It was great you had the opportunity to speak out reaching viewers on BBC news. A lot of people are still in total ignorance of CSA within the JW organisation. What they do see is a couple of JW's who appear like decent people go knocking on doors preaching, but have no idea of the extent CSA within the JW organisation. Hopefully your interview will lead to other opportunities for you to speak out more in the future. Well done Lloyd, your voice is making a difference.
How you turned the last question about your personal motives to leave the org into a warning not to be fooled by JW's flowery language and instead be alarmed by their gatekeeping of reports was nothing but genius! Excellent job!
He never left though really. He lives with them in his mind and heart, every minute of every day, never letting go, continually obsessing. That's not leaving. The opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference. He has spent years out of his precious life on a group of people with the right to believe what they like, just as he does. They don't do videos about him and yet he obsessively criticises them, lies about his own identity, and adapts videos and explanations to push his own unhelpful agenda... whatever that really is. There are people being paid to sit there putting out rubbish about certain groups including the JWs. We can assume this guy is either one of them or dangerously stalker-ish over a group he's meant to feel so free from. We all need to get on with life. If we join a group be loyal to it. If we leave then actually leave and don't keep harping on about how you "survived". John Cedars/Lloyd Evans/ needs to find a better way to use his time or else return to the group he can't let go of.

I was so very disappointed when I watched the BBC report on Icsa's investigation on sexual child abuse in religion. I felt they did a shabby job and I felt that they were cosying up to religion. It upset me for the victims. Georgina

You came across as even keeled and objective, despite the disappointing elements of the report. Interviewer seemed objective, didn't interrupt, and gave you time. It was brave to go on with little notice and preparation. It was a big milestone in getting real change and WT will be held responsible for it's mishandlings, even if the timeframe is frustrating. Hi Lloyd, I’m not and never have been a JW. I discovered your channel after falling down a Scientology wormhole. However, the abuses in the JW religion have really hit home given that there are 2 Kingdom Hall’s in the vicinity of where I live. I’m absolutely shocked at the abuses and practices that go on in the name of the JW religion and absolutely agree with you that this is a cult. Keep up the amazing work. Sara, my story is similar! Saw Lloyd in a podcast with Chris Shelton and became fascinated by the JW survivor community. I have learned so much about high control groups
The most laughable thing in that regard is that the 8 meatheads in charge don't seem to have gone through any of that training at all. Some of the worst speakers I've ever heard. Only second to some of those that I've heard at KH meetings in the past that would just put you to sleep in a heartbeat.

My niece, Kathy was sexually abused, my brother was encouraged not to call the police. She was 7 he was elders son 15. My brother was counseled by elders that it would bring reproach, do not report it to police. Kathy was deeply trouble, at 7 she had no knowledge of sex. It was extremeness. Kathy was emotionally damaged, it effected her bad, she began taking pain pills. I talked to her a few week before she over dosed, and died on fentonal, she married a JW, he abused her, she later had a boyfriend that abused her. Her self esteem was destroyed. What did 7 year old do to deserve to be sexually abused?????? Don't tell she was told, don't talk about it. If you do your hurting Jehovah. SHE IS DEAD, her sister who was also abused is in bad shape. Kathy told me she went to elders and asked to help about this effect. They told her "HELP YOUR SELF."

Its taken along time, before mobile phones and the internet, the late Doug Harris of Reachout was reporting this. I knew Doug well we spoke often, the BBC even phoned me to see if I could help them that was 30 years ago but the WT knew how to dampen things down and keep it under wraps, Good to se it coming back into the news again.

This is insanely great progress in activism! I'm not even from Britain and I know so many JWs(and people in general) who love to watch and listen to the BBC, including my own parents. I know after splane's talk they'll probably just write it off as lies, but I'm confident that it'll help wake up a decent amount of JWs, and spread awareness to nonJWs. This is amazing
Just happened to see your BBC interview when it was actually taking place and was so pleased to see you telling the interviewer how ICSA had fallen short in their findings. I do hope that others in the main media will take up this subject and expose what is actually going on among the Jehovah's Witnesses. You mentioned that this was your hope too. Thank you LLoyd for the great work you're doing in waking Witnesses up. Having been a witness for over twenty years and wasted so much of my time, energy and money in promoting their false beliefs I can only hope that as an organisation they won't be around much longer.
Unfortunately, the people who need to see this won't as they've been told to literally turn off their TV if their own religion gets mentioned in the news. Now it's up to the bible studies, the co-workers, and family members to express their concern. Despite WT encouraging bible studies to avoid negative reports, I think most of them haven't been indoctrinated enough to kill their curiosity. Great job on the interviews, Lloyd. You were professional and dignified and even if IICSA was disappointing the word is getting out. I had thought just a few months ago that while the CSA problem existed, it was overblown by apostates and the media. That changed recently. One of the motivating factors in my starting to speak out (albeit anonymously) was finding out that CSA had happened in my small hall multiple times, and most likely every hall I had been in. It is a bigger problem than most people think. The small changes the org has made are not enough, and kids are still not safe, and victims have not gotten justice.

