The scientific illiteracy in this episode was astounding. That being said, this was by far the funniest episode in a long time. The chemistry between Nate, Aaron, Beefarino, and Dusty was electric. Keep up the good work
Everyone knows science is exactly what we are told it is when it comes to evolution. No if ands or butts. Same time the gvts, medical and drug companies and crooked lawyer politicians can 180 what we were told because they are in charge of science. Only they can change it, because we're dumb. We voted for them. Our decision. But it was the smartest thing and thus they are the smartest because science is based roughly on 60 percent voting and 90 percent voter fraud. Science is hard to explain. That's why contradicting definitions and permanent explanations must always be changed. Trust it. Always.
I was listening on Spotify but I had to come to TH-cam to understand the 30 minutes of this episode that was dedicated to a picture that no one described 😂
MAKE DUSTY A REGULAR!!! Dusty Stand-ups special was one of the best since Nate's. I got to see Dusty at Addison Improv and was dying with laughter. He then stayed around to take pictures with everyone; he is a class act.
I think this was one of the funniest episodes. Such a good way to spend my morning off. Things a Notre Dame grad probably never thought they'd say "contrary to popular myth, stegosaurus did not have a butt brain..."
I freaking love Dusty! Was introduced to him the first time he was on Nateland. Saw him in Denver and had a headache from laughing so much. Saw Nate last week and really enjoyed it SOO much. He is the best!!. Would love to see Joe Zimmerman as a guest too
When I saw Dusty was the guest this week, I said out loud to no one 'let's go folks!' Love this podcast, love Dusty, really enjoyed the last time he was on and so glad to see him back!
Mr. Bean explaining the difference between enviously and jealously had me rolling! The main difference between envy and jealousy is that envy is the emotion of coveting (wanting) what someone else has, while jealousy is the emotion related to fear that something you have will be taken away from you by someone else.
Haven't even started the episode yet but so happy to see Dusty back. He's been one of the greatest diamonds in the rough this podcast has given me. Went back and listened to all his albums after his first appearance. So happy to see him on the latest season of The Standups. Just an awesome dude and hilarious to boot. We're having a good time!
Watching Nate try to read reminds me when I was a kid, my dad decided to try to read to my brothers and I Adventures of Tom Sawyer. The only issue is it turned into him mispronouncing words and us correcting him. We finally got to a word neither of us could pronounce, ending the adventures of Tom Sawyer. Love the podcast!
I didn’t know how much I loved the format of this podcast until I started watching/listening others. I realized you guys responding to The comments at the beginning is one of my favorite parts.
Loved the callback to Columbus thinking manatees were mermaids! I remember the first time I heard that part, I was driving in a storm at night and I was laughing so hard that I was crying and couldn't see where I was going! The way Nate can hear one fact from Aaron or Brontosaurus and come up with a whole hilarious scenario in his head is amazing! Keep it up, folks!
I bet Aaron could have done a full hour on the Animorphs. did anyone else notice how much his face lit up and how much animorph knowledge he had just ready to come out? he really had to reign it in. I really felt like the guys could have made fun of him a little more for that and would appreciate a follow up on that.
After three years of writing, one year of shooting, four years of re-shooting, and two years of editing, I have finally caught up with all of the Nateland episodes. Love all you folks!
I remember when Tig Notaro, just pushed a stool across the stage making a funny noise for a while, and it worked. Was awkward for a bit but very funny.
I just discovered Tig's podcast with Cheryl Hines, called True Story. You might like it. Tig keeps it real like none of her, um-- social peers-- are willing to.
I was happy to see the subject because I knew Nate would have to say "saurus" at the end of every tenth word... He did not dissapoint. Thanks to all of you for getting me through the middle of my weeks.
You guys first mentioned doing a dinosaur episode long ago and I’ve been looking forward to it ever since, it did not disappoint! When Nate was talking about evolving his family in the water and Dusty said, “You gatta plan ahead. Head to the oceans.” I died. Thanks for making me laugh my entire hour long drive to work.
My wife and I have used the Family Tree app to discover that we are 9th cousins once removed! I think that’s a comfortable distance away. Also it wasn’t until this episode that I realized Aaron might regret having gone to Notre Dame. He doesn’t use his degree in his current career and he gets teased relentlessly for it! Would love to hear him talk about this
Best episode yet! Nate stuck with it and made jokes about dinosaurs instead of just saying "what are we doing? people are listening" I think Dusty helped keep the conversation comedic. Brings me back to the Animals episode. Keep the obscure topics coming.
