I once had a guy at work sit in the stall next to me, with rather explosive number two. It was so bad the other people in the bathroom murmured and walked out. Just when I think it's all over and a hush falls in the room, I hear the crack of a soda can open and him just guzzling it down. The confidence of this man blows me away.

I was listening to Shane Gillis' podcast the other day and he said he went to see you work out your new hour. He said "I'm not kidding, Nate might be #1 in the country right now. Seriously funny".
Not sure how much you listen to other comedians podcasts, but I frequently hear them giving you big props. Just wanted to throw a little encouragement your way, with how much Breakfast puts you down.

We'll boys I did it! I've listened to every episode of the Nateland podcast, but I listened to them... In reverse. I started with the newest episode at the time and continued on with the previous one until I finished them all. It has been an interesting experience starting off by knowing every inside joke, and then slowly learning the origins of them. This is easily my favorite podcast, keep up the good work boys!!

The way Aaron’s face changed when he realized what Brian meant when he said “companion” was beautiful. The immediate realization that all of these people thought they were a couple instantly hit him and he just said “Oh”. Little things like that is what makes this the best podcast around! Every week we are all just having a good time!

My husband refuses to rent dumpsters when we do any home renovation projects. Instead he says that the garbage pick up will take it. So for 7 weeks he would fill one garbage can with giant cement chunks from an old patio we tore up, an old bathroom countertop, and sinks. At one point my father-in-law slipped the garbage man a hundred bucks for the trouble. I hid inside for every trash pick up day.

Just wanted to share my own Southwest hack to prevent someone from sitting next to you. I choose an aisle seat in the back half of the plane then place my backpack in the middle seat. As people pass by looking for a seat I turn toward the middle seat and frantically look through my backpack like I lost something. I even start pulling stuff out of the bag to really sell it. The key is to completely avoid eye contact with others while also making it too much of a hassle for them to ask me if that seat is available. As soon as the attendants announce that everyone is boarded, I load everything back in my backpack and enjoy my comfy flight. It works every time. Wondering if y’all have any techniques you use?

If you ask my wife who my two favorite celebrities are, she’d tell you Nate Bargatze and Kyler Murray. So when Breadbasket asked who the greatest athlete to play for Arizona was, I was furious until Dusty saved the day. I guess since y’all pre-recorded the episode, y’all hadn’t yet watched Kyler’s INSANE plays to comeback against the Raiders this week? I was an assistant coach at Allen in Kyler’s senior year of HS football where he single-handedly brought us back to win every single time. 43-0 over three football seasons as the starting QB in the largest division in HS football, and he won 3 straight TX State Championships. On pure athletic ability alone, he’s on a league of his own. (First round draft MLB and NFL.) thanks dusty for being the common sense on the show

When Nate suggested playing patriotic music in the bathroom because it would make people want to stand up, I can attest to that exact thing. Early in my career, I was a substitute teacher and was subbing for a p.e. teacher. At the start of the day, I thought I should use the restroom before all the classes start rotating through. The morning announcements were going over the loudspeaker, and as soon as I dropped my pants, the Pledge of Allegiance started. I stopped mid-squat and stood back up . I was so conflicted - there was no one around me and I was alone in a stall, but I pulled my pants up and stood - right in the stall - with my hand over my heart and said the Pledge. I just seemed wrong to pee during the Pledge of Allegiance (during 'A Horse with No Name' would be no problem). Thanks for the laughs.

I lived in AZ for 6 yrs and it was over 115 for the first 2 weeks we lived there. We've seen people cook eggs on their driveway and bake cookies in their car, but I think the craziest story I've heard happened just recently. My dad lives in Scottsdale and woke up during the night (11pm ish) to what sounded like books falling off a shelf. He got up and walked around and finally figured it out. When he opened the garage he noticed that the 12-pack of aluminum club soda cans had exploded. The fact it was that hot, at night, inside the garage, is so crazy. Love the show!

