How am i spoused to get a start as your apprentice you already got to many. I don't know if there is such a thing but how good would it be if you could tag the cod or whatever fish you catch and forward the details on to fisheries then the next person doses the same with measurements surly this would also be helpful to fisheries be good if they then sent you the details as well. IM probably dreaming but say someone who does not have tags they just forward information of the tagged fish on probably sounds good in theory you would get sick of answering the phone calls ah another job for the apprentice
hahaha this apprentice is going to have his work cut out. Yes they do a lot of tagging on the barra mate but not much on the cod. I think i will look into and see what the deal is. I know when i checked once before it was pretty pricey for me to get set up with all the tags etc
Is there a technique on releasing the big fellas, I'm used to catching cod under 1m but up above 50cm and these are eastern cod I'm catching and because they're protected I don't really hold them, measure them and take photos I just put them back in the water. The Murrays you're catching seem to be able to tolerate being out of the water for a bit longer but I just noticed that when you put them in the water they don't swim off right away and they come alive after a little bit. I've never been Murray cod fishing so I was interested in how it's done and how you let them go.
Hey mate they seem to just chill out in your hands and don't take off until you sort of push them off or make them go away, mates have accidentally let them go as soon as they touch the water and they take off immediately. Most of the time i hold them in the water to appreciate them one last time and just to double check they have the balance to stay upright
Solid fish mate, the old Murray cod is definitely on my bucket list.
Awesome video.

Yes they are! Was something i think i will find myself doing more of thats for sure. The amount of cod we saw looking for the yellas was an eye opener
More GooDoo action from Silvester.
What's the soft grip on the scope pole that you are using Dean, I'm looking to put something on mine.
hey legend, its glow in the dark from GFab engineering, cool when you have someone casting with you in the dark but also feels nice underhand