Great episode guys!! My wife is also a HUGE Jurassic park fan (she’s not huge but I an deceiving her huge level of love for the franchise). We were recently watching the original and when I told her that velociraptor’s were actually closer looking to Turkey’s she refused to believe me. I reiterated that this is why they had the annoying kid in the beginning of the movie that says “that doesn’t look scary, looks more like a giant Turkey” when referring to the raptor they just discovered. The more you know :) Keep up the great work everyone. your podcast is the soundtrack of life. Just hit play and enjoy. thats how i got my friend Akila into listening to your podcast at work. it just produces joy.
When my daughter ever got grounded when she was young, as a punishment the only TV shows we allowed her to watch were old Black and White shows like, Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver and Gunsmoke. My wife and I thought it was a brilliant, yet boring punishment for a kid to only watch Black and White TV shows. (In 2010) Fast forward to 2021 where we just learned, she is color blind.
I'm team Nate & Dusty! We've been taught fantastical history that no human can testify to, as absolute certainty. But they're called ignorant for having any doubts whatsoever.
You can really feel Aaron struggling to toe the line between going with the jokes and just wanting to drop some knowledge bombs about the (really basic) science being butchered. I love watching him covering his face every 30 seconds.
Watching Aaron, sit there and trying not to comment about science, while Dusty and Nate doubt about things we actually have on hand... that dinosaurs died a long time ago, is the perfect version of the nateland podcast.
When I saw the topic was “dinosaurs” I figured a bunch of the podcast would be everyone but especially Nate just struggling to pronounce all the super hard dinosaur names. But y’all managed to evade it during the whole conversation. Impressive! Great episode, Dusty Slay was awesome too.
Hey Folks! The other day my Wife Kaylee texted me a trailer for a new game called "Aperture Desk Job" and asked, "Does this sound like Nate?!" To our amusement it turned out you weren't just the voice from the trailer but the main character throughout the game. We just finished playing it and it was great! You were hilarious as Gary the robot and we had a blast hanging out inspecting toilets and doing other fun things. Two of Valve's other games "Portal" and "Portal 2" (which are based in the same universe) have this same kind of quirky clever humor, and you should definitely check them out if you haven't already. I really hope to see Gary return in a future game someday! Did you have to follow a strict script or were you able to improvise and the make the character your own? Either way you nailed it! I imagine it took you forever to record all those lines.
Dusty Slay on Nateland a second time!? Love it! I also loved that during the comment roundup that you guys brought up the sitcom Coach for a little bit. It is one of my favorite shows and I have the whole series in box set on DVD that my Mom and brother got me for Christmas 2019. Not for sure if there are any Folks that are fans of Coach, but I think if I had to compare the characters to Nateland. Nate would be Hayden, Breakfast would be Howard Burley, Aaron would be Dauber, and I think Nick Novicki would be Luther. Hopefully a you guys and some of the fans will get this and get a good laugh out of it. Love listening to you guys every day!
Sup folks! Been involved since day one. Just love ya. Envy and Jealousy have a very distinct difference. Jealousy is basically a triangle. It must involve a third part. As in I’m ‘jealous’ of my partner liking someone else. Envy is wanting something someone else has. I had a sociology professor in undergrad that was literally on the Phil Donohue show and had a full thesis on it. Cheers!
So refreshing to hear some solid sarcasm thrown at scientific theories spouted as facts. Keep it coming! After all, science is supposed to be asking and challenging those simple questions, right?
I really enjoy Dusty as an addition as a 4th on the show. Many of the other guests you’ve had either try to take main stage or are an awkward fly on the wall. Dusty complements you guys so well as you all play off one another. Please either add him or just bring him back every 3 weeks like SNL did for a while with Justin Timberlake.
Only discovered the Nateland podcast a couple months ago and have been slowly trying to catch up. Currently on episode #30 (inventions). I wanted to leave comments on the episodes but I realized you all won't read comments from an old episode so why even bother. So I've decided to leave comments on future episodes with the hopes that once I get to the episode, I might hear my comment, as well as give you all some throwbacks to previous episodes. My top 3 highlights from Episode30: 1. Nate ragging on Aaron for gasping when he saw the iPhone reveal 2. Aaron choosing air conditioning as the greatest invention 3. Brian talking about the invention of vaccines/penicillin, Nate saying its dumb to even talk about, then Brian saying "I'm just trying to keep it on your level." Huge fan, love the show guys.
