They won't like it, but it effectively puts them and Simon/Wilhelm as a pair on the same side, and I think the best way to get Wilhelm to be more comfortable in his role is to have Simon's presence/support.
Netflix had the audacity to create a compilation of how many times Willie smiled in s2 and it was like 8 minutes out of like the 5+ hours of footage 💀 I know a lot of people Edvin included couldn't stand Wilhelm this season but I felt like it was such an in character reaction from him (besides the reputation era I did not see that one coming) The overwhelming desperation to get Simon back was at times embarassing to watch but made sense. I just felt bad for him he was dealing with all of this mess and still hadn't really been able to grieve or process anything. I felt the same way about Simon. Not only is the camera work incredible but the parallelism written throught the whole series is perfection kudos to Lisa and her team.
Edvin said that he struggled to understand Wilhelm in the first half of Season 2, not that he can't stand him, he also said he thinks Wilhelm really grew a lot in the second half of the season. And that Netflix Wilhelm smiling in S2 compilation was only 2,5 minutes long ☠️

You don't write admission essays or do interviews when you apply for Swedish universities. You apply with your grades from high school. She wasn't even dating August when she decided to keep the secret, she used it as leverage to live in the school and get a shot at popularity.
but i do think her neurodivergence is an explanation for some of her behaviour. it's almost like she has a hyperfixation over fitting in, likely brought on because of her neurodivergency and always feeling different because of that. it was established in season 1 she was bullied in her old school, which probably doesn't help. it unfortunately leads her to attempt to achieve her ambitions through selfish means. it's not justification for it, but it can explain it. she also wouldn't be a villain but an antagonist.
I'm autistic as well and I still think what she did was awful. I can relate to some aspects of her character but that doesn't excuse her actions. She is good autistic rep because she is a flawed human character.

I was so annoyed at Simon this season. He absolutely has the right to be upset at times but he was so rude to Wilhelm and such a hypocrite about him lying. Still love him though Also I find it so sad that Wilhelm is happy that his mom said they could *discuss* him possibly being out when he's 18. Like he's so used to having absolutely no control over his life that he thinks that's a good deal and that his mom actually understands him for once, because it's still more than he's ever been given. No wonder he's so confused when Simon didn't want to just wait and see Also also, his brother had a frog with a crown as well, but not inside of a snow globe. I wonder if maybe the globe is the protective layer because while he's a prince, he was never supposed to have the responsibility of being king. But when it's broken there is nothing protecting him anymore. His brother is not there to be his emotional protection or to keep him from having to be the crown prince.

He really did want to say that it was him in the video, he didn't lie when he told Simon that, but it's hard to go against any strict parent, much less the actual queen. I think he was in a tough spot and while Simon didn't have to be in a relationship with him if he didn't want to be a secret, I feel like it was unfair to blame Wilhelm for not going against his parents. Especially with the added pressure of being crown prince. They're both in really tough spots and it's just an unfortunate situation.

Okay, what should he have done to make his reactions better? There is no issues when it comes to sympathizing with Wille but when it comes to Simon, its an entirely different thing. The problem I have with season is that if you didn’t watch season 1 you wouldn’t ship Simon and Wille. At all. Simon has zero compassion for Wilhelm and is just mean to him for the most part. Apart from the fact that they are 16. We are missing some key points about Simon 1 . He had zero expectations from Wilhelm. He was going to change schools and just move on. He didn't expect Wilhelm to be there for him . When Wilhelm said " we are in this together" he not only thanked him but believed so whole heartedly that he went home was having fun with his family ... nott stressed or waiting for any announcement as such not only was he blindsided he was mad at himself and started questioning his own judgement. ( it can be argued that his expectations were unfair as Wilhelm was a kid as well with no control over his life ..but that brings me to the other thing we seem to have missed ) 2. Simon is the decision maker in his life ... he take care of his sister, mom, and dad ... we see this when sara was rude to the mom ..and he was like " no no I will deal with this " ...and when he was taking care of the dad .... and again when he was planning to spend the weekend with Wilhelm ( he didn't ask if he could sleep over at Ayub's he told his mom he would be sleeping there. ) ... so for his it would not even cross his mind that Wilhelm the Crown Prince can't make decisions about his own life ( again naive but at 16 you tend to see life through the lens of your reality ...heck some adults still do ) ...... I feel for Wilhelm too ..as he is literally a child .. he has never made any major decisions about anything ...he is ignored by his parents until he embarrasses them or after his brother died. . He has all these expectations placed on him ( even by Simon ) without having the skills to deal with any of it. And this puts them at odds ..Simon needs space and time to process like the "adult" he is while Wilhelm clings and throws tantrums like the child he is .... for them to meet Simon needs to regress and Wilhelm needs to grow

This is an adaptation of a Kazuo Ishiguro novel, directed by James Ivory (CALL ME BY YOUR NAME screenwriter) and co-produced by Ismail Merchant and Mike Nichols. Anthony Hopkins (MCU's Odin) and Emma Thompson are the leads. Highly urge you to check this out.