As part of another organisation being assessed in this section of IICSA, I have been horrified with what I have learned from your videos and following up over the past month or so. Over years we have had past cases reviews within our org, safeguarding training and key officers appointed to make sure it happens and is refreshed, dbs checks etc all these are so embedded now that to hear WT so resistent, in 2021 is shocking. Yes we have all been guilty of failures in the past and we aren't perfect now, but where it is acknowledged and all steps to raise awareness and skills and processes at least we are trying to do better now.

You came across as even keeled and objective, despite the disappointing elements of the report. Interviewer seemed objective, didn't interrupt, and gave you time. It was brave to go on with little notice and preparation. It was a big milestone in getting real change and WT will be held responsible for it's mishandlings, even if the timeframe is frustrating. I'm glad you didn't have more time to read the report if you'd of been more upset. We all need to do our part to come across as even tempered, and you did that. Well done!

However, the abuses in the JW religion have really hit home given that there are 2 Kingdom Hall’s in the vicinity of where I live. My niece, Kathy was sexually abused, my brother was encouraged not to call the police. She was 7 he was elders son 15. My brother was counseled by elders that it would bring reproach, do not report it to police. Kathy was deeply trouble, at 7 she had no knowledge of sex. It was extremeness. Kathy was emotionally damaged, it effected her bad, she began taking pain pills. I talked to her a few week before she over dosed, and died on fentonal, she married a JW, he abused her, she later had a boyfriend that abused her. Her self esteem was destroyed. What did 7 year old do to deserve to be sexually abused?????? Don't tell she was told, don't talk about it. If you do your hurting Jehovah. SHE IS DEAD, her sister who was also abused is in bad shape. Kathy told me she went to elders and asked to help about this effect. They told her "HELP YOUR SELF."

This is insanely great progress in activism! I'm not even from Britain and I know so many JWs(and people in general) who love to watch and listen to the BBC, including my own parents. I know after splane's talk they'll probably just write it off as lies, but I'm confident that it'll help wake up a decent amount of JWs, and spread awareness to nonJWs. This is amazing
Just happened to see your BBC interview when it was actually taking place and was so pleased to see you telling the interviewer how ICSA had fallen short in their findings. I do hope that others in the main media will take up this subject and expose what is actually going on among the Jehovah's Witnesses. You mentioned that this was your hope too. Thank you LLoyd for the great work you're doing in waking Witnesses up. Having been a witness for over twenty years and wasted so much of my time, energy and money in promoting their false beliefs I can only hope that as an organisation they won't be around much longer.
Unfortunately, the people who need to see this won't as they've been told to literally turn off their TV if their own religion gets mentioned in the news. Now it's up to the bible studies, the co-workers, and family members to express their concern. Despite WT encouraging bible studies to avoid negative reports, I think most of them haven't been indoctrinated enough to kill their curiosity. Great job on the interviews, Lloyd. You were professional and dignified and even if IICSA was disappointing the word is getting out. I had thought just a few months ago that while the CSA problem existed, it was overblown by apostates and the media. That changed recently. One of the motivating factors in my starting to speak out (albeit anonymously) was finding out that CSA had happened in my small hall multiple times, and most likely every hall I had been in. It is a bigger problem than most people think. The small changes the org has made are not enough, and kids are still not safe, and victims have not gotten justice.

Great interview, I think journalists are trained to get you to say things you don’t want to, you did very well.
As part of another organisation being assessed in this section of IICSA, I have been horrified with what I have learned from your videos and following up over the past month or so. Over years we have had past cases reviews within our org, safeguarding training and key officers appointed to make sure it happens and is refreshed, dbs checks etc all these are so embedded now that to hear WT so resistent, in 2021 is shocking. Yes we have all been guilty of failures in the past and we aren't perfect now, but where it is acknowledged and all steps to raise awareness and skills and processes at least we are trying to do better now.
