I'll be taking on the Yorkshire coast, going on an emotional roller coaster and sleeping in a graveyard amongst other things. Thanks for watching mate. Also big up Neil and everyone in the fire service for the tireless and heroic work they do 🫡

      Come on Haze I think it’s time for you to to the best and toughest walk in UK the South west coastal walk, 630 miles starting in Minehead Somerset, into North Devon, I believe the toughest part, onto Cornwall around lands end back into south Devon meet me for a drink in Torbay onto Dorset and the finish line. Now that’s a walk. Would make a brilliant multi part series.

    You and a few other TH-camrs have inspired me, at the ripe old age of 66, to take up wild camping. Did my first last night (bivvy) and really enjoyed it, apart from lugging the cheap, overfilled (11.5kg) rucksack! Good to listen to the owls and barking deer (muntjac??) though.
    Great series, Hazey, and I always look forward to the next instalment.

    "How do"! That made me laugh. I've had the same as I've met others and attempted to greet them and its gone wrong. It's made worse if you live in different areas when general greetings differ from what you might have used years previously and becomes a combination of all of them.🤣

  • @StreetsOfRage2

    25:25 it's very common, it's called "the call of the void" or " l'appel du vide" - the overwhelming urge to do something incredibly self destructive ... Like diving out of a moving car, jumping off a cliff, throwing your phone into a river etc.
    Bizarre but extremely fascinating. Look it up. 👍

    • @EcoCurious
      @EcoCurious 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was about to comment this 😅 I've heard it evolved as your brain's way of sort of checking in with yourself, sort of like 'I could jump, but I won't, so it's alright'

    Another lovely wander along the way with you Haze, Thank you 🙏 I’m also glad it’s not just me who get’s that overwhelming urge to jump off edges, not in a suicidal way. We crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and all I wanted to do was climb over the barrier and fall into the sea……just because…..
    I live on Dartmoor so those wild fires were terrible to see as we also get them in the summer and mainly where people have been careless. Thoughtless & unnecessary, especially dangerous with peat and gorse as you say it can smoulder underground for weeks. Wise words of “just don’t bother with fire”. Look forward to next epi!

    I know that feeling when you are high up with a drop and feel like you are being pulled to the edge. Near me in Tenerife there are somelong abandoned water mine tunnels through the mountains that lead to a deep ravine, towards the bottom there is a 3km cliff ledge walk, path no more that a metre wide with a 300m drop into the sea and a vertical cliff above up to 1000m. I have walked it once and that was enough as i felt i was being pulled over the edge.

Any way consider this a formal invite to visit your cousins here in NL and try out our East coast trail...I promise you you wont be disappointed!

    been more fires since near Saltburn ,Yes fires easy started by peat then the roots ,Yes people think they got control but dont realise it spreads underneath, part of the woods as you come into Saltburn if u turned off the is loads fir trees same happened here where you can see how its done Its right near the old saw milll across the stepping stones .Plenty History in Saltburn ,yeh you should stayed on lower path ended on beach without going up to the roads .Hiking in the heat wave probs wasnt the best time to do that walk .Never done it in one myself still not done all the coast yet but most of it .My hardest hike was on that part but going other way in a winter storm lol. Its great walk with some amazing views all over . My home town . Great video .atb Max

    Congrats on hitting 100k! 🎉 Well deserved and hard earnt! Very fitting following the hardest hike of your life. Imagine if you got medic'd out, how many views you'd get, the joys of YT 🤣.
    Can we get a Cleveland way highlights video please? Would love to do some of it, but not sure I'm up to the whole lot after watching your vids lol!
    Thanks for lugging round all your filming gear and filming it even when you're struggling, I know how hard it is 💚

    Thanks for this. I find your videos therapeutic and amusing. Looking forward to the sections through Port Mulgrave and Runswick. Our family have been visiting this area for many years and there is a green bench on the way down into Runswick dedicated to my mother in law. I hope you enjoyed the walk and look forward to the next episode.
