    Ethan, excellent video once again, can you put pin swap in the comments section, “the one that worked for you preferably” as I think this is the most difficult issue, adapter link to please. Looks awesome 👍

    • @carcreationsyt
      @carcreationsyt  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hello thanks, Yeah for sure! The email you can contact for the adapter is liaojack11@gmail.com. For the wire swap, you want to swap the pins 10 and 12 on the plug connector A258*5B. Then use the extenders in the kit to swap the pin 32 on plug connector A258*2B and the pin 20 on plug connector A258*5B. Hope that helps!

      @@carcreationsyt you inspired me to finally getting my lights fitted and coded at a BMW specialist 👍
      But it didn’t stop me messing thing up totally, I’d removed the footwell’s plastic cover before the drive to the garage to save a little time, so once everything was done returned home very happy, it was only the next morning I decided to refit the cover in the footwell that I’ve snagged a wire on the white grommet that holds the cover in place 🤦
      Car won’t start, 7 error codes 😡 hopefully the coding guy will do a home visit at some point, I’m so annoyed with myself 😡
      Keep up the good work, hope your having better success with your Damage Reparable project 👍

      @@johnblenkhorn8272 Gosh, I wouldn´t have known how delicate the wiring and that area is. I was looking to do this all on my own (encouraged by the fact that I have retrofitted head unit, infotainment screen and digital cluster in my Countryman 2020). So, now I am looking to do something to the exterior... I read the directions in the MINI guide and didn't look like rocket science, but I think: 1. The adapter shown here for the Clubman relieves a bunch of the wiring work 2. If u are going to do this on ur own, u need to be really careful and patient.

      No worries!
      We were mainly highlighting the main steps and issues.
      If you want exact wire diagrams and coding steps those depend on the exact wire harness you get for it.
      Usually they send a document with it and have those steps in it.

    I am going to try your set-up. What worries me is that I've quickly connected the 4 connectors in the doors to my lamps, with the replacement cable from ebay. There was no light in my union jack tail lights. I didn't replace the wires yet for that set-up. Now I am trying to swap the cables at the floor but it's not as easy as I thought it would be. Is there a trick to get the connector separated from the big box? I can't see which wires go in pin 10 and 12....?

    • @carcreationsyt
      @carcreationsyt  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s definitely not easy. I thought nothing was working for a while then realized it was day time and my lights were automatically off, so had to change the switch to make the headlights stay on and boom it worked.
      For the bdc, pull the connector apart at the corners and then slide out the rails that are inside it.

    • @frankignoul1440
      @frankignoul1440 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@carcreationsyt thanks so much for the tip. Pulling the connector did work out and I was able to swap and repin as per your comment above. I also did order the adapter but for me it was not connected properly. Not sure if it was a combination of EU car, EU order tail lights and a US ordered adapter. But after repinning the adapter (with some luck) everything is working now. I am so happy with the result. Again many thanks for the video, it convinced me to try it myself and saved me quite some money!

    This is a big job with having to mess around with the wiring. Most of the Union Jack replacement lights available in the U.K. are plug & play. I remember my friend doing his Mini Roadster lights. Idk 🤷🏼‍♀️ maybe it's a Clubman thing? I'd like to get some replacements for my R52 as it has Union Jack's all over it so it's only fair it gets the lights too.

      Hi Melissa... I'm in the same page and no, It is NOT plug and play for the OEM Mini Union Jack taillights. it requires wiring and coding... You can buy the kit from MINI and then u will realize u are lacking of more pieces (adapters, extenders). I was going to start on my own (seemed easy), then I read the guide throughly and I decided to stop and contacted my local MINI dealer. They have the retrofit kit available but they just realized they still need to import "a couple parts" which will take like a month or so... Now, there is a not OEM alternative (check Alibaba and recently in Amazon) - that looks like "plug and play" but they won't work (sequence wise and operational wise) as the authentic. Let me know if u need the MINI installation guide.

For the taillights I am concerned about the wiring going from the BDC to the lights. It might be easy but the pins and all that seems delicate (we can learn from ur mistakes - i do appreciate you showing us where to be careful), but it won’t completely prevent us to do something silly… now I only have 1 car so I really need it to work! thanks!!!
