I have an extreme level of sensitivity. There is no off switch. I feel EXHAUSTED after being around a large group of people. It feels like possession at times, like my body is filled with another person's emotions and tiredness. The question is HOW?
I really do NOT want this over the top sensitivity while having to live in a city.
It sucks. Most of my life has been spent in depression and anxiety.

You have a very correct observation. It does feel like possession, because it is a type of possession.
I'm at times talking about it in my work and why that is. Will write more in my book about this soon (you can read for free) : gosiaporaj.com/the-nature-of-sensitivity . Take care

This disconnection with body is intermitent for me. Sometimes, I can not find a way to be with projects and people. Some other times, I feel so powerfull to be fully present and leader of situations. Check the ''omnivert'' type of people for more details.

Mindfulness as body scan, and being close to nature can reduce both info overload and being in an over stimulated state. Or serk your own path by trying nre creative outlets, for me the only thing that creates a feeling of FLOW being in a state where you feel free from time and space, is reading in silience and solitude. That alone refill my energy capacity or "battery". I am no victim no more, but has learned more of using what Jung called the shadow side for some positive outcome. Anger notivates me to change as well as creating boundaries when someone don't respect my personal values. Thats a close as a doorslam I can reactively still do. And I study my personality wit all strengths, weaknesses, vulnerabilities, needs, further path to grow, traits, values and so much more ending up wiyh over 200 pages still. So these days I just try to summaries and compartementalize what is most important by priority to further growth, development or improvement. Some wise greek philosopher said way back "Know Thyself", and that has become my mantra. How can I understand others or the world in general if I dont have a clue of who I really am? Just my 2 cents, if it can help one it is well worth it. Hugs all empaths
