What about including Hooded Blightfang? A 1/4 Snake with: "Deadthtouch// Whenever a cxreature you control with deathtouch attacs, each opponent loses 1 life and you gain 1 life. // Whenever a creature you control sith deadthtouch deals damage to a planeswalker, destroy that planeswalker"
Arachnogenesis desperately needs a reprint.

I love that you decided to do Shelob. If you have a chance I’d be interested in seeing your take on The Watcher in the Water. You’re the only content creator I’ve seen whose even mentioned the card, let alone acknowledge it’s potential.
@@davestier6247 I made this comment over 2 weeks ago, and at the time the statement was true. I’m sure quite a few content creators have talked about The Watcher since then.
I’ve been wanting to make a spider tribal deck for a while im glad I waited for this commander it looks fun!
Built a Shelob deck for my Fiancé for Christmas this year to introduce them further into the world of MTG. So happy to see this vid to know I was heading in the right direction. Super helpful!!! Also kicking myself knowing how much my Jeweled Lotus' are worth today since I last paused playing the game. Still though, their not for sell. Thanks for the awesome channel.
I woukd like to also have everyone keep in mind Shelob will make the food of your own creature add devoted Druid and a way to give flying by equipment and now you have infinite green mana just some other options to use Shelob’s ability. assault formation is a good include into any spider deck allowing your spider to use toughness to deal combat damage
Why would the food token need flying?
It's not a creature, it can have millions of -1/-1 counters on it.
The only thing you need to do is ping one damage to it or have the druid fight one of your own spiders and you have infinite mana already.
@@rey_nemaattori before it becomes the food ping it as the creature with spitting or silk lash spider it’s been the easiest way I’ve found for your own spiders to kill your own creatures
but bro, its a food token AND a copy of the creature so it will die lol

On top of Shelob being a good commander to swap out my Ishkanah in my Spider Tribal deck, I love how she also manages to replace my Archetype of Finality by giving my spiders deathtouch, but now with extras!
LOTR is one of my all time fav franchises & when I heard my fav character Shelob was going to be in the set I decided it was time for me to get into MTG. Can't wait to build a deck off her & really see the range she'll have
Have 8 nazguls, all witch kings, shelob. I'm like 12 cards away from collecting all cards in the base set.
Probably this is one of the most underrated budget deck i ever seen. Really a budget/performance beast, i got all the cards for 20 dollars and i'm having great fun
I started playing MTG back in 2012, spiders are what got me into it. Back then there wasn't much but I remember buying a lot on ebay that came with a playset of at least 10 different spiders (these were my first cards/deck). I've always played spiders in some way shape or form ever since (knowing they weren't good) and when Ishkanah came out I was so happy to have a legendary spider. Comboing her with Ashnod's Altar and Nim Deathmantle to wipe the table with her A.A. has to be the most satisfying win for me. I was so upset with Thantis being non-spider centered and Arasta being monogreen, then another Ishkanah was mad only to be exclusive on MTG Arena...smh (Was also hoping Lolth was going to be a creature but 🤷♂). I started settling for insects since they've been getting love lately but now we finally have a good spider commander that actually has a fun thematic playstyle. I already have most of everything I needed to make her and bought some other stuff to go in. Zask, Skittering Swarmlord will have to wait now lol

I built a deck with basically all of these tactics on Archdekt when I first found out this card, thanks to this video I found some more cards to improve the strategy lol
I'm still pretty new to magic and was looking into starting a spider tribal deck, but non of the commanders available really spoke to me. The deck also ended up being way more expensive than I hoped for it to be. I ways able all the cards for only 35 bucks! I'm really looking forward to it! Thanks fir the video

I’m really excited for Spider payoffs, but this Commander also makes me interested in FOOD! Eldraine Limited staples like Savvy Hunter, Trail of Crumbs, Gilded Goose and Feasting Troll King are all here to bolster the usefulness of our helpless “Food” prey!
Don't forget we are coming back to eldraine soon! Also you can use weird tactics to make non creatures into food.
I’m most excited about pinging my own Devoted Druid or Wall of Roots with a Viridian Bow or some garbage to make it a Food and give myself infinite green mana
@@emilysmith2965 If you are mostly interested in pinging your own things, may i suggest a look at Myrkul! being 1 extra mana, this guy makes your own dying things into sturdy enchantments, gives you another color to work with and can still steal some of your opponents things through cards like athreos, the new gisa or thieving amalgam!

Lolth, spider queen is a 5 mana black planeswalker would def be a reasonable upgrade. A fun card I enjoy playing in any aristocrats deck but would be really good here with the spider synergy and Well worth the $5 I think it’s now dropped down too…
Did not need another commander deck to build but if I crack her might not be able to resist…. Haha

if u want a good improve, add ishkana, grafwidow
I would add Deadly Dispute or any of the Village Rite effects that let you sac artifacts rather than pure Village Rites since the food tokens you create from Shelob are all artifacts that you may want to sac instead of a creature that you need.

I've been playing spider tribal with Ishkanah for a while now, and told myself "imma wait for arachnogenesis to come down in price someday" cause 30$ seemed like alot. SInce this was announced, arachnogenesis has gone up to like 60$ ☠️💀💀☠️☠️💀
It's a good thing that I still have my copy lol Literally a WTF moment when I checked back at the current value for it.

I would love if the set had a bit more cards to support extra commanders. I would really like to make a group with commander decks having cards only from the set to be in the theme of playing lord of the rings.

This shelob really was a power house in my pre release deck. I'm gonna score a foil version of it for later for spider tribal.

Weird not to see thornbite staff mentioned on this. The same as the bow mentioned but also u taps the creature when something dies turns any deathtouch in to a board wipe

Altar of baal and monster manual are the two best G/B cards in my opinion for creature/tokens/reanimator decks

So are the tokens you make creatures, foods or both? Normally it'd say "in addition to its other types". Thematically I understand why it makes food artifacts but it'd be nice to be able to attack with the tokens. Really nice with archanogenesis
It says "it loses all other types" so it only is an Artifact Food token

Most of the LOtR Cards are just busted as fuck, but thats how WotC just is these days. GEtting people to buy new cards has priority over keeping some illusion of balance