Oh my gosh, Nate Bargatze AND Dusty Slay in the same room?! I was really beginning to wonder if I had lost my sense of humor (given my age/stage of life) over the past few years and then I discovered these 2 hilarious guys in recent months! They both make my husband and I laugh out loud so much and bonus: we can watch Nate's stand up with our 5 year old daughter in the room. She only wishes that she could go to the Portland show this upcoming Saturday with us and her auntie and uncle. Haha. Can't wait for your show and good luck! Now you come to Portland Dusty!
This episode was one of my favorites in a long time! I just kept imagining some random person accidentally listening to it in search of educational content about dinosaurs, only to be hit with Belsnickel reading facts and having Nate and Dusty give nonsensical reasons why the fact was wrong. I laughed my butt off the whole time. Keep up the great podcast!
A possibly dyslexic, average American decides to team up with an abnormally normal young guy, and a just smart enough to be dangerous man. And they start a podcast.... How my descent into listening to your podcast started. The amount of times I have corrected your all's "facts" is ridiculous. But I still continue to listen. Way to go guys! Keep being the kings of random Nate, Aaron and Bucephalus!
I too got licked by a cow at a young age. Also have a double crown, so I was apparently royalty as well This episode got really hairy several times. Dusty's is majestic as always.
Y’all I laughed so hard during this episode. I look forward to cleaning my house so I can listen to Nateland. Who names these dinosaurs? The worst part of being a parent is trying to read these ridiculous dinosaur names. I sound like I’m learning to read while trying to pronounce their names. I always get excited when the book has the name pronunciation in parentheses, so mu 8 year old doesn’t have to correct my crazy pronunciations! Keep up the good work!
A month ago, they do a baseball episode in the middle of winter. A couple weeks ago, they encourage viewers to look for a comet that already passed before the episode aired. Now, they do an episode on Dinosaurs. Released the DAY AFTER news breaks about two new species of T Rex being discovered/classified; however it is pre recorded so they don’t even get to address it. Although I’m not sure Bundt Cake would have found it in his research, their timing never ceases to be incredible.
This episode was definitely science heavy. Between the sources of Wikipedia and the Animorphs books, I can’t wait to let my 3 year old daughter listen to this so she can pretty much be an expert by the time she hits kindergarten
I'm really looking forward to the Nateland Thesis on Dinosaurs. The scientific explanations were extremely insightful. Dusty is hilarious and knows about the dragons so I would add him to the research team. 😂
Nate, I feel your pain with the belt notches. When each of my daughters were born I ate alongside my wife and went from my normal 170lbs to almost 200lbs. I always knew I was closing in on 200 because my 34x32 pants got tight and I was on the last notch of my belt. I refused to buy new larger pants and that was my cue to lose weight. Well, after my 2nd daughter After losing the weight I slowly started putting it back on and by Covid I was about 190. Although my job and daily routine wasn’t affected by Covid like others teleworking, I threw all caution to the wind since everyone was gaining weight and found myself breaking down and buying stretchy jeans (you know, because I refused to buy larger than 34x32) and a (gasp!) new belt. Currently I am squeezing my 42” belly into 34” stretchy jeans and on the second loop of my new larger belt. I finally weighed myself when you guys did a few weeks ago got your challenge and I weighed in at 208.4. I’ve never broken 200 before in my life. Guess I’ll be joining you guys on your challenge so I can get back to real jeans and my original belt I wore for years until Covid.
I’m waiting to see you in Redding, ca. I was waiting at the water fountain listening to music and wondering where you stayed. I can’t think of any hotels that are fancy. I guess the Sheridan, but I’d imagine that’s for convenience. I hope they didn’t make you sleep in your bus! Sorry for the lack of options! Love the podcast! Can’t wait to see your live show in a little bit.
Hello Folks! Big baller Bates says “ Marco Polo documented giant sea creatures in his journal” Nate says “ Oh, like in the water”. This is why I listen. Let’s Go Folks! Marco!!!!
Ohhh so all of a sudden pterodactyls are not considered dinosaurs anymore like we were taught as kids. Big surprise these days. 😆🙌🏻😂 Love this chat guys.🔥
Can't wait for all the teachers comments in the coming weeks comment segments. Great episode. Love you all. Sorry no funny names from me, way past my bedtime as it is and I'm only 9 minutes in.
I'm really gonna blow Nate's mind. The Ginkgo Biloba is a prehistoric tree. It is alive and well in our existence on this planet as it was in prehistoric times. Cool fact: They have no pests because the one's that evolved with them to eat them, died off. Also, Tartigrades have survived 5 earth extinctions and they are alive and well with us. I love the waterbears!!! (Tartigrades).
I watched spaghetti westerns with my nanny. So I still enjoy them and brings back memories of my nanny minding me building blanket forts and playing cowboys and Indians. Woo memories ha
The scientific illiteracy in this episode was astounding. That being said, this was by far the funniest episode in a long time. The chemistry between Nate, Aaron, Beefarino, and Dusty was electric. Keep up the good work

