    Thank you for a fantastic, easy to follow guide. The only difference is that I used food grade silicon grease on everything, washers, seals, the lot! Tested and working a treat 👍👍👍

    We had a nutribullet that leaked but luckily managed to find another washer, but using silicon to pack an old one out is a great idea. When we cannot find a suitable washer for other items, I’ve resorted to padding out with rubber bands much to my husband’s amusement, but adding silicon is a much easier method so thanks. 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

      My wife was all set to throw the blender away as it just leaked so much. I would rather have a go at fixing as it’s only my time I’m wasting if it doesn’t work. To save a £100 on a new one by adding silicone I’m happy.
      Maybe they just aren’t designed to last that long. The idea of using rubber bands is an interesting one😂

    Awesome - thanks mate! Got a new blade part that started leaking after a few month's use. Will be doing this! Well done going to the trouble of recording the video, even though you weren't 100% sure how to do it, or if it would work! Top stuff

      I always think what’s the worst that can happen as the product is already broken. But a little time and effort to save some decent money makes sense to me.
      Well done on getting only the parts you need to save buying a whole new unit.

    For me it worked just disassembling it and cleaning all the washers and rubber gasket. I wanted to try that first since all purpose silicone isn't food grade. I know this isn't on the "food side" of the blender but still didn't want the chance of it leaking through the ball bearing.

    • @diyhomeandgardening
      @diyhomeandgardening ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and the message. Glad that a quick clean worked on yours. The main gasket should be sealed and as you say the food is sealed in a separate unit.
      Good luck with your clean and fix and enjoy the smoothies.

    This would hopefully prevent water to get into bearings camera while rinsing the blades. I think, though, moisture and liquids get into the bearings camera from the upper side, meaning from the mixed ingridients as the sealing there is not that tight. If this is true, silicone would just keep the liquids inside the bearings.
    A year has passed, could you please share if the silicone worked long term?

    • @diyhomeandgardening
      @diyhomeandgardening 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks for the message.
      You shouldn’t have any liquid getting from the main compartment into the bearings as that will cause metal fatigue.
      The silicone worked fine but we ended up getting a new blender at the start of this year after the motor packed up!
      Just not built to last with constant use!
      If you don’t want to use silicone then you can buy replacement bearing units and washers, but that’s not a diy fix.
      All the best with your bullet.

      Hi. Thanks for the message.
      Yes the NUTRiBULLET works fine and is used every day, each morning for smoothies. We’ve probably had the unit about 6 years and this was the first time of having any problems. They are not the cheapest machine available but for us it has been well worth the money.
      Hope this helps you. All the best

      The manual states blades need replacement every 6 months. Mostly due to a cheap bearing in the center and poor design resulting in a lot of gross food build up in all the cracks and crevices. I would buy a better brand now if I could. It's Worth the extra $50 to buy a better blender

    • @diyhomeandgardening
      @diyhomeandgardening ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess it depends how frequently you use a blender as to how much you want to spend on one.
      If you factor in the replacement blade costs then it may be better to get a countertop blender.
      U.K. to USA specifications and powers differ so probably best to check some product reviews before you make any decision.
      All the best 🍉🍊

    It is worth replacing the actual bearing, which is really cheap and it will reduce the noise alot. Bearing is only $4

    • @diyhomeandgardening
      @diyhomeandgardening ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi and thanks for your message.
      If the bearing is that cheap where you are then it probably is worth doing if your machine is noisy.
      I think there are 2 sets of bearings in the machine so double check before you place your order.
      It definitely makes more sense to replace odd parts than a whole machine.
