From Minnesota to San Mateo at 6yrs old,
Im now 64. Always lived on east side of Norfolk st, went to Parkside, Bayside middle, and Hillsdale High, class of 78. I could not even think straight living down there, the price of real estate, hell no, traffic trying to get to a Giants game, no thank you, the people....Yikes man...but excellent place to grow up back in the day, but no fun to visit, has changed so much, why am I here, missing me some San Mateo. Peace, Love ...Joe Pye here!!

this is such great insight into the area. I just couldn't take the plunge and pay so much for such a small house. A few hundred a year makes me seem poor in that area! haha

It is a toilet city in a toilet state. Lived there most of my life and built many of those buildings you go in and even the new Bay Bridge. Bought a house in Texas and never looking back.
