This is unfortunate but he waited too late to get out of it. He should've been able to feel the rear tire shake an get out of it. Or at the very latest when he felt the bike leaning to the right. I hope he made a full recovery 🙏🏼
You’ve got to remember that the bike moves at 3s and he starts to bail off it at 33s, so he had 30s to think about it yeah? No just 3s in real time!! 😬
@@HighAway you start the run at slow motion to see how the tyre reacts etc for analysis purposes. Plus you don’t have time to change settings, there’s no sound with this camera on slow motion anyway, so no benefit to speeding it up. 👍
True, that's incredible. He hit the tarmac at at least 180 mph, and to walk away is incredible. Trust me, his whole body will be black and blue for a couple of weeks. I'm so glad he is OK. Elmer Trett made a record run 6.06 ? (Topbike nitro ) and came off after going through the lights, and his head hit the concrete wall. Rip to one of the greatest dragracers ever.Elmer Trett, a true gladiator...
These are big, wide beasts reaching 250mph in just 5 seconds. The g-forces, the reaction times... completely different game compared to slow, little circuit racing bikes, no one is going to gracefully crash one of these things.
He is correct. You know when it's too late. It's time to pitch the bike. Steve waited too long to get out of it. As a progas, Harley racer #3 plate holder(B&MCycles). Those 4 cylinder topfuelers are wide. You almost have to roll off it. Thus setting you in that motion.. we only had 11" wide rear tire. You could hop off the bike and set yourself in a sliding motion. I never had to get off one.
Phunk No, That's a man's life we're talking about, One top fuel death is one too many, Thank God He was ok, it's not any fun to go to something like this and not Pray for each and every Person in attendance, it makes every sport a lot safer!
Very clever rider! threw himself clear of any danger and kept well out of the way. respect
Survival instinct
He badly injured his shoulder but he was otherwise ok. In fact I was at his wedding yesterday and he was all good!
He almost did the entire quarter mile as a crash 😂
💀💀
Dammm, just when you think hes coming to a standstill, he keeps rolling!

why would you start at slow motion???

@@blackettphotography having it at the normal speed at first would have been better... that'll leave two choices in one clip easily.
Steve was able to walk away with bruises and a sore left shoulder.
also had a broken pinky

It looks nice and gentle in slo mo.
Was there watching from the bank very scarey moment glad Steve walked.
I think I saw the racepak fly off...
Still, i am really glad he is okay.
Absolutely, it perplexes me that some people think this is funny ?
Thank God he is okay; he will be very sore for a while. Most likely broke bones ?
rollin rollin rollin keep! rollin rollin rollin keep! rollin rollin rollin
keep! rollin rollin rollin keep! rollin rollin rollin
Balls of steel. Hope he ok.
he nearly got a finish time lol
but so glad he is all ok shame about the bike though
That was pretty cool.
just saying when it goes bad shut it down dont stay in it
As an ex motorcycle racer all I can say is you boys need to learn how to slide instead of tumble when you crash........
You don't always have a choice between a slide and a tumble. Top fuel racers aren't amateurs.
At 180 to 200 mph you become a human bullet.
Minibikes don't count nor do trail bikes, mate. Unless you've raced the TT or Topbike, do not lecture on things you do not understand...

You better start doing push-ups and hag on he just feel off 😢
omg be careful
Like Obamacare.
Why the hell dont we just use the idea of the monotracer fully enclosed bike already? Motorcycles are so unsafe its a freakin joke.
SuperSonicSenna thats called a car, lol.
SuperSonicSenna go back in your cave
Did anyone else find this funny?
Hilarious, NOT! Especially as if the bike had landed on him he wouldn't be with us now. Thankfully he is still with us and in one piece.

No. Not funny when a brother from another mother hits the pavement.
Shame on you if you did!
