    Venmo Tip Jar @AndrewDIY
Three types of leaks are typical. The large rubber seal around the base, the blade shaft gaskets, or the blade assembly.
Hopefully this video will be helpful in your ability to fix your magic bullet blender and getting back to making your green smoothies or whatever in no time!

Whew, I thought I was missing a part when I reassembled the blade assembly after extensive (hand wash) cleaning on my mini bullet as it leaked when I went to use it. Turns out I just didn't tighten it enough, did it by hand the first time, used pliers after watching this. Thanks! No more leak!

Andrew, you inspired me to fix my Magic Bullet!
The blade in my 5 year old unit was wobbling quite a bit and as a result was making quite a racket when I used to use it.
I took it apart and took the small white nylon O ring on which the blade sits to my local ACE hardware store and found a replacement for it. I picked one up that was about an eighth of an inch thick because that's how much my old washer had worn out.
Once I replaced, it - voila, it sounded normal again! Total cost $0.27!!!

Thanks, Andrew for your comment I also had the same problem with my Magic Bullet....so off to Ace I went, and with my 27-cent rubber washer my blender no longer wobbles....but now I needed to replace the washer gasket that the food container sets on.....so I took out the washer heated up a little water (NOT BOILING ) in the microwave dropped the washer in the water for about 30 seconds let it cool, it expanded and it works just fine for me. ( ps. do not put your hand in the hot water!)

The motor underneath lets off a slight smell and it's a little loud th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCKuMxLnvr6fJd_M4SE-n7trcGj3zEUHq but considering it's size and how hard it works to do the job, it's sort of expected. I assume the smell will go away over time. Overall, I love this cute little blender. The extra cups and lids are great too!

If the gaskets contacting the plastic cups are worn out then Andrew DIY is correct but unfortunately his fix to replace the flat nylon washers is not going to cure the problem since they are only there as friction devices and not as sealers between the shaft and the brass bushing (which is what I have in my Magic Bullet, I believe the NutriBullet has ball bearings instead). The only guy that I found to be correct is David Amblin below so when I took my blades apart I just replaced the 6x10 mm red silicone or rubber O ring above the brass bushing, lubricated it with a tiny dab of vaseline and voila! problem was fixed, So stop trying to find the flat washers, but if you want them they are available at Lowe's as Hillman nylon Std (SAE) 1/2"OD x 1/4" ID x 1mm thick. Good luck folks, but Magic Bullet stopped being my favorite because of this persisting issue.

Seems like once it leaks, the bearing will rust. After watching your video, I took my blade shaft off. The only thing I had on hand were some O-rings and a garden hose rubber washer. I cleaned the rust, put those O-rings and rubber washer on and so far its working. Not sure if my MacGyver way is recommended but will see what happens. Thanks for sharing your video. Aloha

Andrew, I'm so glad I found your video! Now I can take care of those leaks, but then I will need to find a way to clean the base where the leaks have accumulated when I couldn't get it all out. Do you have a tutorial for that, or can you do one? I feel strongly that I MUST take it apart but I'm afraid to without instruction. Thanks!

Hi Andrew - great video, but, on inspection of my 3 month old unit that has now started leaking through the cutter shaft, I believe there is an inherent design fault with the cutter base.
If you hold the blades and pull them up and down, there is about 1 to 2 mm of vertical play on the shaft, despite the inclusion of a short length of 8 mm silicon tubing at the top of the shaft, just under the blades.
The main shaft seal is a two ridged rubber seal, inside the bearing assembly, but this is assembled at the factory without any lubricant, so wears quickly. A smear of Vaseline petroleum jelly will solve that issue.
The second point is that the silicone tube, (ID 8 mm OD 12 mm) is too short, permitting the vertical play and negating the secondary seal made by the white nylon washer between that and the bearing housing.
Simply buy a short length of that size tubing, cut and fit a slightly longer piece to remove the vertical play and exert pressure on the nylon washer and the leak problem goes away.
The play can also be removed by adding a rubber 'O' ring directly beneath the blades.
Hope this helps a few owners of this excellent machine.

I've been having mine for over a year and didn't really use it much during pandemic. I noticed last time Juice was leaking from underneath the base. I figured too much pressure was forced when applying ice. Today I blended just enough without too full. I noticed when I rinsed it a bunch of rust was flowing out and I think some of it made it into my smoothie while blending..😅 oh man tasted very awkward.

    Hi Andrew
The ads say rubber base gasket however are these for around the blade shaft or around the outside edge of the base? Hard to tell as there is nothing to compare them to. If I may make a suggestion, put the blade shaft in the picture with he gaskets.

  • @Uch123456
    @Uch123456 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

If your blender is leaking underneath then you'll need to relubricate the main shaft seal. The main shaft seal is black and rubber and is located inside the hole where the blade shaft resides and will become visible once you remove the blade shaft. Rebricate the seal and you should be go to go.
If you want to go above and beyond you can remove the seal, which will require a pick. Clean up the area, apply some petroleum jelly or food safe silicone paste, reinstall and you should be good to go.
The high temperatures of the dishwaher will probably wash away the lubricant so I now wash the blade base by hand.