Trust it. Always.
I think you mean their chemistry is ‘eclectic’
Dusty, and sometimes Nate, is so ignorant it is hard to listen.
"I don't know about the competitive edge though...I mean have you ever fought a monkey"[-Dusty] I'm crying with laughter
I was listening on Spotify but I had to come to TH-cam to understand the 30 minutes of this episode that was dedicated to a picture that no one described 😂

He is the BEST! He answers you on Instagram himself if you respond to his podcast. Such a down to earth guy.
When I saw Dusty was the guest this week, I said out loud to no one 'let's go folks!' Love this podcast, love Dusty, really enjoyed the last time he was on and so glad to see him back!
We're having a good time
Dusty and dinosaurs…I haven’t even started listening yet but I know we’re having a good time.

The main difference between envy and jealousy is that envy is the emotion of coveting (wanting) what someone else has, while jealousy is the emotion related to fear that something you have will be taken away from you by someone else.
I don’t think that’s what jealousy is

Same on all accounts 🙌🏻
I'd pay Good Money for that.
Aaron's knowledge of Animorfs is incredible. I just remember that it existed.
One of the great parts of this podcast is all about Nate getting hooked on a word. Never change that! Great podcast, enjoy all of you.
The way Nate pronounced Morocco sounded a whole lot like asking for seconds on taco night. “More (t)aco”
😂🤣
Aaron is "murdering" those ads!! Love the enthusiasm!👍
What a sweet Dad and a sweet memory 🙏🏻
..... ou so sweet being so concint.....decent,....lying, ....you them & us all!.....plese carry on!
I didn’t know how much I loved the format of this podcast until I started watching/listening others. I realized you guys responding to The comments at the beginning is one of my favorite parts.
Dusty Slay is my favorite guest, I think about the Alabama episode often! (like every other day)
Loved the callback to Columbus thinking manatees were mermaids!
Aaron’s ad read game is on point! If I were to advertise on Nateland I feel like I may request Aaron do the ad read. Impressive!
Dusty is far and away my favorite guest on Nateland. He fits in with the guys seamlessly and they all seem to "have a good time".
I bet Aaron could have done a full hour on the Animorphs. did anyone else notice how much his face lit up and how much animorph knowledge he had just ready to come out? he really had to reign it in. Job 41 - Leviathan is like a dinosaur / dragon.
I'm glad I listened to this one... "They make it seem like it's some how our fault the dinosaur are gone"
Dusty is a great comedian, and is funny on this show.
I never thought I'd hear a person as confidently ignorant as Nate... and Dusty stepped up like "Hold my trucker hat."
(All love for these guys!)
The tonight Show got me hooked on Dusty years ago, so happy he crushed it on Netflix!
We died laughing at "Unre what? Unresolved". Definitely gonna see Aaron next time he plays Minneapolis.
After Netflix I became a huge fan of both Dusty and Nate. They work well together. Great episode fellas.
Dusty and Nate are two of my favorite comedians, glad to see him back on the podcast!
Throughout these episodes I'm always amazed at how many times I agree with Nate, BUT TODAY, ... I am TEAM DUSTY, ALL THE WAY!
Would love to hear him talk about this
Dusty's laugh makes me smile. Seeing Nate in Orlando!
Dusty was so great on the Stand ups. One of my faves for sure
Dusty’s joke in The Stand-Ups about different types of money has been stuck in my head for weeks….. “I paid good money for that”
My favorite Dusty bit is I Drank Gas One Time
Saw Dinosaurs and Dusty Slay and audibly yelled out "Let's go folks"
Fantastic show guys! Dusty always makes sure we have a good time!
Best episode yet! Nate stuck with it and made jokes about dinosaurs instead of just saying "what are we doing? people are listening" I think Dusty helped keep the conversation comedic. Brings me back to the Animals episode. Keep the obscure topics coming.
best podcast funniest thing I've ever heard needs a multi-annual re listen

I knew as soon as beatbox started that calendar analogy it was going to go right over Nate’s head 😂

