallel_port. Which one cable is better parallel port to usb or serial port to usb?
So the cable uses the usbprint.sys driver but any idea if it can be used as a general purpose I/O, not a printer? For example, I have old software that expects a parallel port (not usb), so I imagine, I'd have to write a usb driver that intercepts the program/OS's IO read/writes (_inp/_outp) to 0x378 and manually route instead to/from the usb-parallel port? There's an old Dr. Dobb's article called 'Direct Port I/O and Windows NT' that talks a little about it, but I'm not sure if it's possible.
Ii is a great idea. but I don't know about the programming. Should be able to work. Do more research from google. there must be some way. Hope you will succeed.