I live in Phoenix, going to the second show on Saturday! I vividly remember the big haboob you guys were seeing in the google image search. It's an interesting phenomenon because it produces really cool images and videos, but is ultimately underwhelming. We couldn't really see that one coming as it came from behind South Mountain. I was only a couple miles away as it rolled over the mountain, which was a visual unlike I've ever seen before or since. However, other than forcing us into a Denny's due to visibility being too limited to drive, the only damage it caused me was covering our porch couch in a layer of dust that it could never recover from.

I feel like my whole life just changed when I learned the recycle basket goes into the SAME bag!! I almost always have a tiny panic attack when I am forced to choose where to dispose of each item when I’m throwing something away. But next time I feel those looks of disapproval from someone who thinks I’m choosing wrong, I’m going to confidently announce, “It’s all the same-no shame!” 😎

I have also been on a weight loss journey and Nate's food problems segments resonated with me. I'm a short guy at 5'6 and got up to about 205lbs and am now back at 175, which was my original goal. It seemed so far away that I set it far but attainable. Now I think my line has probably moved to 155 or 150 because you realize how far past being in the right shape you went. You gain weight so slow over a long period of time so you don't realize how far past it you got.
I just cheated while eating this and ate 1000 calories of chips so we all still have stuff we need to work on. Enjoy the cheat weekend Nate and I appreciate you inspiring me while I've been on a similar journey.

I went to a poor high school in TN and our football locker room had one toilet with no door. Everyone would use the bathroom before we went to the practice.. except one guy who would poop every day in the open toilet and talk to people as the went by! He either has the most confidence ever or is a psycho! Anyways, we’re still friends so time will tell.

My cousin works at a recycling plant and took me on a tour four years ago. It was great! They have a large processing area where glass is sorted and crushed, aluminum is compacted, and where they take old tires. The plant has a program which gives special needs adults an opportunity to work. It was a two hour tour to see everything.

Had tickets to this weekend's taping of the special in Phoenix. On our way there, we got a call from our babysitter that our house was flooding so we had to turn around and go back. As a consolation, I suggested we listen to this week's podcast and at least get in the mood. My wife, who has never seen Nate perform standup, said "This is who we were going to see?". I saw Nate in Jacksonville, Oregon this year! There was a man and woman in front of us, the guy laughed about 6 times. That is through all 3 acts, Folks. At first, I was mad at him because the jokes were hilarious. Then, I was just sad for him because he must not have a sense of humor. After that, I was sad for his date. My group had a blast. Dusty Slay - I’m a glass artist - all glass isn’t the same. Glass has a coefficient of expansion and different kinds of glass have different COE’s. You can’t simply melt down all used glass to use it again. It’s a sweet thought but doesn’t work out that way.

Hello Nate, Aaron, Dusty, and Brattle-brig,
Back in 2014 I took a group of students on a service trip to a Native American reservation in Fort Defiance, AZ. Arizona was not observing daylight savings, time but the reservation was. Fort Defiance is also right on the border of New Mexico (which we had to travel into throughout the week), which does observe daylight savings time. It was a week of utter chaos and confusion around what the correct time was as we traveled on the Res, and off the Res, and then into New Mexico time and time again throughout the week. Consistently having to add and subtract hours, and have "Who's on first?" conversations about what time someone was referring to when speaking.

When Nate talked about drinking calories it really hit home for me, for the better part of 2 decades I drank a 12 pack of regular soda a day, it took awhile to catch up to me, but in my early 40s it did. I don't know exactly how much weight I've lost as I didn't want to weigh myself toward the end, but I've added 3 holes to my belt (in the right direction) and the double xl shirts I bought to cover my gut now make me look ridiculous.. zero calorie drinks for the win! The reason Smokey Mountain National Park is the most visited park is because there are no gates and a lot of the roads are used for through traffic. The park counts the cars that enter as 2 people. So if you live in the area and drive through the park for normal travel throughout the year, you are counted multiple times even if you never get out of your car.

In regard to the recycling discussion, around 25 years ago, I used to work for a very large engineering firm and they started a recycling program. It was for paper only. They issued each of us a separate recycling can and gave us a list of what to recycle and what to put in the regular garbage. You recycled newspaper, copy paper, etc. but not coated paper like magazines. Also included in the "do not recycle" list was "soiled toilet tissue". Did they have to include that item based on past experience?

