Honestly I'm not even sure if the opponent simply missed the line or tried to drag the game out because they thought themselfes in an unlosable position. The first one MAYBE, but the turn after when they cast Nissa for pherexyian mana HAD to be some sort of BM.
If I found Luka playing on arena I would play for fun not for win. Just enjoy the experience. That would explain the "misswins". Which I don't really understand is why to concede.
First opponent was an example of what happens when you try to 'win more' instead of just going for lethal when you have the chance. Even if you're far ahead, you never know what your opponent can do next.
Green has gotten impossibly giant stuff without downside for ages. Molimo is a 23-year old card that's almost always gonna be at least a 7/7 trample for 7. 🤷♂️
Opponents had some hilarious misplays this video! Totally understandable ones (game 1 was a little more iffy), but still quite funny! Great stuff as always LVD!
That first game was amazing! I loved how the advantage kept going back and forth between the two of you. It really made for an exciting game! Spinning Wheel Kick works so well with Shelob, it's crazy!
To be fair, if our opponent would have correctly spotted lethal with nissa, then we punted as well..by not playing to our outs.. We had takenuma in hand. We are suppose to channel hoping to find a castable creature to draw with great henge, to find our discard or board wipe.. Btw just discovered this channel. Big fan! Watching all your brawl videos. Very entertaining. Unique deck builds with very good play and commentation
Some really epic games in there! Btw, did you consider including something like Karn Great Creator to turn the stolen food tokens back into creatures? Not sure if there would be better options for that though.
If I was playing against one of the best mtg content creators around, I'd just show my finisher, take the whole experience as a win and just let them win the game anyway. It's not like a tournament with money reward on the line after all, I'd just enjoy the ride a bit more and check out their cool brew while flexing with my own. So yeah, this might be the case in the first game =) Thanks for all the amazing content Luca, don't ever stop providing great value whatever you do! =)
Karn will animate the Artifact - Food tokens (with all the creature text) into an Artifact Creature - Food tokens. Since the power and toughness of the Karn animations are based on mana value of the creature that the token copied, the size of the creature will be an x/x regardless of how big or small the creature was before it got turned into food.
You should do a Nazgul-bomb deck xD Ancient Brass Dragon/Last march of the Ents/Haunting Voyage! Solely for the fact that getting 9 Nazguls on the battlefield at the same time would be AWESOME! :D And if anyone can do it it's you xD Or Brewers Kitchen :3
First opponent clearly just took an online list for a google search of “most powerful brawl decks” because dude had ZERO clue what his cards do or why they’re in the deck.
Why no Faceless Haven? I would think the fact that it's a snow land, and can become a spider, would outweigh the fact that it only makes colorless mana.
Potentially worth including, same with Mutavault. Don't usually find myself activating creature lands in Brawl, but they would've helped on a few occasions in the games I played.
Have you considered Karn, Great Creator? If your opponent plays an artifact, you can animate it to make it fight Shelob/a spider, or you can animate your Food copies. Since they're copies, they have mana costs for Karn to check. Also Maskwood Nexus, to turn all your non-spiders into spiders to gain the benefit of Shelob.
I gotta admit: its kind of sad to see that a deck that is already built around fight spells needs an additional 18 pieces of removal to just function in this environment... but i guess its gonna stay that way as long as it stays a 1v1 format... nontheless, nice deck lvd, looks fun to play with
@@LegenVD he/she is your last opponent. I thought the oooops, good game at the beginning was just being a scumbag, but it seems it was a reaction to being mana screwed.
Looking forward to my Shelob doing a spinning wheel kick on Rainbow Dash, Abaddon, Rick Grimes and soon Doctor Who. Magic as Richard Garfield intended provides a lot of value.
I know magic can sometimes be hard and complicated, but c'mon, the first opponent had the easiest way to achieve lethal, watching this match made my blood boil and I wasn't even involved!
First opponent was a complete idiot. They wanted to try and humiliate you by making a huge board before they went for kill but just ended up humiliating themself. 100% deserved.
When I told you that your choice of Commanders was boring you replied that they are chosen by Patreons. But now I find the deck building is also boring. There's 4 Spiders in the whole deck and realistically 8 fight spells, the rest is just generic good stuff Golgari. How is this deck any different from any other random Golgari Brawl deck? Is the deck building also to blame on Patreons?
Honestly bro if you find it boring don’t watch it. No one ever really complains about his casual build’s because that’s what they are, casual. He builds them too win obviously so yeah he’s gonna play staples bc wins=more viewers.
Like I explained in the video there are many ways to build around Shelob. Fight spells are still a unique and synergistic way to build around this commander. Feel free to build a deck with all spiders, although your mileage may vary. There just aren't many great spider options on Arena. It goes without saying that two Golgari singleton decks are going to have quite a bit of overlap regardless of commander.
The image of shelob spinning wheel kicking a bunch of enemies at once is a terrifying one
I imagine she just takes off like a helicopter and flies at the enemy.
Holy shit I never thought I'd find a use for that card, that makes too much sense in this deck :00

I can't believe the first opponent didn't just cast NIssa and attack for the win, some times people miss the forest for the trees
gotta love the pun :)
With the number of how many mana they sink into Awaken the Woods, I doubt they don't know the Nissa-landdruid interaction.
Amazing pun(t)
Yeah, opponent missed leafal several times...
Honestly I'm not even sure if the opponent simply missed the line or tried to drag the game out because they thought themselfes in an unlosable position. The first one MAYBE, but the turn after when they cast Nissa for pherexyian mana HAD to be some sort of BM.
I love how legend sounds disappointed that his opponent kept missing lethal.
Yeah lol what is that guy doing, specially playing Nissa for 3
I think even LVD wanted to see how much damage he would have taken. That was a LOT of Forests.
If I found Luka playing on arena I would play for fun not for win. Just enjoy the experience. That would explain the "misswins". Which I don't really understand is why to concede.

I have a dude in my playgroup that regularly perform stunts like this (creating infinite 1/1 tokens for example) only to die to rakdos charm lol
Its my first time criticizing something in a LVD video, but cmon, that spinning kick should have been for 8 😔🕷🕸
From a flavor perspective the spider is using 4 legs to stand on while the other 4 can perform the kick!
Also don't think you had another 8 mana, so...
@@439801RS Nah, he had more 15 mana. But he is right, it's a spinning kick not a dive kick, so half of the legs is fair
tecnically spinning need a single point of contact with the ground, so 7 was the perfect number :')
@@gianmariacapuzzo2383 Let's be real, Shelob ain't standing on one leg 😂
I really love your fitting assesment that Black Market Connections is basically just a spider that draws cards.
it was so painful watching the opponent throw so hard in game 1
he thought, he can win even without ultimate but that move make him lose. xD

Could always play fewer, but since this deck is aiming for the late game to set up its synergies it's good to include enough controlling elements.
