    As someone who has owned an IS for the better part of 2 years, you hit the nails right on the head my friend. L-Tuned stuff is arguably more rare than the TRD equivalent, namely the front bumper due to far lower production numbers over here. Adding onto the list of potential problems on these cars are oil leaks, namely the cam seals and the vvti gear o-ring. My cam seals are a bit leaky but i'll address it soon lol. The vvti gear o-ring can be replaced or just getting a new vvti gear - either or seems to work for most. Great video, this is definitely one of the most informative videos on the IS300s I've seen on youtube

      Thanks bro! I really put a lot of time into it. Yeah i was thinking of putting that in there but i thought it was too basic of a tip since you should look for oil leaks on every car. But your right I should have added it.

    I bought my old one for 6k in 2020 but now the cheapest one I can find is 14k 😂😅 They've more than doubled in price in some areas because people finally figured out they're just a better supra.

    This guide is useless for the simple fact that it didn't cover the massive issue of rocker panel rust.
    Not everyone lives in Texas and salt and water WILL eat the rocker panels and quarter panels over time.
    My IS300 is a slicktop from 2004 with a factory LSD, has 128k miles on it, and have been most of its life in Sweden. It needs rust repairs bad. Luckily you can get premade rocker panels for cheap on eBay for example.
    If you're looking for one of these, check for rust!

    • @hakosan86
      @hakosan86  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was making this guide for people with common sense. You should check for rust on any car near the rocker panels. These are specific things to look for.

    • @NegerKim
      @NegerKim 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hakosan86 That's a weird ass comment considering the fact that you mentioned the sticky dashes, which is plain obvious. Oh, and the rocker panel issues are particulary bad on the IS, rust is something that people in fact do miss all the time.
      Oh, and indirectly calling your viewers stupid, that's just weirdchamp.
      I actually like a lot of your content, but come on.

    • @hakosan86
      @hakosan86  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sticky dash is a problem that is specific to is300’s made from 2002-2005 and some other toyota cars made around the same time. Ive got 4 other cars that are older that doesn’t have a sticky dash. So thats a specific problem. On almost every car in existence the rocker panels will rust. So thats a common issue with buying an older car. I’m saying my viewers have common sense so they would already know to check for rust, just like they know to check the oil and maintenance on the car they are looking at.
