Hey mate. Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed this video. I really like the simple approach you took. I often find myself switching up lures and moving from spot to spot at Burrinjuck. And always leaving that place feeling like I could of done more! Just proves that persistence and patience pays off Well done mate. If you don't mind me asking what was the barometer for that day and what time of year ?
thanks for tuning in mate, sorry don't know the barometer and also not 100% sure on the time of the year, i know it was late in the season as it took me a while to get down there. but still pretty cold
I've learned 3 things from this video: 1. The cod is now on the bucket list 2. Jerry-rigged is a universal term( some parts of the states jerry-rigged is also known as a cowboy) 3. Your whistle sounds very similar to the ghost...lol
Interesting! hahaha... Well if and when you can get over here, let me know and i will see what i can line up. I was hoping to compete in the Bassmaster Opens again in 2021 but with the way Covid is at the moment i doubt that will be an option
@@DeanSilvester Heck yeah, I'll definitely keep that in mind for sure!! Between the covid, rioting, & the removal of history this year has been crazy on my side of the pond. Whenever you're able to get back over here your invitation will still be good for some spotted bass trips on the Catawba & Savannah River chains of lakes.
Hey Dean, Love the boat upgrade, doing a similar project myself. Just wondering how thew EVA went over rivets? Do bumps show/feel? Any issues with adhesive failing? Was thinking id need a completely flush surface (e.g countersunk rivets/screws). How's the EVA holding up with regard to staining or getting damaged from hooks etc? Also, before you put EVA down how was the smooth Al sheet for slipping, heat and hull noise? cheers, keep the vids coming
There is no noise from the aluminium as I also glued it first to make sure no rattles or noises when you move around boat. The sheet isn’t slippery but was incredibly hot. As in couldn’t even touch it haha. Yes the Eva tread is fine going over the rivets, you can see tiny rises in it but I have the thick Eva tread so that would help disguise it a little. I have caught hundreds of fish in it now and have some small stains but I haven’t tried to clean it in a few weeks either. I also have a few small cuts and stab marks from lures in fish and gill rakers etc
Great job once again mate! Really enjoy the series. Althought not "overthinking" it looks like fishing a pattern to me...🤣😉 Also, just to mess up with the moon theory, 2 to 4 PM is likely to be that window when the water temp is the least cold (cause one can't say the warmest, I'd bet🥶🥶), during the day, right? Oh, and did you mark those fish on the graph and the target them? Thanks!
Glad you enjoy it! haha yes maybe don't know haha! When i chase bass at this time of year in southern dams i also hit the same style bluff faces and yes its because it's warmer from about 1pm through maybe 4pm. However saying that wait till part two... it messes it up a little haha. No i didn’t try to look for fish first i was just blind casting in front of me on the bluff walls, i did however see quite a few under the boat as i mooched along the walls. not a lot but enough to know they were there.
Haha all I really need to do is check my fuel each day. I didn’t look at the tank for two days of fishing prior and always forget I only have 25 litres
Good question! hahaha i don't know and i am not going to think about it in case it changes haha. Yep definitely no overthinking on the fuel side of things.
PS: Like you, I wish the bloody solunar stuff wasn't significant, but in non-tidal waters especially, I'm starting to think it is, at least sometimes... particularly the moon-rise, moon-set thing... looks like that's when the cod fired up for you, too.
In this video yes but in others no. And the following day and sequel to this video is slightly different again. But on impoundment Barra I am sold on the whole solunar thing for sure
I wear different ones mainly for comfort mate but yes different glass colours help see in different water but I haven’t been aight fishing since the barra scene in March
sorry mate missed this, i don't really have a favourite as depends on time of day for what makes it easier to see in the water. But in saying that the Edge in rose lens which has a green mirror looks the best for photos and helps with contrast in the water when fishing plus the edge frame is just so comfy. EDGE ROSE Code: 9604 M01-G2H5
Very interesting rigging on the magdraft I noticed that centre belly weight and the braid rigged top treble. How does this set up go in snaggy territory and do u actually fish it around timber or rock?
Belly weight is to help get it deeper, I now rig it a lot different to this. This was my first time ever using one. It was really good at getting through snags strangely enough. You retrieve it really slow so when you get it on a snag you can just walk it through it
Dean...Thanks 4 Sharing your "AWESOME COD EXPERIENCE'S" Love the COD TailSlap as they hit the net!!! LEGEND" IMO-JD
Thanks heaps mate, happy to share such a cool species to target
Nice one Deano - the new tub is developing some good fish mojo...
Sure is thanks mate
Love your work particularly on the cod, as it's my all time favourite fish to catch.
Cheers clinton
Thanks legend, i do like the cod as well. I will be tackling some cod soon i think when it starts to cool
Thanks Dean, much appreciated.
Very welcome ✌🏼
Well done. Endless rigging possibilities and they just work
100% mate, i like my new set up i just need to get back on the water and prove it.
I would love to catch one of those cod mate definitely on the bucket list😎🤙

Have heaps of Barra videos up already but yep can’t wait to get stuck back into them. This year should be a good one
Just keep smashing it mate!!! Love your work 👏
Thanks legend
Dams overflowing now after all the rain. I definitely have to get out there and fish it at some stage being so close. Well done
Seriously? That’s crazy. It was rising pretty good when I was there that week as well
@@DeanSilvester 51.8% according to the latest figures I've seen, but lots more pouring in. I doubt it will fill from this, but you never know!
Thought it was aways off
Dean Silvester sorry got a bit keen 😬 I was confused with reporting and a warning with Yass dam which is seperate.
Richard Willcoxson never heard of Yass dam, does it have cod in it as well?
HI. I love your kiss theory. What time of the year are you fishing? Great video and content. Hope to see you on the waters someday. All the best.
Thanks legend, it was late July i think mate. Maybe maximum 4-6 weeks before close season

Haha I do it in the editing software, it’s the GoPro max
I need a 360 in my life! Doesn’t look like it took to long to get the first couple of bites!
Took a few walls haha, like 7. Yep loving the 360 for this type of stuff

Hey Dean, killer video mate keep it up. What app where you using to work out premium bite times.
Cheers
Thanks mate, it’s just called fishing times in the App Store mate.
10L jerry next time Dean. just saying????????? . with some tucker???????????????. lol.
