In this tutorial i have show how to install HP LaserJet 5000n with Parrallel-to-USB Cable.
I have a HP Parallel Printer and I am going to connect that to a laptop.
You must have the appropriate Driver of the Printer. If not you can search and download the driver from company website. As for the HP Printer you can use the HP Universal Printer Driver which can support almost all printer.

Then Connect the Parrallel-to-USB Cable to your Computer or Laptop. Do as show in the video.

nope. not working. files just sit in the spooler and never print. no errors when installing printer. selected virtual USB port. help!

method is same for any printer but here you have to install your epson driver correctly

when you press print command and if printer respond, then it means connection is successful. The second thing to check is; printer-ink, the document you want to print contain some text. Try with another laptop, is it still showing the same problem? Try once with another laptop, hope you will probably may find out the reason.
Sir I have epson lq2090 dot matrix it’s showing device is not recognised please help I’m trying in usb cable please help I’m struggling this problem is so many days
For the dot matrix, I suggest to download and install driver from internet. Once you have the right driver installed surely the USB cable will work.

Strictly the title of the video is misleading - this does NOT convert a parallel port to USB - it converts a USB port to a centronics (LPT).
The conversion the other way is much more complex (ie connecting a USB printer to a centronics / parallel port). This can be done within a Windows based machine using various parallel port capture software (assuming the Windows machine then has a USB port to connect a modern printer).
However, if you don't have access to Windows, then you need a hardware solution such as our own Retro-Printer module for the Raspberry Pi - www.retroprinter.com