I loved those old shows as a kid in the 80s (except for Gunsmoke, THAT is definitely a boring punishment).
Surprise ending!
T-WIST!
Ha!
It made me so happy that nate pronounced the "P" in pterosaur.
Great episode! Dusty is hilarious, and everyone was on fire. Also I actually learned something this episode, which was surprising, to say the least.
I'm team Nate & Dusty! We've been taught fantastical history that no human can testify to, as absolute certainty. But they're called ignorant for having any doubts whatsoever.
Every research lab in the world should have Dusty looking over each scientist's should muttering, "I don't buy it..." Great show guys!
You can really feel Aaron struggling to toe the line between going with the jokes and just wanting to drop some knowledge bombs about the (really basic) science being butchered. I love watching him covering his face every 30 seconds.
I'm waiting for him to storm out when either Dusty or Nate say dinosaurs aren't real!
The Medium Bang Theory proven in just Under An Hour! Noble Piece Prize Guys 🏆
Laughed thorough the whole thing. Awesome! So funny!
Watching Aaron, sit there and trying not to comment about science, while Dusty and Nate doubt about things we actually have on hand... that dinosaurs died a long time ago, is the perfect version of the nateland podcast.

With a spoon you ain't going to get no dinosaurs... I love you Nate.
“I sat on some sugar” what a fantastic subtle line that went totally under the radar.
Sup folks! Been involved since day one. Just love ya.

Im so glad i found your podcast!! Love it Nate!
I woulda found it sooner but my thumbs were cramping up from scrolling.
#LongtimeFan
So thrilled with the reference to Brian Regan's hooked on phonics joke
So refreshing to hear some solid sarcasm thrown at scientific theories spouted as facts. Keep it coming! After all, science is supposed to be asking and challenging those simple questions, right?
Nate: "Are we supposed to be married or not?" 😂😂🤣
THIS EPISODE IS AMAZING.
Sweet Dustys back. Fist Bump!

2. Aaron choosing air conditioning as the greatest invention
3. Brian talking about the invention of vaccines/penicillin, Nate saying its dumb to even talk about, then Brian saying "I'm just trying to keep it on your level."
Huge fan, love the show guys.

I LOVE NATES SMILE!
This episode was one of my favorites in a long time! I laughed my butt off the whole time. Keep up the great podcast!
Hearing 4 comedians talk about theories of evolution makes me believe in creation all the more.
I get that... Hearing 4 scientists try to be comedic might make one think there's no such thing as funny.
@@mattgoodell7015 True, but once those 4 scientists start talking about evolution I'd be laughing hysterically.
Hearing religious folk explain about their creation stories makes me trust the scientific method even more.
So did blood come before the heart, or the heart before blood?
@@cccc13. blood before the heart
Nate’s family is already miles ahead of us in regards to evolution. Who needs to breathe under water when you can have TWO THUMBS!?
🤣🤣🤣

I was laughing at the beginning where Nate was talking about his weight gain, and I was sure Aaron was going to suggest joining a gym
Missed opportunity..nice save!
I love the Animorphs books and I'm so pumped Aaronland is covering the origins of Tobias and being a red-tailed hawk.
This episode was definitely science heavy. Between the sources of Wikipedia and the Animorphs books, I can’t wait to let my 3 year old daughter listen to this so she can pretty much be an expert by the time she hits kindergarten
Dusty is great! He fits the group so well! I always enjoy him being on the show!
I'm really looking forward to the Nateland Thesis on Dinosaurs. The scientific explanations were extremely insightful. Dusty is hilarious and knows about the dragons so I would add him to the research team. 😂
Really great job covering a topic argued about on internet message boards with comedy.
I'll go proofread this now.
GREAT EPISODE!!!!!
Great podcast!!!
Nate asking which c is silent in condescendingly made me do a spit take. As though the word might be pronounced ondescendingly. Keep it up fellas!
😂 what a guest for this topic
Best episode yet
Hello Folks! Big baller Bates says “ Marco Polo documented giant sea creatures in his journal” Nate says “ Oh, like in the water”. This is why I listen. Let’s Go Folks! Marco!!!!
Just bought tickets to see Nate in Charleston, WV.
I wish every scientist had to run their theories by Nate and Dusty. Together those two could get to the bottom of a lot of things.
Ohhh so all of a sudden pterodactyls are not considered dinosaurs anymore like we were taught as kids. Big surprise these days. 😆🙌🏻😂
Love this chat guys.🔥
Can't wait for all the teachers comments in the coming weeks comment segments. Great episode. Love you all. Sorry no funny names from me, way past my bedtime as it is and I'm only 9 minutes in.
We’re having a good time
I'm really gonna blow Nate's mind.