We drove to from San Diego to Phoenix and made both shows. My goal was to meet Aaron, and we did spot him across the room during second show. By the end of the second show, we’d been at the theater for 7 hours, so rather than chase Aaron down for a “Hey Bear” we made a b-line for the exit. Sorry dude! By the way, Killer shows, Nate!

I LOVE y’all, but my mister can’t stand this pod. He doesn’t realize I’ve trained him to say “Hey Bear”. Winning! Thanks for the guffaws weekly. ❤

Aaron....ouch!!! Horse With No Name will never be the same for me, this was voted 'class song' when I was in high school, back in the dark ages. Actually, this is hilarious and I will always think about that song when using the bathroom. It (the song) really does need to be flushed anyhow, once and for all.
    Great podcast as always!

I am binge watching all the podcast and am on episode 116: Brian made a comment about paying or not paying for trash pick up. I live in Glocester Rhode Island. My town does not have trash pick up. We have to either pay for a private company to pick up the trash or go to the transfer station

Nate does not only suffer from dyslexia he also has these obsessions and compulsions that interfere with daily activities and cause significant distress, also known as OCD. The cup and soda thing just doesn't sound normal... anyway my wife and I went to see Nate in Thousand Oaks. Amazing show!

I got where he was coming from on the cup/drink thing. It's just not the same. I've poured a can of Coke into a McDonald's cup after finishing it and it just tasted weird.

I recycle because I feel horrible about all of the plastic. However, if you want to know what’s really happening, watch “The Story of Plastic” documentary (on Prime). It. Is. So Depressing.

I originally thought I’d be commenting that I saw Nate live for the first time in Long Beach last weekend and had such a great time, especially watching it with my older sister during the siblings bit. BUT after listening to this episode, “Horse with No Name” came on the radio as I was driving and all I could think of was Aaron’s public bathroom routine….sooooo I just want to say thanks for that fun association that I now have for all time. 👍🏻

Nathaniel - I know this was recorded a month ago but I’ll warn against losing too much. Several years back after my first daughter I, another 5’10.5” frame man weighed the most I had ever at 198. I saw a picture of myself and was disgusted. I proceeded to lose weight on healthy food and working out for about 120 days and dropped down to 160. I had so many people at work asking if I was ok and several asked if I had cancer or other diseases.
Just as people who are large don’t respond well to comments neither does anyone else. I proceeded to start eating bad again and within 2 years found myself at 208, my newest most ever.

The people who think those lights were aliens crack me up. So you think these things have mastered space travel, have flown around earth for decades undetected, but sometimes they're just rolling around at night with their lights on, lol.

I caught the show in Vegas. I was disappointed that Breakfast wasn't an opener. Nick was funny but Brian is surprisingly funny and would have brought more of the "folksy" feel to the show. Any way love the show keep it up.

Had to shake my head at Bertie Boy pronouncing it "gilluh" instead of "heelah" for Gila monsters. Would be a little surprised to find out no one on this podcast has ever performed at one of the Gila River Casinos here around town, but judging by the fact that no one caught it, that might be the case.

I live in Central Illinois and nobody gets free garbage service. We not only pay for garbage pickup, but pay extra to get recycling picked up. It's almost like they'd rather not bother with it so they figure if you have to pay a bunch extra, you'll just throw everything in the garbage.

This is the one where Nate thinks the hardest part of losing weight is getting down to the weight. Fast forward 40 or so episodes where he's gained it back. Keeping it off is the hardest part. Nate consistently sees the world through his current personal experience. I guess most of us do.

I think you should always read a comment like Ryan's in the beginning of a podcast because then as someone who grew up in Arizona whenever I cringe at things that are wrong I automatically feel like I am in the wrong because who would take these 4 jokers seriously!?
You would really cut down on any criticism!!!
Great episode, I love your banter!

I KID YOU NOT, walked into a bathroom about a week and a half ago in Texas and someone was playing horse with no name out loud on their phone from inside the stall. Kind of makes me wonder if it was Aaron, although I saw no indication that he was in Texas at that time. Hilarious conversation though. Whenever I have to go at someone’s house, I always turn on their bathtub if there’ no fan in the bathroom.😂