I was so annoyed at Simon this season. He absolutely has the right to be upset at times but he was so rude to Wilhelm and such a hypocrite about him lying. Still love him though
Also I find it so sad that Wilhelm is happy that his mom said they could *discuss* him possibly being out when he's 18. Like he's so used to having absolutely no control over his life that he thinks that's a good deal and that his mom actually understands him for once, because it's still more than he's ever been given. No wonder he's so confused when Simon didn't want to just wait and see
Also also, his brother had a frog with a crown as well, but not inside of a snow globe. I wonder if maybe the globe is the protective layer because while he's a prince, he was never supposed to have the responsibility of being king. But when it's broken there is nothing protecting him anymore. His brother is not there to be his emotional protection or to keep him from having to be the crown prince.
Considering that Wille totally pissed on Simon last season, Simon could’ve been way worse.
@@konami-ww5du I don't think he did, he was in a really tough position and while it was kind of shitty to Simon it wasn't really his fault. He really did want to say that it was him in the video, he didn't lie when he told Simon that, but it's hard to go against any strict parent, much less the actual queen. I think he was in a tough spot and while Simon didn't have to be in a relationship with him if he didn't want to be a secret, I feel like it was unfair to blame Wilhelm for not going against his parents. Especially with the added pressure of being crown prince. They're both in really tough spots and it's just an unfortunate situation.
@@amaryllis543 Simon is a 16 year old boy who deserves to feel hurt and betrayed. He has been through alot and was notorious for putting people's feelings OVER his own in season 1 and Sara called him out for it. Yes, Wille did not deny that it was him in the video intentionally but what was Simon's reaction suppose to be???? It's always "Simon doesn't understand Wille". Okay, what should he have done to make his reactions better? There is no issues when it comes to sympathizing with Wille but when it comes to Simon, its an entirely different thing. Also, 3/4 of the things that we see as the audience happening to Wille, Simon is not privy to.

The problem I have with season is that if you didn’t watch season 1 you wouldn’t ship Simon and Wille. At all. Simon has zero compassion for Wilhelm and is just mean to him for the most part. Wilhelm is immature throughout. They are toxic af. Have to remind myself of season 1 to remember why I even want them together.
Still a great drama but I don’t love the lack of positive moments between the two leads 🤷🏻♂️
i mean, it's important to remember they're both teenagers with a lot of baggage and trauma, and wilhelm especially has had practically NO emotional support from anyone in his life except for felice since losing his brother and having all of this responsibility shoved on his shoulders. tbh, i stand by that wilhelm has every right to be immature and petty with august and lash out, and also to be frustrated with simon.
however, simon also has every right to be frustrated with wilhelm because he wouldn't give him the space he needed and because his life has been and will be affected so much by the video while wilhelm has been able to brush it under he rug. i really don't blame him for struggling to be sympathetic towards wilhelm's situation, however he could have been kinder. and tbf on simon, he did eventually grow to be able to sympathise with wilhelm. it just took some time which is totally valid.

Apart from the fact that they are 16. We are missing some key points about Simon
1 . He had zero expectations from Wilhelm. He was going to change schools and just move on. He didn't expect Wilhelm to be there for him . When Wilhelm said " we are in this together" he not only thanked him but believed so whole heartedly that he went home was having fun with his family ... nott stressed or waiting for any announcement as such not only was he blindsided he was mad at himself and started questioning his own judgement. ( it can be argued that his expectations were unfair as Wilhelm was a kid as well with no control over his life ..but that brings me to the other thing we seem to have missed )
2. Simon is the decision maker in his life ... he take care of his sister, mom, and dad ... we see this when sara was rude to the mom ..and he was like " no no I will deal with this " ...and when he was taking care of the dad .... and again when he was planning to spend the weekend with Wilhelm ( he didn't ask if he could sleep over at Ayub's he told his mom he would be sleeping there. ) ... so for his it would not even cross his mind that Wilhelm the Crown Prince can't make decisions about his own life ( again naive but at 16 you tend to see life through the lens of your reality ...heck some adults still do )
...... I feel for Wilhelm too ..as he is literally a child .. he has never made any major decisions about anything ...he is ignored by his parents until he embarrasses them or after his brother died. . He has all these expectations placed on him ( even by Simon ) without having the skills to deal with any of it. And this puts them at odds ..Simon needs space and time to process like the "adult" he is while Wilhelm clings and throws tantrums like the child he is .... for them to meet Simon needs to regress and Wilhelm needs to grow
